ReplyDelete@Cain.Is.Blogging.Stuff
ReplyDeleteI still love you <3
She should be the voice actor for derpy!!!!
ReplyDeletelol at people going for first.
ReplyDeleteShe should.
ReplyDeleteIt's a much better sounding voice than the voice for when she said "Muffins"
lol at wackyteen loling at people going for first
ReplyDeleteI was thoroughly entertained by these. Especially, Doctor Whooves inability to pick up his sonic screwdriver.
ReplyDeletethis is ossom
ReplyDeleteThis was good though "everyones favourite mailmare"? im fairly certain she's the only Mailmare we've got, though she is still everyponies favourite.
ReplyDeleteVery well done, I hope they work on this more and actually animate it. I would love to see that. But so far so good, 5 stars!
ReplyDelete"homo say what now?"
ReplyDeletetruly she is the best voice actor of our time
So thats what Derpy sounds like...
ReplyDeleteStill not ginger. <3
ReplyDeleteI stand...
ReplyDeleteIN AWE
That was amazing. Derpy was adorable and the Doctor was in character and I'm okay with both of their voices. If this was animated completely or even with the group that did the Luna video earlier, this would be quite the amazing thing. I hope this continues.

ReplyDeleteI still laugh at the Doctor's reaction to his new form.
ReplyDeleteI really liked it. It took me a little bit before I realized that the Doctor was acting as Tennant, but it was great regardless if my own personal failing. The jokes were clever and the voice actors were great for their roles.
ReplyDeleteI loved the "still not ginger" line and the attempting to grab the Sonic Screwdriver bit. Very nice.
See? Even the most primitive animation still puts a smile on a person's face.
ReplyDeleteThat was fantastic, I was grinning like an idiot the whole time the video was playing
ReplyDeleteThat first one is great! I wonder if there is more to that... (can't check easily on iPhone)
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the second vid.... Her voice reminds me of Moira Brown, oddly enough... Any way, I consider that voice to be canon Derpy
i can't stop laughing!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know, the first times I heard this person's Derpy voice, I really didn't like it. At all.
ReplyDeleteNow I find that it's really growing on me.

ReplyDeleteIt's amusing, but the doctor's voice bugged the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteLoving the animatic. The character styling is full of expression promises and eternally cute natures. The writing matches, quite banter filled.
ReplyDeleteDerpy's voice, I'd recognise her anywhere now. She is the best Derpy. Hands down.
Doctor's voice...eerrgghh...not selling to me. But the actual writing dialogue is great.
The first video had so much win, i can't even describe it

ReplyDeletethe doctor's voice was... unexpected. Derpy's was just what i had hoped for.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I really think Hasbro should hire BalDumboRat (sorry I don't know your name) if they make Ditzy Doo a speaking part!

ReplyDeleteWhat DOES Derpy's cutie mark represent?
ReplyDeleteI say it represents her ability to hold her breath for ten minutes without passing out.
And I also say that Pinkie got the rubber chicken she was swinging around in "Dragonshy" from Zecora, and that it has a pulley in the middle!
anamatic
ReplyDeletefix the title
Holy cow, that Doctor Whooves was incredible, and so hilarious, what with all the cartoony gags and slapstick humor. XD Too cool.
ReplyDeleteThe letters to Derpy was also fun to listen to, especially the special talent bit XD.
I agree with what everyone else is saying. Derpy's voice is spot on, but the Doctor, ehhh....
ReplyDeleteDavid Tennant is actually a pretty cool guy, perhaps if some fans contacted him about doing some voice work I'm sure he would help if he's free (assuming he likes MLP: FiM). Couldn't hurt to try, right? That or at least get someone who sounds like David Tennant or Matt Smith, perhaps do a contest?
Otherwise, the animation is looking great, and I can't wait to see this fleshed out into a full blown episode (if that's the direction this is going).
This. Was. Awesome. I sorely hope this gets finished.
ReplyDeleteLoved the first video.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the Doctor Whooves animatic; the drawings were so loose and expressive that I worry full animation would take away from the effect.
ReplyDeleteThe Derpy/Ditzy Q&A was fun too; I really ought to look up the others sometime. (Also, does anyone know where I can get the image used for that video?)
An audio AND a visual. I loved it! Even though I'm no fan of Doctor Who/Whooves I enjoyed this very much.
