Mixermike (The same guy that created the Fluttershy/Trixie/Twilight Sparkle banners prior to our new creepy ass Pinkie Pie overlord) busted out this four page comic. This guy defenitly knows how to use vectors! All pages can be found below.

mixermike again? Sounds good for me!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's it about?
ReplyDeleteStar Trek blatant reference...
ReplyDeleteAlso, Seth......why did you change the banner from that awesome mixermike one to the pinkie poltergeist one, which references both the new hub ad and the fanfiction-that-shall-not-be-named?
ReplyDeleteWoah-ho!
ReplyDeleteDidn't I see something about a documentary a few seconds ago?
@Jelfes well, Discord IS Q from Star Trek....
ReplyDeleteThank god they took down the last post
ReplyDeleteThose puppy dog eyes... not sure if I find them extremely cute or extremely creepy.
ReplyDeleteit could have been a disaster
ReplyDelete@P. Pony Ponyson
ReplyDeleteI think they took it down which is, in my opinion, a bad idea. The documentary people will find someone to interview. The best thing we could do is offer up sane, fairly normal bronies.
WHY U TAKE DOWN POST?! Well, we already have enough crazy bronies who want a shot at fame....
ReplyDeleteAnd now for something on topic: good comic. Now perusing artist's other stuff.
ReplyDeleteThank you for deleting the post guys, it was a bad idea to for any bronies to go anywhere near that company.
ReplyDeleteNow back to what this community does best, awesome fan content!
ReplyDeletethat was funny
ReplyDelete@cursormortis The 'sane, fairly normal' people don't call themselves 'Bronies'.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out well and it seemed like he nailed ( or she ) nailed every character well in the comic strip.
ReplyDeleteok since last post was erased i won't talk about it and i'll just enjoy this comic and well let's see what happens
ReplyDeleteOh god that banner.
ReplyDeleteThis will make no sense if you didn't watch Star Trek TNG.
ReplyDeleteBut apparently all of us did so it's not a problem.
I'm immortal again! Omnipotent again!
ReplyDeleteYes, oh yes! I wanted that joke to be made forever. I really like Q and that waso ne of my favourite parts.
ReplyDeleteIm glad that previous post was removed, it was too risky.
The description of this is funny to me. Fluffy doesn't 'use' vectors, he makes flash objects and poses them into the images and comics you see. He has an object for pretty much every character.
ReplyDeleteI loved this comic, for me, it actually almost felt like an episode lol
ReplyDeletegreat and quite believable story so far!
ReplyDelete@ no Will
ReplyDeleteI would say that my level of sanity is... Average.
My normality is also... Slightly below average, but that doesn't mean anyth-
Muffins.
Well made comics, had me laughing. But I can't help but remain just a little skeptical of Discord...
ReplyDelete@Flutterfan
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Star Trek.
Never. <.<
Dat Scene. Over here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96jPvL85MjM
ReplyDeleteBetter let's forget the documentary and enjoy the comic.
ReplyDelete#1 Yay, discord is back!
#2 Rainbow Dash had a wingboner. Lol´d
#3 "Dont lose your sparkles, Twilight" LOL :D. Looks like Pinkie Pie miss the chocolate rain (may it be Discord's gift :D?)
#4 Well not chocolate rain but...Drugs ಠ_ಠ?
Despite not watching anything Star Trek, I found it hilarious.
ReplyDeleteIt sort of dwaned off into a "riiiight" territory on the last page, but still funny.
I got the reference because I saw a clip of this scene in Star Trek. I miss Discord, as he didn't really seem to do anything that bad, just...different. Plus he had so much power, it seemed pretty weird that he got beaten so easily, almost as if he let it happen. Which would make sense if he could get out of stone just as easily as last time.
ReplyDeleteNow this is what I wish they would do in the actual show, it would be awesome for them to have him just come every once in a while to mess with them but in that funny not messed up way...
ReplyDeleteAt the very least, a believable comic it definitely was. Funny too, though the ending was a bit ambiguous.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the post about the cable channel requesting bios?
ReplyDeleteThere...there must be more. Needs to be more! xD
ReplyDeleteI heard the whole scene in my head, complete with voices and a grouchy Picard. Rainbow made me laugh, it was brilliant.
ReplyDeleteperhaps im biased as that is one of my favourite scenes but i really liked it. Discord being free is a nice touch.
If he behaves I suppose he can stay free.
@no Will
ReplyDelete"The 'sane, fairly normal' people don't call themselves 'Bronies'."
I'm actually in agreement here--the first step to being judged as a single entity is to label yourself under a group. Especially a group that ends in -y (or -ies in the plural) and/or starts with a monosyllabic noun and/or is a pun. There's another group that fits all three--guess which one that is? I'm a "guy who really likes the MLP cartoon and fan works."
Teehee, Rainbow Dash is Worf. Seems to act the same, always rushing headlong into battle and getting tossed around. Makes for a hilarious scene because in the Star Trek clip, Worf looked sad when Q took the women away.
ReplyDeleteMany lols were had: this is truly how I wished it ended.
ReplyDeleteThis comic was just beautiful and is now in my headcanon since I didn't think Discord was really that bad. If he had that much power and he really wanted to, he could have curbstomped everyone.
ReplyDeleteDue to it being a cartoon for little girls and only a small timeframe to show the action, the animators had to do what they did. But this...this is the way I'm now imagining things will have gone. Hurrah!
@[ger]Brony1 ohh that scene was cool thanks for pointing that out
ReplyDeletenow i feel like watching star trek
This comic just . . . let's put it this way, Star Trek and Ponies are now together at last.
