I actually did some research on the amount of money high end fashion designers make, and from what I can tell, Rarity would be rolling in cash after selling that set to Hoity Toity.
No wonder she can give everything away all the time!
Wow, my browser really did not like that comic for whatever reason...
BUT, that having been said really lovely artwork, if nothing else! I am always impressed when artists can so accurately represent the look and feel of the series, while still bringing something new to it. ^.^
@Voodoo-Tiki I didn't really see the problem. It was all nice and polite and respectful and there were no shouting matches or anything.
As for the comic, I didn't really get the punchline, except that he seems to be giving a hidden, crazy side to my second favorite pony. I'm...not entirely comfortable with that.
I barely see the point of lingerie in real life. I definitely can't see much point of it in a world where clothes are optional.
That said, it was somewhat amusing. As for the religious description, it is the guy's picture and page. Doesn't hurt me any (though it does confuse me) if he wants to preach under a comic about ponies buying lingerie, so I don't see why I should care about it.
At first, I assumed this was gonna be an comic adaptation of The Back Room....
(aka, the comedic clopfic where Braeburn/Big Mac go at it to the butthurt chagrin of homophobes everywhere.....and Pinkie Pie accidentally rapes Minty w/ a carrot.)
(which was totally Rarity's fault for recommending BDSM equipment to ***F'n Pinkie Pie*** without giving her any safety instructions. I mean, that's like giving her a loaded Glock.)
I actually appreciate the fact that the "pony lingerie" doesn't look like human lingerie on a pony. I have no idea what parts of a pony are supposed to be erotic to other ponies, and I'm thankful that the artist left me my innocence.
@Flutterfan A saddle? Doubt that considering ponies can't ride other ponies and they don't take kindly to a Diamond Dog getting on them. The saddle must for Twilight and her number one "assistant."
Thank you everyone for the valuable feedback! @Voodoo-Tiki @amddude Not trying to preach, but rather disclaim. Don’t want some supposed fellow Christian to falsely accuse me of being a perv. I personally don’t like profanity in descriptions, but that doesn’t necessarily stop me from faving a pic. @moocow1452 @Blue Ace @cursormortis Just a continuation of the joking irony of Rarity’s comment in the last episode of season 1. I agree it’s a bizarre concept. @SparkleFun @Octavia I debated greatly as to what expression to give her. I don’t deny that I probably ruined it for the most part. She is my favorite pony thus far though. @Flutterfan I agree, it was vague. I believe I made it too long. I hope my future comics won’t be as such. I’m learning from my mistakes. @Serephius http://fav.me/d4ajkgq
I never thought I’d actually get featured! Again, thank you everyone for the feedback!
Clothes can be used to enhance the attractiveness and allure of someone's figure, highlighting their best features while smoothing away the least attractive. Considering we're not ponies, I'm sure there's parts of them, that to ponies, they would find attractive that just completely baffle us.
So it stands to reason that having such intimate lingerie would be a boon to getting a roll in the hay squared away.
Also, sure there's lots of people out there who say we bronies go too far with stuff like this, but I like thinking of the ponies as living their actual lives offscreen as well, the daily business that only fanart and fanfics can give form and thought to. Like this, of course suave and trendy Rarity who's worried about finding a stallion to settle down with, would be the more sensual-minded of the group.
Yes, one strip of clothing compared to the rest that ponies wear when they're ALWAYS NAKED is soooo kinky. *rolls eyes* Shift from left-to-right to right-to-left? Tut, tut, tut. Wouldn't do that in a book, would you?
Word of advice, Cherry: If you are every invited into a back room of a shop and it is filled with kinky items, Don't insult the shopkeeper. You will just end up on the receiving end of that scene from Pulp Fiction.
@Adam L. Humphreys Thanks for commenting, and for the amusing comic! While, like others, I found the final punchline a little flat, Rarity's expression in the last panel makes up for it. I look forward to seeing more work from you!
In the Ponyverse, wearing full-on dresses and things like that is sophisticated and fashinable, wearing nothing is normal and wearing certain outfits and half-sets of clothes is considered erotic.
I can actually understand rarity blight in the last panel, cause my sister work in a erotic store and she keeps complaining about something similair to that last joke (oddly she also has the same face when she complains.)
Fluttershy has some experience in modeling. Just saying.
I considered socks to be pony equivalent of sexy lingerie.
The metal & leather stuff that you put on horse head could be equivalent of that weird leather stuff some people like.
I guess income Rarity makes from that back room sweetens her irritation at the clients. Plus she is the only tailor in town, and probably makes all kinds of clothes that its inhabitants need.
I wondered a bit how Equestrian economy works, and how mane 6 get their income. Twilight - librarian and scholoarship / grants. Rainbow Dash - money for weather control? Applejack - sells apples and other food. Fluttershy - gets paid for taking care of animals. Rarity - tailor, fashion designer (supplies Ponyville, but dresses with gems for nobility and showbizness are even more profitable) Pinkie Pie - gets some money from cake store, but somehow seems to spend more than she should own on all these parties and party accesories and crazy contraptions. That bowl of gems she gave to Spike was probably from her rock farming days (fanon being that rock farming turns them into geodes filled with gems).
This reminds me of this joke: A guy walks into a clothing store and wants to buy a pair of gloves for his wife. He doesn't know her hand size, so female shopkeeper offers him assistance. After looking at her hand in a glove he says "Actually I'd like bra and panties too".
That was funny. I can honestly see her having a private collection for the more intement nature and taking offense to being asked to model them.
Well I always figured that she does the job for the fame and love of fashion, less so for the money. Though she's not one to turn down actual treasure or fortune it seems.(Tom and trying to "watch" the Dragon's hoard)
Wait, why did you have to do research on that? Isn't that pretty obvious? That would be like someone being surprised at professional football players being paid so much.
i'm thinking Twilight's parents are loaded. So, she doesn't actually has to work. (seeing she comes from Canterlot, which has as i see it only rich ponies).