ReplyDeleteStill can't say I like that Derpy/Ditzy voice. It's just seems too high pitched, even for MLP. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteThis is what Luna's Lament was lacking. Voice actors that are totally in character. I didn't like the Derpy voice at first but I do now because the VA pulls off the character so well that the voice doesn't bother me.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Desktop1030.
ReplyDeleteThat voice... is unpleasant.
That was awesome
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be good when it's done.
ReplyDeleteS1 was pony trailers, fanart, fics, and remixes. Looks like S2 upped the ante with all the former and full-blown animatics and games! I can only imagine the evolution once the ball really gets rolling with S2!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that doesn't like Derpy sounding like a 13 year old?
ReplyDeleteDinky, where do baby fillies come from?
ReplyDeleteMama? Um, I'll tell you when I'm older...
^^^^
This!
Oh, yes. I can get behind this.
ReplyDeleteOther than that...
ReplyDeleteVery very very amusing. Was smiling through the whole thing and even laughed a few times.
Ah, someone made an animation to the Doctor Whooves and Assistant audio clip. And it says in the description another was made before it, huh. This is the first one I've seen anyway. And I liked it. Not too shabby overall. Some of the facial expressions were hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAnd another Derpy Q&A, nice. These are kinda fun to listen to.
That was adorable
ReplyDeleteYou know, I used to absolutely loathe that voice for Derpy. I'm finding I really am starting to like it now that it has some good scripts to go off of. Both of these were really good, especially the first one. Keep up the good work!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the scene were Ditzy is showing him how to hold things with a hoof! She made it seem so easy and simple!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else getting a Tiny Toon Adventures kind of vibe from this?
ReplyDeleteFREAKIN' TEN OUT OUT TEN!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGET IT ANIMATED!!!
Dat First video!
ReplyDeleteIs this going to be fully animated and colored?
And is this going to be continued?
I must know!
Please, for the love of Celestia, expand on the first one. Make it an episode or something, but do it!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
His reaction to being turned into a pony was hilarious.
Fun, fun, and more fun!
ReplyDeleteCute Derpy is cute. And I liked that short. I liked it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love these stills, and I fricking love Derpy's voice actress. The part with the screw driver cracked me the hell up.
ReplyDeleteSonic Screwdriver bit was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteActually, all of it was wonderful.
I know I'm going to get bashed for this, but screw it I need to get it out or it will consume me.
ReplyDeleteFirst let's get the positives out of the way. The idea is clever and even though it's been explored many times, it still puts a smile on my face. The The illustrations are heartwarming and a lot of times clever with many tributes to the old age animation. The story is laid out pretty well, with clever jokes and believable lines. So far so good right?
Here come the negatives, and this is where you start paying attention.
The voice acting...
*sigh* First of let's get Doctor Whoof out of the way. The guy sounds like he's incredibly tired and he should get a good night's sleep rather than attempting to voice act as a miniature equine. Also, the very same 'guy' sound like he's 'whisper-shouting' the term which I coined and a term that no-one will ever use again, because it's silly and makes little sense. But in my understanding 'whisper-shouting' means that the lines demand of the actor to be shouting or exclaiming something very loudly, but he's surroundings are preventing the loudness of his voice from surpassing a certain level...for example a sleeping relative with anger problems sleeping in the next room could qualify as one of these surroundings. So whenever someone is 'whisper-shouting' that's what they're really doing, they're talking quietly but trying to make it sound like they're being loud. Sadly, that irritates me and probably a lot of other people, but I wouldn't count on that considering that I'm usually alone in my opinions.
Now let's get to Derpy. I have nothing against the character, or the lines that the author assigned to her. The problem once again lies with the voice actor. I'm sorry, but once I heard her speak for the first time I turned off the video and was off to the comment section to see if anyone shared my strange, but severe case of ear-bleeding. Still, the comments all seemed to be positive in most cases, but even the ones with criticism in them seemed to soften they're point with a pat on the back and the obligatory 'you did your best'. The voice is far too high-pitched and incredibly annoying, it's one of those voices that make you wonder if the owner of it is a girl or a very spoiled ten year old boy who's parents bought him an xbox 360 with a copy of the latest call of duty game and cheapest microphone of the planet so that he would shut up about whatever he was b*tching about. But, all the positive comments did make me start the video over again and watch it to the end with a blind hope of it actually improving as the time went by, sadly it did not. The voice actors continued to do whatever they were doing all the way until the video ended.
So here's a quick summary for those of you who are afraid of menacing walls of text.
1. The animation is good, though still in the early stages it is pleasing to the eye and should definitely be finished because it has great potential.
