VastaKustutaFIRST! This seems interesting, reading i will!
VastaKustuta@Casper Dammit!!!
VastaKustutaDouble rainbow all the way across the sky!!!
VastaKustutaOh for Luna's sake, good job getting double rainbow stuck in my head again and making me want to watch Back to the Future all at the same time.
VastaKustutaFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRSTTT!!! I DID IT!
VastaKustutaIf that secondary tag isn't a clue, I don't know what is. *will read soon-ish*
VastaKustutaI smell GENIUS!!! Epic so far, will be keeping an eye on it!
VastaKustutaOMG IT'S A DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!
VastaKustutaWhat does this mean? It's starting to look like a TRIPLE rainbow!
VastaKustutaDoesn't the author have another story with exactly the same name on Fimfiction?

VastaKustutaWhat's weird is that it's an entirely different story.. that also involves time travel....I'm so confused.
VastaKustutaI think this story is actually called "No way out"
When I saw the title I thought this was a repost of the fic where Rainbow Dash gets cloned.
VastaKustutaLooks interesting, I'll give it a shot.
Needs a bit of fixing on grammatical parts and separation of character lines from each other.
VastaKustutaOtherwise, I'll need to see more before I can draw a conclusion.
I thought it was a similar fic just like Glomkettle but turns out it's very different. It's interesting so far, looking forward to see more.
VastaKustutaSorry for the double post, found out that there is more. Here's the rest.

Everyone referring to this one?
VastaKustutahttp://www.fimfiction.net/story/836/Double-Rainbow
Yeah, strange, same writer, title, and description but this seems to be a very different story. Nonetheless it looks interesting though.

VastaKustutaWhoops. Seems I owe dublio a pony cola.
VastaKustutaALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY
VastaKustutaDerp, oops. xD Guess you're right, this is a different story.
VastaKustutaAnd then we shipped RD with herself.......
VastaKustuta*flutteryay*
There are 3 stories with this title now as far as I know.
VastaKustutaOne is selfcest clop.
One is completely random ridiculousness.
One is this.
The link is for a story called No Way Out, not Double Rainbow.
VastaKustutaCereal! Whas goin on?
@DPV111
VastaKustutaWhat's really weird is that this one and the one on FiM Fiction are by the same author and seem to be riffing off of the same premise.
@DPV111
VastaKustuta"The link is for a story called No Way Out, not Double Rainbow.
Cereal! Whas goin on? "
D'oh! I just realized that too...someone dun goofed. (Besides several other readers and myself.)

Curse the lack of an edit comment button! If only I could go back in time before I posted and removed my comment so that I wouldn't look silly. But then if I did that, I might be confused because I already posted said comment before and my comment didn't show up, so I would keep trying to repost it. Then before I know it, I would have accidently reposted it octoputle times without knowing it. Thus leading to a wish to go back in time and....
VastaKustuta@dublio
VastaKustutaDude...there's a simple solution to situations as such as these.
It's called whiskey.
...my Dash ship story starts out with semi-crazy Dash...
VastaKustutaSeems to be a popular idea.
Well, back to the drawing board.
whoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoa........ mom?
VastaKustuta@wackyteen
VastaKustutaTo be fair having looked at the first chapter of the actual Double Rainbow story (linked to in the comments not the main post) Dash only appears to be semi-crazy until we get to the explanation...at the end of the first chapter.
So it's possible you might have something completely different in mind.
Aww, the Double Rainbow link I posted is incomplete and the fanfic "No Way Out" seems to only have the one chapter. I can't wait until they're both finished, it's pretty interested for both stories thus far. Never would have thought I'd care so much about fanfiction before I met My Little Pony. I love this fanbase.
VastaKustutaHer cutie mark is backwards in that drawing. It also has too many colors.
VastaKustutaYay! The link seems to have been fixed!
VastaKustutaSo.... Soarin and RD are Doc Brown's parents?
VastaKustutaWhat.
Filly Twilight vs. Rainbow Dash:
VastaKustuta"I've had enough practical jokes for one evening! Good night, future filly!"
"No, wait, Twi! The bruise, the bruise on your head! I know how that happened! You told me the whole story. You were studying in your library and you were levitating the Big Book of Equestrian Facts, and your magic slipped and it fell and hit you on the head, and that's when you came up with the idea for the Flux Reversal spell, which is... what makes time travel... possible."
When I first saw it, I facepalmed and said "oh you have GOT to be kidding me," because I thought it'd be an update, maybe a story 2, for that Double Rainbow [Directors Cut] thing that was so mindblowing. Then I looked into it. I'll definitely read it.

