#1 I'll read later, since I have to leave for class soon #2 THE TRIXIE BRAIN AM WINNING AGAIN! I AM THE GREETEST! NOW I AM LEAVING PONYVILLE FOR NO RAISIN!
I am thrilled to see Luna getting so much attention, but the show has been giving more cameos to others as well, especially Derpy and Big Mac. I needs more fan love of them in addition to Luna.
#1 Is brilliant, I loved that song. Though Nightmare should have known singing a villain song almost always leads to defeat. Especially when the pony you try to let fall to their death has wings.
I didn't expect it to be so long and well done though.
#2 It took me a moment to get where this was from but oh dear. I laughed, I do not do that though, i'd lose my balance, perhaps Lyra could teach me there.
#1 I think I enjoyed Past Sins too much because I was desperately hoping for it to be a Nyx-Nightmare Moon song. But still it was a particularly awesome comic right there.
This is one of the greatest comic posts ever. I swear I now have a grin on my face that would rival a certain pink party pony. Either one of these is enough to be overwhelmingly awesome. But both? What are you trying to do, Seth, wreck ED into singularity of awesome?!
Yeah, when I saw the title I was expecting Nightmare Moon just doing "Be Prepared" with minor tweaks... but a total rewrite of the song? Somebody needs to sing this!
Please, Cereal V is clearly crazy if he doesn't want any villain songs. Everyone knows that Villain Songs are the Best songs; it's a proven scientific fact. Just look at this list I've compiled: Be Prepared (see above), Poor Unfortunate Souls ('the Little Mermaid'), "the Phantom of the Opera", I've Got Friends on the Other Side ('the Princess and the Frog'), the Imperial March ('Star Wars'), See My Vest ('the Simpsons'), Robot Hell ('Futurama), 'Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog', all of these http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/17640-top-11-villian-songs, this thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjJWbtCShqo, and most of 'the Nightmare Before Christmas' (I know Jack Skellington isn't technically evil but he is pretty dark so just give me this one, okay everyone?).
All of them are Villain Songs and all of them are EPIC!!
Well for a Villain song, we need a villain. And Our only main one is currently incased in Stone. Apparantly there is another Villain coming along though, so we shall wait and see.
I'll be honest. I haven't been a fan of any of the music in the show up to this point. Some people go crazy over it, but it doesn't cut it for me. Especially the theme song. I cringe every time I hear it. But, if they were to take a page from disney's book when it comes to music like in #1, that might actually turn out pretty well. We'll just have to see.

Futurama and Dexter's lab, this is just too much win!
ReplyDelete#1 I'll read later, since I have to leave for class soon
ReplyDelete#2 THE TRIXIE BRAIN AM WINNING AGAIN! I AM THE GREETEST! NOW I AM LEAVING PONYVILLE FOR NO RAISIN!
Also, SECOND!
I think the DA summary wins:
ReplyDeleteWTF is this?
@Jelfes
ReplyDeleteFuturama? Where? The first one was a Lion King song, that had nothing to do with Futurama, or am I missing something here?
Had no idea where #1 was going at first.
ReplyDeleteThen, I shit bricks.
I am thrilled to see Luna getting so much attention, but the show has been giving more cameos to others as well, especially Derpy and Big Mac. I needs more fan love of them in addition to Luna.
ReplyDeleteBoth great cross-overs. Celestia as Dede (Didi? i dunno) made me lol
ReplyDelete#1 Lion King reference :D.
ReplyDelete#2 I laughed so bad at this one.
It's Dee Dee.
ReplyDeleteTHAT WAS OUTSTANDING!
ReplyDeleteEven with the name giving me full warning, I still was not prepared for 'Be Prepared'. Excellent, excellent piece of work.
ReplyDeleteHeh, the first one was pretty awesome and Nightmare Moon definitely would make a good Scar.
ReplyDeleteThe second one was both cute and awesome. I believe I recall the episode where the concept originated from.
I was just about to tell the artist of #1 to send it to EqD, and suddenly I see it here. #2 made me nostalgia pretty hard.
ReplyDelete#1 Is brilliant, I loved that song. Though Nightmare should have known singing a villain song almost always leads to defeat.