2.The writing is great with all the references to Doctor Who, though I myself am not a fan of 'Doctor Whoof is David Tennant' fan-non...I still appreciate it when it's presented correctly. Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of David Tennant but in point during his travels was ever revealed, nor was it ever referenced that he was suddenly turned into a pony.
3.Voice actors are terrible and whoever is the author of the project should consider looking for better ones.
The review above is filled to the brim with errors, both grammatical and scientific, it should be taken with a grain of salt considering that the author of it is still furious about the fact that he's cat has spilled his soda all over the said author's kryboard.
@Master Shake About 2, Ten did have quite a while off between his last story (The End of Time) and the one before that, and being a pony for a short time isn't really something to brag about when you know your die soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is just WAY too precious. I'd love to see more. They both did a great job of voicing their characters.
ReplyDeletePure win. Voice actors are awesome, specially Derpy. Glad she's the one doing it as I loves her Derpy line videos. Great stuff. Never watched dr who, but I like the fellow playing him. Don't care which doctor it is. Don't matter. Its Dr Whooves. Script was great. Music fit. Was long enough to not leave you feeling shorted. Art was good, be better if animated. But that's really my only gripe. And crap, I can look past that easily seeing how everything else is so cool.
ReplyDelete*holds out a empty plate and gives the artiest the Applebloom eyes* Please sir, could I have some more? Its every so nice.
Hey, I'm the first question on the Q&A thingie! Only Derpy/BaldDumboRat mispronounced my name. lol (Beau is pronounced like "bo," or like "bow & arrow.")
ReplyDeleteHehe that was great. I love the cute wacky cartoony style of the animatic art, (it somehow suits Derpy) even though I've never watched Dr. Who, this was a good parody, and the fan-voices were pretty good.
Also regardless what anypony may say, I actually like BaldDumboRat's fan voice for Derpy. It's adorable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qilGNogmHs8&feature=channel_video_title Here's the other one, it's not finished yet though.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, in regards to the comments, thanks for all the feedback.
ReplyDeleteThere is one concept I'd like people to drop ASAP. Doctor Whooves is NOT based directly on any of the Doctors. He is regenerated, and a totally new Doctor on his own. He has his own voice, his own quirks, and his own personality that may reference the other doctors but will not directly try to BE them.
Derpy/Ditzy will also not be constantly "blond" throughout the series. I've already written her reasons for how she acts. My only hint to this is that some people act silly and clueless as a cover up to their true selves.
Thanks everyone!
These made so happy I died and revived again instantly.
ReplyDeleteYAY FANIMATION
ReplyDelete...if I may add constructive criticism, there are a couple moments where good opportunities to characterize the doctor were missed. Derpy was spot-on though.
Confound this ditzy, she drives me to love her.
ReplyDeleteNo pony other than the one who stars in these videos should portray Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo
ReplyDeleteDerpy and The Doctor are crazy adorable :3
ReplyDeleteas a fan of both dr who and Mlp, I think this is really well done
ReplyDeleteloved the ginger reference in there
Seriously Derpy and Ditzy I need to find out for sure... but didn't the name Ditzy first appear in Winter Wrap Up or did some fanfic writer coincidentally give that name to Derpy before that episode?
ReplyDeleteBecause in WWU Ditzy is that (purple? or is it dark blue?) pegasus that is shown a few times and more accurately at the part where she comes back with the 'Southern Birds' at the end.
Ditzy Doo and Derpy Hooves are two totally different ponies and it's been driving me nuts for months when both names are associated with Derpy.
Derpy, as the team at Hasbro acknowledged us naming her, hasn't changed her name to Ditzy Doo and one of the artists even said that far as she knew it still was known as Derpy around the office.
So again did some FanFic writer just happen to make a fic BEFORE the WWU episode ever air that called Derpy 'Ditzy Doo'? Because if not let's clear this misconception up once and for all and stick to one name already D: (or just perverbially kill off the real Ditzy Doo in a Duck Hunt fashion and have that annoying Dog carry her corpse off to god knows where!)
-ANYWAYS-
Derpgirl your awesome and the team that put that together is awesome and the guy that voiced the doctor is awesome. In summary: EVERYTHING WAS AWESOME ABOUT YOU GUYS!
Hope to see and hear more from you Derpgirl, been wondering when you'd make another appearance on EqD XD
@Celestia
ReplyDeleteI delivered letters once. Doesn't that make me a mailmare?
