I'm not all that interested in the bloopers (mostly because I feel stupid for not noticing them, especially the Freckles...) but I have to say I LOVE the music.
lol I am supposed to be studying regional scenarios but FUCK YOU OCTAVIO (my teachers name... yeah I know poor Octavia:( ) I am watching pony videos tonight :D
Whats truly impressive is that I was completely oblivious to all of what are now glaringly obvious errors. What has been seen cannot be unseen... this is gonna make season one difficult.
even more impressive is someone was dedicated enough/observant enough to pick ALL of these out FRAME BY FRAME. geezus
I love watching these kind of videos. not to make fun of the animators, but to see how the guys who find these errors play with them. aka the 1-up sound with every loss of freckles. also. can we really count half the errors that involved pinkie? what with her 4th wall breaking and all.
I'm allowed to be a Brony and think this video is lame and boring as hell, right? Am I?
Seriously, watching someone go over all of season 1 with an electron microscope and whining (YES, WHINING) about every goddamned molecule that out of place is NOT FUN. I'm all for quality control but this is .. I mean you can't make fun of it by exaggerating because you'd end up quoting the damned thing word for word no matter how extreme and unrealistic you tried to be. And over an HOUR of this? COME ON!
One scene Twilight's mane magically switches to the other side of her horn without any actual head movement (gotta find this one again for episode #)
#17 - Sweetie Belle's front mane curls are both the same color in a couple frames in the boutique with Rarity
#8 - On the same scene they point out Cloudkicker's wings suddenly becoming like a statue, Daisy to her right is looking at a stick that magically picks itself up (offscreen pony perhaps?)
Aaaanddd... I think there's at least one more I'm forgetting. This video is incredibly thorough otherwise.
Wow, that was fun to watch! Great music (especially with how so many songs lined up with the episodes), all the extra little graphics added in.... and so many that looking back on I have to wonder how I missed.
Also, the very ending, with the silent movie part, and Rainbow Dash wanting to be 20% more comfortable... I had to pause the video there I was laughing too hard.
Nice. I never noticed any of them except Twilight's levitation inconsistency in bridle gossip, and they're not huge enough to make a big difference, but it was interesting to see all the animation errors and get my pony fix for the day at the same time.
That was a pretty epic load of bloopers. A little surprised they missed a few though, such as the party hat blooper in Party Of One, though if they've done some vids before they probably covered it in that.
Also, a random, hopefully humorous thought meant in good fun...
Why were we able to catch so many 'inner thigh' cutie marks? Are someponies looking in inappropriate places? Hmmm? (It makes a good excuse though, should someone walk in at the wrong point of time. "No, see this frame here? I'm checking for more bloopers like it! Honest!... And no, I can't explain where my pants went. Maybe that's a blooper too?")
That's a lot of bloopers and trinkets there, but most of them is due to the software they're using - Adobe Flash (mirroring, and unintended glitchups in the final version will be the main reasons). The animators mentioned that there are a lot of layers during those scenes, almost to the point of the software becoming crashed as a result of trying to render the stuff; so they're forced to simplify their stuff a lot; but wow, they managed to keep up the quality...or that they distracted us enough with their fluid animation. Very subtle indeed.
A testament to our love of the show, and also that acknowledging while no one is perfect, the stories and characters are so engaging, many of us miss these bloopers because we're too busy enjoying ourselves. THAT is a testament to the creative team and production crew's love of the show. Well done to all of them, and well done to those behind the creation of this video! :D
I know it's common on Disney's model sheets to have certain details drop from the character design as it moves from close-up, middle ground, far/back ground.
I wonder if something similar was going on here, and it was decided that if AJ was moving at high speeds or not very large, her freckles wouldn't show.
@j I agree, it is a rather boring video and I do not envy the pony that took the time to find all these errors and compile them into this, but I must say it was very thorough(as I'm sure they wanted to be) but sometimes the things that are pointed out are so minor that it annoyed me a little. I made it to about 15 minutes and had enough of the same super pony beat song along with excessive thoroughness and just had to stop watching. Wasn't all bad though, like when Pinkie counted the element spheres wrong, that was a good one.
Just finished watching, hell I was just watching with my little brother who has only actually seen two episodes and plenty of fandom. I loved watching it and me and my brother were laughing plenty. Damn you Rarity, taking advantage of my OCD like that.
Also to anyone who says this is not fun, you have a right to an opinion but I simply hate it when people say things like "Blah and blah blah is not fun!" that is how someone would state a fact, not an opinion. I enjoyed this very very very much and honestly wish I could watch the whole season where the video automatically pauses to point out the errors and then rewinds half a minute so I can see the error in real time. Frankly I wish I had the dedication (Or the right programs even) to view everything frame by frame like that and spend quite some time on each frame to notice everything including those hard to notice inner cutie marks. Can't wait to watch another one when Season 2 comes around! Oh, I think I just made the creator shit his pants... Take your time.