Rarity is rollin in the dough!

VastaKustutahehe, rarity gonna stab a pony
VastaKustutaWow, that Rarity is creepy, she looks like shes ready to rend flesh with those teeth!
VastaKustutaShe's making that face because that's the 1000th time she's heard that.
VastaKustutaIf only my father had stuck with his fashion life!
VastaKustutaQuick, Rarity, do like me!
VastaKustutaSHAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA
@Jelfes
VastaKustutaHer hair looked like stinging nettles!
I did not need pony lingerie incepted into my brain. X{
VastaKustutaAnd what's the purpose of intimates if they walk around naked most of the time?
haha Rarity's gonna kill somepony
VastaKustutaThat was funnier before I read the comments. Man, it got bibley in there.
VastaKustutaIn the words of that chick from Forrest Gump
VastaKustuta"Run dude...run."
@Voodoo-Tiki
VastaKustutaIt was reasonable though, so it's not that bad.
Wow, my browser really did not like that comic for whatever reason...

@moocow1452
VastaKustutaAs Mr. Mash once said on "Are You Being Served", "It's not for looking at! It's for taking off!"
hmmmm kinky!
VastaKustutaInteresting comic. Rarity, being the proper lady that she is, I can understand why she would object to that pony's last comment.
VastaKustutaThis comic kept crashing my iPad...obviously Rarity is too glorious.
VastaKustutaI don't understand why this is
VastaKustutaNow waiting for Pinkity art of Rarity literally rolling in cookie dough.
VastaKustutaWow... evil Rarity is downright frightening!
VastaKustutaPony Lingerie... Huuum, I think I need brain bleach now.
@Voodoo-Tiki
VastaKustuta>getting preached at in description
Instant non-fave
Lingerie doesn't really work here, since ponies are naked and don't have visible genitals anyway. There's nothing to...accentuate.
VastaKustutaI barely see the point of lingerie in real life. I definitely can't see much point of it in a world where clothes are optional.

I thought the joke was a little vague, but fantastic artwork and anything starring Rarity I like.
VastaKustuta@Nightbreak
VastaKustutaIndeed.
At any rate: holy cow, welcome to the seamy (or should that be steamy?) side of Ponyville... >_>
At first, I assumed this was gonna be an comic adaptation of The Back Room....

@cursormortis
VastaKustutaRight. Love, Tolerance etc.
He seemed like a nice guy.
I actually appreciate the fact that the "pony lingerie" doesn't look like human lingerie on a pony. I have no idea what parts of a pony are supposed to be erotic to other ponies, and I'm thankful that the artist left me my innocence.
VastaKustutaThere was a Rarity's secret app in the "There's a pony for that" Comercial. Just sayin...
VastaKustutaRarity went evil at the end.
VastaKustutaYup, I'd shop there. Lawl.
VastaKustutaRarity's face in the last panel... scary. I didn't think the suggestion was THAT bad. Besides maybe for the intimates department. ;P
Pony lingerie would be garters, a lace saddle and a silk bridle.
VastaKustutaAnd yes I've put way too much thought into this.
Look out! I think she might bite.
VastaKustuta@Flutterfan
VastaKustutaYou're not the only one...

Man, this community is awesome xD
VastaKustutaI lol'd.
VastaKustutaOh my god, I have to have the raw image of that last panel. Wallpaper awesome!

awww, I wanted to see more of her designs. :(
VastaKustuta@Serephius
VastaKustutaHere ya go!
lawl now that was good xD
VastaKustutathis reminds me of a fic i saw the other day, although there was a bit more in her back room...
VastaKustuta@moocow1452

It shall forever remain her secret.
VastaKustutaConfound this technology, it drives my browser to crash.

It's a garnish.
VastaKustutaactually being a fashion designer can be a rewarding career iv'e seen cloths sell for...yeah really high dough
VastaKustutai have one friend who is a fashion designer that specializes in wedding dresses...
i was kinda shocked when he explained to me how much he actually earns just selling one dress >_<
@moocow1452

At least, that's my logic.
@moocow1452
VastaKustutaSame as for humans - psychologically, almost-naked is sometimes sexier than fully-naked.
The Back Room... The Back Room... The Back Room
VastaKustutaThat face is priceless!

VastaKustutaSome people find that leaving a little to the imagination is a little more... umm... you know what I mean.
@Cloud Runner
VastaKustutaOff topic, but I want a larger version of the picture in your avatar!
Back room? Nah, Rarity displays all her stuff proudly on the main shop floor. Remember those outfits with bridles?
VastaKustutaThat was funny.
VastaKustutaI can honestly see her having a private collection for the more intement nature and taking offense to being asked to model them.
