ReplyDeleteReally liked it. Really really liked it. And really the only thing that stops me from outright loving it is the mild swearing, because I reaaaaally can't imagine Pinkie dropping swears. She's a little too laser focused on internal knowledge and word analysis to really do something like that lightly.

The voices were much closer than I imagined, which is very awesome. Applejack's line at the end was hilarious too along with Rainbow's Wingboner and Pinkie holding up the ingredients with three legs.

ReplyDeleteWe need more stuff like this. Splicing footage together is all well and good, but this shows real effort on the part of the community and it's so much more entertaining.
Also, I don't know who you got to do the voices but they're SERIOUSLY good. They really sounded like Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack (assuming that last bit wasn't just a sound bite). Whoever these ladies are we need to get them to do more :D
I absolutely LOVE that Fluttershy's "Yay" was the censor bleep instead of the bird sound from EMT. Awesome!

ReplyDeleteThat was...truly and utterly epic. Arguably the best fan work I've seen to date. Great animation is one thing, and great voice acting another entirely. But seeing them both come together literally made me shudder once the video got going.

I... don't think I get it, really. It was amusingly off-kilter and nicely done, but the closest thing to an actual joke was Applejack's closing "Beg your pardon?" The swearing, mild (or censored) though it was, also detracted a little bit. Is this a parody of something I've never seen, or some internet meme of which I'm unaware?

ReplyDeleteI was a tad put off by some of the tweened and dull animations, particularly the endless waves in the "frosting" jar and the odd way the "frosting" was spread, but otherwise, I loved it!
It's a fan creation anyway, so I can cut them some slack while they practice. :D
Also, it wouldn't be right without the cussing. The WAY the cussing is done is a critical part of Epic Meal Time's charm. It has to be done JUUUST right (or else it's just obscene) and these folks nailed it.