Man those freckles disappear allot. Maybe they'll fix all these things for the DVD? Also, I really hope this was a group effort or something cause otherwise the person that made this somehow has managed to have less of a life than I do.
I think the amount of time that something of this magnitude took to create should be appreciated for nothing less that a complete love for every single one of us within this community, and I am glad that we have members of this dedication level. In the real world, everyone's always lame and does everything half assed, and shows little dedication to their jobs, but here, we have this. APPLAUSE!!! And it didn't even feel like over an hour. Thanks again!
That was quite enlightening, though a lot of duplicate, misplaced, and incorrectly colored background ponies were missed. The biggest infractions were in Winter Wrap Up whenever large groups of ponies were on the screen simultaneously.
@j @Jelfes @ninto55 Yeah, I can see agree on some of those things. Just had to stop watching...it went more dull as the time went on; slowly but surely. Most of the errors/inconsistencies would be easily pointed out more clearly with images that contain descriptions (more time efficient). Some however will need explanation with animation.
Maybe next time dear YouTube user "WhitehawkePAUNCH"; maybe next time.
@Clock Keeper The creator of the video specifically excluded pointing out errors on background ponies because there's way too many of them. This was said in the description of the video.
Pretty cool to see people thoroughly QA My Little Pony. This kind of analysis is actually the kind of thinking and continuity that editors and animators need to be aware of. Now, in all honesty, MLP:FiM is pretty rock solid regarding continuity, but at the pace they go at creating these episodes, and how little time they have to go back and fix every single issue that may come up, it's understandable that a lot of these errors would sneak through. It's even possible they knew of a number of them, but figured it was so minute that it wasn't worth the hit to budget or deadline to go back and fix it.
There were also a number of issues like character composition that would actually make sense, and were probably "errors" done on purpose. For example, the characters standing at the mouth of the cave in Dragonshy suddenly appearing in the next shot. However, if all the characters appeared in the shot where Applejack is talking to Fluttershy, it would clutter the scene and make it much harder to read. Remember, this show is made for little kids, they need to be able to understand what is happening and who is talking. By removing those extra characters on purpose, it puts greater emphasis upon Fluttershy and Applejack. Sacrificing continuity for the sake of legibility.
Still, this guy deserves a ton of credit for pinpointing these little animation glitches. It's this breed of attention to detail that made MLP:FiM great, so it's imperative for people to be able to catch all these issues.
LOL the dude with one eye in the last episode got FALCON KICK'd. Also, aren't a lot of the clipping issues and the inner thigh cutie marks basically there because of recycling? If you look closely, the closer leg and back leg are both the same animation, and they just didn't bother to remove the cutie mark for the back leg. The other ones are bad cut/paste jobs.
@0:54:30, spike also moves a tray through the bell. @1:04:24, Pinkie gets longer legs. I only noticed two or three of these both times I watched these episodes. I can't believe I missed all of those!
@WhiteHawke Not sure if error, but in a Bird in the Hoof Fluttershy looks in her closet and all of the Gala dresses are there. It just doesn't make any logical since to me at least.
One really has to wonder how much time it took to not only comb through every episode to find these errors, but then to go and put this video together on top of that!
Well counted, sirs! Honestly some are just a little nit-picky, the number of letters in Pinkie's basket in Party of One? Sure, it's because an animator didn't count them every shot change, but it's perspective and I don't really think can even be counted as an error. The dozens of inside flank cutie marks was funny. I also find it ironic that my least favorite episode has no real errors, aside from a nit picky one. Chaos = Quality quite often.
I'm surprised that I spotted mistakes in this that were not even metioned. Eg In one of those shots Scootaloo's scooter was missing it's handlebars, leaving her helmet floating in midair. And what about the shots where the dragon shy dragon's spines were sliced off by the cave entrance?
I laughed hard at the AJ freckle counter. Can't watch the whole thing right now, but that part about Twilight's Door being inconsistent is pretty funny. Its obviously magic and changes shape daily. Ain't gotta explain $hit! B)
@Vermillion Twilight I decided after the third or fourth instance of inner-thigh cutie marks that there's a tattoo trend heretofore undiscovered in Equestria. Perhaps a rite of passage?
Also, when some of the bits made my non-brony husband laugh, this was some quality humor right here. (And yes, I'm in a mixed marriage. We manage.)
In "Winter Wrap-Up" when Twilight has her second solo, the snow on the hill she trots up has a squiggly outline that's visibly detached from the straight-topped fill, and then in the next shot the outline is gone altogether.
When Fluttershy is in Carousel Boutique in "Stare Master", there's a single-frame error on one of her eyes. I caught it when I was looking for a frame to cap for a macro.
