Twilight does lose a horn, for those squeamish on that sort of thing, but It's done in a comedic sort of way.

So I can't be the only one who noticed that Twilight's Cutie Mark was an upside-down pentagram (at least from the side). From a shot at 3/4, it looks like a slightly fat, faceless Starman.

VastaKustutaI don't think a unicorn's horn would bleed that much (or at all) if it were cut off. I'm pretty sure that Unicorn horns (much like those of the Rhinoceros) are made of keratin rather than bone, which would explain why pony horns are the same color as their fur and hooves (being made of the same stuff and all).