ReplyDeleteEngage
@dublio
ReplyDeleteI second this as fannonical.
@no Will
ReplyDeleteBronies are adult fans of this show, you don't have to be insane or abnormal to like this show.
First time commenter!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this, even though I never caught an episode of TNG with Q in it. Guess I missed out.
I do hope the creators bring Discord back for another go. He was a riot. But, this comic is a nice way to get my fix.
Does anypony know if there has been a action figure released for Discord yet? He's one that I wouldn't mind having at my workdesk.
My god that comic was beautiful
ReplyDeleteI really liked this comic, (because of or despite of the blatant trek reference.)
ReplyDeleteBut part of me was hoping for this kind of ending more than any other ending, just because I really did like discord, A lot.
For those who don't get the ending, in the Star Trek episode this comic references, Q gives Data a gift for the help he was given, and that gift was a long, hard laugh and the happy feeling that goes with it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the picture in the banner is the picture I wish we'd had a week before the second season started. SEVEN DAYS...
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteIs this Tom?
ReplyDeleteNo, this is Patrick.
Oh Q you never change.
ReplyDeleteI have never watched Star Trek, and this is still one of my favorite comics
ReplyDeleteThis entire event should become canon. It's exactly what I wished would happen at the end of S2E2!
ReplyDeleteI feel it was a bit of a mistake to take Discord out of the game so quickly into the season. He's just such a lovable villain it seems a shame that he only gets two episodes. This would be nice as canon like others have suggested.
ReplyDeletethis was awesome. once again two of my favorite series have become one.
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved when Discord gave Applejack Berry Punch and Colgate as groupies. And then he gave them to Rainbow Dash... who got a wingboner. Lmao. I love when he picks up and hugs Pinkie and when he boops Twilight's nose. Too cute. And then everyone making fun of Rarity at the end, haha. Great comic. <3
ReplyDeleteWell.
ReplyDeleteNow I don't have to write THAT fanfic :D
Couldn't have done it better anyway.
So very VERY excellent.
Great comic!
ReplyDeleteColgate and Berry Punch are looking for a three way.
ReplyDeleteI busted up laughing at Discord's face in comic 3. He looks so goofy. XD
ReplyDeleteHah... I loved that episode of Star Trek, and Applejack as Riker and Dash as Worf with the groupies was perfect. Discord is too much fun not to bring back next season.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I remember that scene in TNG...reproduced it pretty faithfully I'd say...
ReplyDeleteNever watched Star Trek, but I loved this comic anyway. I think they may very well bring Discord back every now and then throughout the show- he has proven to be a very funny and popular character.
ReplyDeleteThe artist mentioned losing motivation partway through the comic, and I think it shows; still, it's well done. I wish it hadn't followed the original scene quite that closely, but he put in enough original gags and character-based tweaks to make it worth reading. And even though I'm tired of Dash being portrayed as a lesbian, I loved her and Applejack's exchange at the end of page two. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for people saying Discord really wasn't evil, he did oppress and harass the ponies for millennia before Celestia and Luna defeated him the first time. Which doesn't mean he couldn't learn a lesson and agree to reign in his chaos some (read: a lot) in exchange for freedom. Like most fans, I really really hope they find a way to bring him back at some point...
This is my favorite comic by far. Leaves me with a warm-hearted feeling. Thank you so much for making this.
ReplyDelete"defenitly".
ReplyDeleteSeth, I am disappoint.
I here I thought the Q references could not possibly get more blatant. Very good comic
ReplyDeleteBout damn time we got the mariachi band from "Déjà Q".
ReplyDeleteThis new banner is the creepiest thing ever. Pinkie Pie is fucking scary!
ReplyDeleteI don't trust Discord any further than I could throw him.
ReplyDeleteAnd considering he's just a two dimensional pixelated picture...
It's pretty obvious that I couldn't throw him very far.
This could easily become an awesome fanfic...
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
This is exactly what happened at the end of Deja Q isn't it? Right down to the mariachi band and the laugh at the end.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome.
So awesome.
ReplyDeleteI consider this as canon "episode 2.5" until proven otherwise. Deal with it.
What a loving homage to Star Trek: TNG.
ReplyDelete@no Will, Do you say that about fandoms in general? For example, only insane Doctor Who fans call themselves "Whovians"? Or cheeseheads for Green Bay Packers fans, or browncoats for Firefly fans?
ReplyDeleteShould've titled it "How It Should Have Ended"
ReplyDeleteheh....this actually gave me more closure than the real ending
ReplyDeleteHey, you got Star Trek in my Pony! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world was in the last post?
ReplyDeleteI'm aware that half of that was drawn from Star Trek. I'm also aware that I was literally laughing out loud through the entire thing. Oh god, Discord's puppy dog eyes. I'm never going to get that image out of my mind.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe nopony's said this yet: Applejack doesn't need Discord's fantasy mares. (I'm actually a little surprised AJ didn't use Riker's line herself, though the flat what was a very good substitute.)
ReplyDeleteAnd there's a follow-up: Patrick
ReplyDeleteOU CONTRAIRE MON PONYVILLIANS! HE'S BACK!!!
ReplyDeleteIts... actually heartwarming. Silly as it may sound, but even after all Discord did, that's actually seems like a good ending for the series. Sure, he seems like a Karma Houdini, but by the Pony verse rules, it seems appropiate somehow.
ReplyDeleteGreat comic
A great comic. Lost control of my laughter on page 2 though, hahahhhh...Lesbow Dash jokes.
ReplyDelete
