ReplyDeleteI feel so proud knowing where #7 came from, and I honestly didn't expect to see that when I scrolled down. One of the few times I've ever been at my computer and I actually cowered back in surprise. Then I laughed.
ReplyDeleteFor those that don't get it, it's a reference to a man who plays Amnesia: The Dark Descent in one of the scarier parts of the game. He's wandering around trying to hide from monsters and stumbles into a room with a torch that lights itself up.
After a freakout, he stutters out - "What even is that thing? That's not a torch!... That is not traditional...fire."
Unfortunately the original video has been taken off of youtube, and most of the videos that mirrored it didn't actually save that part (there was another part of the video that was so funny it became a meme within the Amnesia community, and this is like a secondary meme), so it's difficult to find. I know there's one video that is the same video as the original but in lesser quality. If you bother looking for it, good luck.

jodyjm13 beat me to it, but yes, virtually everyone used to smoke back in those days. And with the commission being for a specific type of period piece, I figured it was called for in this instance!
But anyway yes, thank you so much all who mentioned my piece (#5)! Though it was a commissioned work, as I said, I'm glad people enjoy it all the same... I certainly had fun making it. ^_^

#2 Very cute anime-esque style here... I very much like the coloring and especially the highlight's on Rainbow's tail. This is a cute, happy, and delightfully candy-colored fanart.

#10 Even though I feel rather guilty saying it, I really like this picture! It's the art style which appeals to me I think, though Zecora's posture and expression are interesting as well. Poor Pinkie, I'm quite sure that's not a jacuzzi tub darling... D=

#15 I really love this picture. It's a bit of an unusual concept certainly (or at least the way it's been executed) but I simple adore the way it's been colored... such a gorgeous painterly style! Nice subdued palette too... yes like very much. <3
#18 I'm sure it's because of the way Rainbow is biting on Fluttershy's hair, but they totally remind me of cute puppies in this picture. And while I suppose it's intended to be shippy, I can't think of it that way at all for that very reason.
#19 And speaking of shipping, I don't know what it is about this series or its fandom but I never have been a pairings fangirl at any point in my life, and suddenly it seems I'm becoming one! What have you done to me, bronies? ;_; The more I see them together the more this pairing appeals to me, and I very much like this picture anyway for the setting (love the detail of the wine bottle and glasses there). Urgh darn shipping..
#23 Who is to say if this meme will take off (well beyond tonight, though knowing this fan community I'm sure it will) but yes, I really love this picture. As if the idea of Luna playing tennis wasn't amusing enough already, the uniform here and the chain link fence (chain link fencing in Equestria is hilarious to me) just make it moreso. The scene Rose is looking through Jack's portfolio and among the pictures of the naked women Rose comes to a picture of an elderly woman sitting at a bar. Jack tells her that he would see this woman every night. She wears all the jewelry she owns and her clothes have become moth eaten but she still comes to the bar looking for love.

If I can influence the driving of others behind me by merely staying well behind other vehicles while maintaining the speed limit (Avoiding tailgating also prevents potential accidents) I can have a huge impact on others by merely being the best person I can be. And boy howdy, Kindness starts by giving it, Not by receiving it. Kindness brings kindness too.

"Trixie's Master Plan" has generated a lot of interesting comments in various forums, and I really appreciate all the feedback I've gotten. IMHO, the poll was based on an absurd premise, so I wouldn't take it too seriously. There is no Trixie and she's not going to turn anyone into a pony, so why worry about whether she's really sending you to Ponyville or what might happen as a consequence? Just go with it. :-)
I would rather be a pegasis... Then, I could fly and it would be awesome.