VastaKustutaTHIS IS THE GREATEST SENTENCE EVER WRITTEN.
(Sorry, I had to go back in time and stop myself from making that typo.)
Great Scott! Confound these ponies! And those ones too!
VastaKustutaI'm extremely confused.
VastaKustutaJust write the ending so I know how all of this ends before my brain implodes
When this Fic gets 88 comments we're going to see some serious ~yay~!
VastaKustutaWhat happened here? The author had another time travel story called No Way Out that was original linked but not it's fixed and the author took that down? o.O
VastaKustutaOr was No Way Out someone else's? If so, anyone have a link?
Still, man, this story is awesome. It should have a comedy tag though (does on FiMFiction).
I mean....
"Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow Dash watched Rainbow Dash from a distance. Dash and Dash still hadnt gotten a clear explanation from Dash about what they needed Dash for, and any time either of them tried asking a question, they were quickly shushed".
Tehehehehe.
"Convoluted plot" doesn't even begin to describe this mess! Bad Twilight and Dash, no playing around with time loops! :D
VastaKustutaI am on Chapter 10. I have no idea what is going on or where this is going. I am a damned man if I can concoct an explanation for why Scoots is now time-traveling too. That scene with the three Twi's is giving me a headache. How could all the Rainbow Dashes have timelines that flow continuously? I am afraid that there is no explanation, but I bet the author's notes explain it pretty well if they actually exist.
VastaKustutaThis comment is coming from somepony who understands the plot of Inception, and can explain it to other people.
Scratch that.
This comment is coming from somepony who understands the plot of Donny Darko and is able to explain it to other people.
No, scratch that too.
This comment is coming from somepony who understands the plot of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and is able to explain it to other people. Not only that, but synchronise it with all the movies and the mangas that I have read of it.
Dear god, what have you done?! I am so confused?!?
I'll admit, I think I know what that thing in the back of Twilight's mind is. She is approaching the revelation that if she doesn't invent time travel, she won't, and then everything will return to normal. Unless, it doesn't. In which case, I'm scared.
Can't wait for Chapter 11!
Haha things are getting rediculously hectic. Can't wait to see what happens.
VastaKustutaI think this'd actually be a really good plot for the actual show, except for the shipping.
VastaKustutaI didn't care for it. Meh.
VastaKustutaTHIS FIC IS OUT OF ITS F**KING MIND
VastaKustutaI think there is something seriously wrong with me. This fic is making perfect sense and I AM NOT CONFUSED AT ALL.
VastaKustutaOnce a fic reaches the point of...
VastaKustuta"Twilight Sparkle, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Applejack, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow Dash all stood around the chalkboard in the middle of the library."
You give up trying to understand, and just grab on for the ride.
@shadefox
VastaKustutaYour comment is what ensured that I have to read this.
....and people aren't commenting on this because?
VastaKustutaOr are they all doing it at FimFiction?
Just read up to Chapter 13 in one sitting.
VastaKustutaWHAT......THE.......FUCK.
This is brilliantly insane and making my head hurt. From here on out, I'm just getting a bottle of something alcoholic and going along for the ride.
Hopefully the author's notes will explain it all at the end...
@Melodia
VastaKustutaIt's got roughly the same number of comments there as here. Is... is 50ish considered not many? It's only a 4 star.
ALSO, is it considered bad form to comment on your own page like this?
You got a feature on EqD? And you call yourself theworstwriter, congrats!
VastaKustutaOh Celestia...please...no more. My brain hurts and I'm pretty dang sure Albert Einstein is rolling over in his grave right now because of this. oh lord my head >.<
VastaKustuta@theworstwriter
VastaKustutaDon't think so! Most of the fics I've read have the authors engaged in awesome conversations with the readers, it's very gratifying for everyone involved.
Poor Scootaloo, Twilight is trying to fatten her up so she can have a chicken dinner....wait.

VastaKustutaThis is the only fanfic I have ever ENJOYED having my mind scarred by...
VastaKustutaany of you folks have a link to the no way out fic? I kinda liked it..
VastaKustutaNever before has Trevor enjoyed having his head hurt! Major kudos to your, good sir! Trevor salutes you, and shakes you warmly by the hoof!
VastaKustuta(*SPOILER* Okay, wait, so Scoots is the daughter, somehow, of RD and AJ? Lune help them out or something? AJ dies in childbirth? Sure hope those questions are answered eventually...)
~ Magical Trevor, Minstrel of Equestria
This fic turned my brain into spaghetti.
VastaKustutaWhich I am now eating.
