I skimmed it very lightly, it looked interesting but the description wasn't all to good at drawing me in... luckily I don't tend to judge books by their covers.
Wondering if the king really is her father... also who her sister's father will be. Perhaps her parents will sweep it under the rug? Perhaps her mother will meet the Sun god and give him a "but what a way to go!" send off after Celestia takes over his duties?
Hello peeps, author here. Shoulda thought through that description, eh xD Still plugging away at part 2, but season 2 is getting in the way of my headcanon. Cheers for having a look, anyway!
A good read, liked the little bit at the end. Read it while listening to "To the Ancient Land" from the Shadow of the Colossus OST and "Auriel's Ascension from the Oblivion OST. Went together very well. It's always cool to read about the "dark times" before the Princess' reign and it's got me curious about Luna. Can't wait for part 2!
> "What with? Earth ponies," Utherd spat the words out. "Barely capable labourers and worse soldiers. -Huhhh... The author must SURELY have confused the real Earth Ponies with something else... because, well, you know... EARTH ponies, the same kind of ponies that can't fly or use magic, so they ALWAYS have to rely on their physical strength (and development of technologies and inventions to help them doing stuff they can't do without wings/magic, as time goes on) and endurance (even more so in those 'ancient' times). The same that have an innate link to the earth, like pegasi with the sky and unicorn with magic ? Yeah... doesn't start well.
... Secret sister of the Queen. King wanting to kill the ''abnormal'' child of his wife (or wanting a boy and not a girl), to save his reputation. Which child happens to be the(a) chosen-one, with a great future. Which future is to unite all under one banner ... ... Yeah, those are some of the classic classics (or is it 'classics classic' ?) from good old books ...
>Pony now fights pony, and the sun grows dimmer by the day. -They need to replace the AA-Fusion batteries of their Sun ?
>"I think it's about time we started a volume of your own, my faithful student," she said to nobody but the dusty books. -Hmm. Well, this part does end on an interesting note.
... So far, for a first part, it's 'ok'. A bit mild for the moment, but I think there's potential ...
(oh, and, yeah... as someone else said : It needs a more 'interesting' description.)

ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or does the description sound icky?
ReplyDelete... Nulono, that's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteYou're obviously the only pony to think of that.
Because I totally didn't think of it too.
Nope.
e.e
ReplyDeleteIt's not sticky. She was born and then stuff happened. This is about that stuff.
Do you think we WOUDLN'T put a warning of some kind on it if it was what you implied?
@Nulono
ReplyDeleteNow you've ruined it for everypony. D:
Nines, bullshit, you're thinking the same thing.
ReplyDeletedamn internet, corrupting me.
Hmm. I guess its a one shot? I wouldn't have guessed that until the very end though. Definitely has a series in it. Either way, I enjoyed it enough.

ReplyDeleteNo, you're totally and completely wrong.
My mind isn't in the gutter at all.
I swear it isn't.
No bad thoughts.
Nope.
@Baree
ReplyDeleteI know this was originally written as a stand alone, but it has an incomplete tag, so I'm guessing he expanded on it.
A good beginning.
ReplyDeleteSPOILER AHEAD!!!

@Nullh
ReplyDeleteWell, just have it so Discord takes over the world between now and when the sisters become the rulers.
@Baree
ReplyDeleteThat thing has a ''incomplete'' label apparently...
...Oh my god. O_O It's my Pony art of King Arthur ! \o/
ReplyDelete@ Nullh
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Take all the time you need to get it the way you want. If this chapter is any indication, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