ReplyDeleteBut still it was a particularly awesome comic right there.
#2 Hehe, Luna's Laboratory.
@Acriaos
ReplyDeleteJelfes is talking about the second comic. The Great and Powerful Trixie Brain is a reference from Futurama.
Somepony definitly needs to sing #1 to the music of "Be Prepared". It would be the most awesome thing since Odyssey's Discord :D
ReplyDelete#1 Not too shabby overall of a NMM version of the song. Though now it seems that song is stuck in my head. lol
ReplyDelete#2 Oh! There's widdle Woona and her abacus. <3 But haha, Dexter's... errr, Luna's Laboratory! The roles fit too. I could totally see this. :P
Two Huge-Ass Comics Edition!
ReplyDeleteSeriously people! This iPod can only zoom in so far!
I... really want to sing #1. I have the right voice (well, a male villain voice), but my mic is only semi-decent.
ReplyDeleteShould I still do it?
@ZigZag Yes. Dear God man, do it.
ReplyDelete#1 Is awesome and best viewed while listening to the original on youtube in another tab. ...Even if only half the words match.
ReplyDeleteSomeone voice this! Please!
@P. Pony Ponyson
ReplyDeleteI know, I hate when I'm reading the site on a mobile device and can't bring some insanely giant file in to full resolution.
The comics were fun though. Lion King, Dexter's Lab and Futurama is one odd bundle of references, but they all worked.
Its just so fun to go watch be prepared when you get bored of work. It cheers you right up!

ReplyDeleteYou're crazy, Cereal. :P
ReplyDeleteA villain song would make this show /the best/.
...I mean, it already is the beset, but it would make me love it more than anything else could.
I think Discord really should've had his own song.
ReplyDelete@ZigZag
ReplyDeleteHow do you think he was defeated in the first place?
He tried to do a villain song, its why he looked like he was singing as a statue.
That second comic. What the hell.
ReplyDeleteI think I mean that in the best possible way...
@Acriaos Yeah, it's the second comic. It's from this scene.
ReplyDeleteawesome cartoon references!
ReplyDeleteThey're both very funny comics; I'm especially impressed with the tweaking of the lyrics for the first one, and the art in the second.
ReplyDeleteYeah, when I saw the title I was expecting Nightmare Moon just doing "Be Prepared" with minor tweaks... but a total rewrite of the song? Somebody needs to sing this!

this thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjJWbtCShqo,

@dinodude0091
ReplyDeleteAlso "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" and most of the songs written by Voltaire.

ReplyDeleteCereal is so completely wrong that he has cycled around to right again then kept going, and now is once again wrong.
ReplyDeleteI was totally hoping for an epic villain song for Discord too. At four episodes in, though, I am just jonesing for any kind of song right now.
MLP + Lion King? Yes, yes please.
ReplyDeleteSoarin'= pies.
ReplyDeleteMale Shadowbolt/Nega Soarin'= cupcakes.
@Celestia
ReplyDelete"You sly dog! You got me theme singing!"
I'll be honest. I haven't been a fan of any of the music in the show up to this point. Some people go crazy over it, but it doesn't cut it for me. Especially the theme song. ReplyDeleteLoled at the abacus in Luna's lab.
ReplyDeleteOne comic is a Dexter's Lab reference...
ReplyDelete...and the other is the Lion King pony-fied...
My life is complete.
@Celestia
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great if we had a flashback episode of Celestia and Luna vs Discord where we get to hear his villain song?
The Futuram reference in the second one is awesome.
ReplyDelete1.My Body is not ready
ReplyDelete2.Luna's Laboratory. Also Trixie being a big brain.
1. Excellent word for word.
ReplyDelete2. Who didn't see this coming?
1. I was amazed at how well the song was rewritten. Brilliant job!
ReplyDelete2. The art style was so close to Dexter's! :3 And then Futurama, oh my. Amazing work.
1-Reminds me I haven't seen the Lion King in a really long time. Time to find my old VHS player...
ReplyDelete2-Yes! The roles fit so perfectly!
Crud,that wore out my Jeremy Irons voice, so I had to call in my Jim Cummings voice.