Gotta admit, it tastes kinda good.
Yay time!
VastaKustutaThe only way I can read this story is to take a back seat to my own mind and store little bits of plot separately in their own little mind-drawers. I've never been so detached reading a story.
VastaKustutaYet for some reason I still keep reading. Hoping that you're going to tie up this story and explain everything that happened, as chronologically as possible, in one big info-dump.
Best of luck to you @_@
GaPT:
VastaKustutaEvery question has an answer. Some will be spelled out more obviously than others. (*SPOILER* Exactly how AJ and RD conceived the child is unimportant, sure magic or Luna or whatever. All that's important is that they had a kid and the kid ended up being Scoots.)
D3ad pon3:
Time noodles are best noodles.
Metapsionic:
Storing little bits of plot separately is actually pretty handy for following this. Each scene is a jigsaw piece for a puzzle that (until Ponyville #2) only connects in a straight line. At the end of THIS scene there are two AJs and three Dashes. At the start of THIS scene there are two AJs and three Dashes... hmm, maybe this goes here...
Of course, once you get other timelines colliding with the main one, that comfortable 'linearity' goes away. Fortunately at that point, the old looping stops tangling itself and you don't have to deal with multiple timelines tied in knots around each other. Instead they form a rather neat and tidy braid.
What is this, I don't even
VastaKustutaEh, makes perfect sense to me. Then again I figured out time had mass by the time I was in the 6th grade, so I might not be the best measuring stick.
VastaKustuta@theworstwriter
VastaKustutaoh dude... your name is so ironic after this fic.
I've posted most of my comments on FIM Fiction, so if you care, read them there, but I will reassert the general theme here:
This is either the most well thought out, well conceived and executed narrative in the history of fan fiction (hell, if it weren't for the pony plot premise this could freaking rival the best sci-fi writing in history) granted with a few liberties taken with the whole time travel thing (although you did explain that away with the whole 'no ones done it before/never happened before, so who knows?' bit)...
or it is a disconnect continuity mindfuck of an amazingly entertaining time travel story.
either way? it is a travesty that this has so few comments and ratings. hell, Past Sins wasn't as entertaining as this! (imo) If by some miracle you actually have this twisted clusterfuck of time travel continuity mapped out perfectly in your head then you are either a genius with no business spending time writing pony fiction or this really is as insanely out of whack as I slightly suspect it is.
I await the ending more eagerly than any other fic I've ever read. its gunna be a doozy.
AAaahhhh!!!!! Holy crud, this is confusing! I mean, I think I'm able to follow everything, but holy jeeze! This story is certainly getting crazy.
VastaKustutaSomepony must give you a better nickname STAT!
VastaKustutaI mean, this is by far the most entertaining piece of fiction regarding time travel i've read in a looong time. And most of the fun comes from assembling the plot in my mind. And it's difficult, really!
But maybe the fact i enjoy this story comes because i've read a lot about time travel, and it's a subject i really like. And to have this complex story, and with ponies! You are just incredibly talented.
I expect the conclusion of this story with excitement. Keep it coming!
Oh, and about the size of the chapters, though discouraging at first i think they help to digest the storyline a lot better. Plus they look like those syories they used to publish in science-fiction magazines years ago.
TL:DR You rock!
I got lost after the third Rainbow Dash arrived on the scene.
VastaKustutaBut I want to keep reading...
I enjoyed it.
VastaKustutaUp until the totally underwhelming ending.
>>Complete
VastaKustuta...How?
@Kits
VastaKustutaThere's plenty wrong with this story (I mean let's face it, I'm the worst writer!) but uh... underwhelming ending?
Sure I can't do an Applejack accent and there's barely ever any description of anything so all the sections and chapters are short as hell and the emotional dialogues all fall flat and the mood shifts at inappropriate speeds and it's confusing as all get out (partially by design) and it still leaves a fair number of things to the reader's imagination (this point can shift from positive to negative depending on opinion) and... a bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now.
But underwhelming ending? Is my writing so bad and my plot so confusing that what just happened was not clear? Or do you mean to say that I made it too obvious and you saw it coming? Or... or what?
I has a sad now.
I just read all of the story in one go for the first time ever, and I managed to follow the entire thing through. Got lost a couple times, but I got righted by the end of the chapter every time. @theworstwriter, if you seriously kept all of that in your head the entire time you were writing, you deserve a freaking medal. I am impressed with this story, and especially how you made it all come about. I think, to truly understand how epic your story is, though, I'll have to wait a week and reread the entire thing.
VastaKustuta.....buh?!
VastaKustuta@Haimerej
VastaKustutaJust did this myself. It is a glorious read, possibly the best mindfuck in the history of mindfucks. I loved Scootaloo in this, even though I have no idea what happened to put her where she is. @theworstwriter Please make some sort of full chart of the timelines if you can. I am so curious to find out what happened to the loose ends.
@Rainbow Dash I completely agree with all of that. Also, in my circle of brony's, I am the one believed to be the most like Rainbow Dash of us. Coincidence? I think not.
VastaKustutaRainbow Dash: "I HATE time travel."
VastaKustutaMy words exactly. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to lie down and run all this through my head. I'm so glad I don't have school later today (it's 1:30 am) because my mind has been blown to bits, melted, poured into a mold of my brain, cooled, then blown to bits again, having the bits scatter across all dimensions and timelines.
In other words, you are a true genius for writing this and keeping enough sanity to reply to comments. I look forward to any other stories (if at all) you put out.
This is actually not that hard to keep up with. It helps to read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
VastaKustutaI swear, this story...
VastaKustutaAlrighty; now that I've had some sleep and have sorted through all of the things... who wants me to make an alternate ending?
VastaKustuta@Haimerej
VastaKustutaPlease. If it would make everything make more sense, then please, for the love of Luna, do it.
~ Magical Trevor, Minstrel of Equestria
Bleh. Not worth the time it took to read. The story is so fragmented it's not enjoyable, and the ending basically says, "And everything worked out fine, I promise."
VastaKustutaThe big killer, I think, was the "paradox breaks the rules" bit. At that point we might as well throw the entire rest of the story out the window, because they're now allowed to cut the Gordian Knot and hand-wave whatever the fuck is necessary to fix all the timelines.
If the story followed one iteration of Twilight and/or Dash through a bunch of temporal shenanigans, it would be fun. Instead, we just get fragments of random Twilights and Dashes doing random things at random times. They're not labeled from OUR perspective, even though each one is aware of who and when she is. It's like if we took BttF1 and BttF2, clipped up the scenes, then showed them in a random order. It's all THERE, but there's no context to the isolated scenes. Maybe you could fit them all back together using contextual clues, but... why should you even bother? Just to know?
Pulp Fiction was a simple story made up of vignettes. Each vignette was compelling enough in its own right to make you want to fit the story together, and the plot was simple enough that it wasn't too much trouble to do so. This, though? I quickly got frustrated with pointless scenes, mumbled "fuckit," and hoped it would all be explained by the end. It wasn't.
TL;DR: If you can't be arsed to explain the plot clearly, I can't be arsed to expend the effort to figure it out. 2 stars.
@LordOfTheWrongs
VastaKustutaYeah, that. I was really disappointed with the lack of a wrap-up. It felt like there was a missing chapter where Twilight figured out everything and went to face off with MasterTwi.
@LordOfTheWrongs
VastaKustutaI'm a TERRIBLE writer. I'm not going to try to claim my story is any more or less compelling than it is, and I'm perfectly okay with getting some two star ratings.
But I assure you there is NO hand waving, and places where you think there is are points you don't properly understand. Same with the ending. The ending is ABSOLUTELY NOT "And everything worked out fine, I promise."
I have failed to tell this story SO BADLY, that a significant number of people have walked away with a drastically incorrect understanding of the ending. I think you might want to change that 2 to a 1.5.
"Three Rainbow Dashes had decided to ignore the spectacle and discuss getting some food. Rainbow Dash couldn’t stop thinking about what she could do with THREE Applejacks - not that she’d get the chance. Rainbow Dash had snuck off to a corner with Applejack."
VastaKustuta^ this has got to be my favorite paragraph in a fanfic ever.
this thing seriously needs to be tagged "time shenanigans"
VastaKustuta@Magical Trevor
VastaKustutaI'll make an alternate ending after NaNoWriMo has finished.
You know, that... Actually makes sense! The ONLY problem with it: we had to be told it was a metaphor. It needed to be slightly more obvious IMO, but whatever! Guess one is reading it again now! XD
VastaKustuta@Magical Trevor
VastaKustutaWell, I did hint at Twilight and metaphors whenever I had the chance. She was specifically making metaphors of and about everything around her, but 'more obvious' is the operating phrase here so point taken.
By the Dragons, that made my head hurt. Epic props for that! I enjoyed reading it. Though, and I probably missed something, I have no idea exactly what happened at the end. The universe imploded, but that's all I gathered @.@ All the different timelines and paradoxes and whatnot. . .
VastaKustutaOH GOD
VastaKustutaMY BRAIN