In fall weather friends, they missed one tiny detail.............. http://k.minus.com/jGieNgBP.JPG and http://k.minus.com/jd9A3EJH3.JPG with this seconds after moving to the right http://k.minus.com/jeStSqBCb.JPG http://k.minus.com/jdM2z2aof.JPG
The work that went into this just flat-out astounds me. The Bronyhood, with its infinite passion and love, never ceases to amaze!
Now gracious, you'd think I'd have picked up on more of these...they look so blatant in this video...but honestly, Flash gave me a real arse-whoopin' in Animation class. Even with all of the errors, this show still has some of the best animation I think I've ever seen, ESPECIALLY for television. (And I'm a certifiable animation *freak*.) The pressure of producing episode after episode on time, plus the sheer amount of detail in the show, make the mistakes understandable to me--but still very amusing and fun to point out! XD
That little song got annoying really quickly. They should only have it on during the scene change... when it's just playing it's gets annoying, and a little weird when you can here the music from the other scenes.
Also... as some ponies pointed out, it gets a little exhausting with the minute details. The director of this little reel should have limited the number of bloopers shown.
Funny, just a little too much of a good thing though.

ReplyDeletea whole hour? Eh, tomorrow's labor day, so what the hay.

ReplyDeleteWait... scratch that, I think it's my Twitter host. Nevermind!
ReplyDeleteOH BOY HERE WE GO...
ReplyDeleteI've seen this one before, I wonder how long it took the guy to watch the entire season frame-by-frame.
ReplyDeleteIt took long enough! I sent the e-mail a week ago! :derp:
ReplyDeleteAlso, the embed kinda cuts off a bit of the vid, so I recommend viewing on youtube.
@Cassius1 month.
ep.#3 fluttershy has only one wing....and its the wrong color XD
ReplyDeletetime to start watching it i guess... this is going to take a while.
ReplyDeleteI just saw this yesterday...
ReplyDeleteI watched this whole thing last week, and it was so worth it :D
ReplyDeletespeaking of meta bloobers: at 07:52 missed missing freckles ;)
ReplyDeleteSETH you lied to me. You said you already posted this when I sent it to you
ReplyDeleteThis makes me smile
ReplyDeleteThis ruins the show for me. I'm never watching MLPFIM again.
ReplyDelete(Obviously joking)
I'm not all that interested in the bloopers (mostly because I feel stupid for not noticing them, especially the Freckles...) but I have to say I LOVE the music.
ReplyDelete@Capitalism Ho!Not really, the animators made it pretty clear that straight ahead shots of AJ does not include her freckles.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason we can see Big Macintosh's freckles in straight ahead's though.
lol Forget you Sleep, Imma watch Ponies videos again through the night.
ReplyDeleteApplejack's freckles keep leaving to go onto a more interesting character.
ReplyDeleteThis is...YES :D
ReplyDeleteI can not beleive that someone went through the entire season looking for animation errors. That is insane XD
ReplyDeleteYet another sleepless night due to ponies well spent.
ReplyDeleteIf I keep laughing I'm going to die. I need to stop watching.
ReplyDeleteEh, I think it makes the show better that its good enough that you forget it messes up
ReplyDeletelol I am supposed to be studying regional scenarios but FUCK YOU OCTAVIO (my teachers name... yeah I know poor Octavia:( ) I am watching pony videos tonight :D
ReplyDeleteThat crazy picture of Trixie is telling me not to go to sleep... D:
ReplyDeleteNot a blooper, but I noticed Rainbow Dash has a Wing-Chub at 16:24 staring at Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteWhats truly impressive is that I was completely oblivious to all of what are now glaringly obvious errors. What has been seen cannot be unseen... this is gonna make season one difficult.

wow, I never noticed any of these things..
ReplyDeleteOh no, they discovered some of the flaws! Abandon ship! <3
ReplyDeleteWoo something to watch at work because I'll have nothing better to do.
ReplyDeletewell i finaly know what to add to the "extra space" on the last disc of my own personal made dvd box set!!!!
ReplyDeleteStill missing at least a few.
ReplyDeleteOne scene Twilight's mane magically switches to the other side of her horn without any actual head movement (gotta find this one again for episode #)

Hmmm... I will watch this.
ReplyDeleteThat was really funny. And totally worth the hour and fifteen minutes. So what if its already midnight? I don't need sleep....
ReplyDeleteWell, now that it's over...
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty good. Entertaining and informative...
...And further a reminder that we still have 12 days to go till season 2.
Is there possibly a version of this without the terrible music? Because that's giving me a serious headache.
ReplyDeleteThe bookshelf is now a door. Anything is possible when you animate ponies...I'm on a balcony.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was fun to watch! Great music (especially with how so many songs lined up with the episodes), all the extra little graphics added in.... and so many that looking back on I have to wonder how I missed.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the very ending, with the silent movie part, and Rainbow Dash wanting to be 20% more comfortable... I had to pause the video there I was laughing too hard.
Excellent job!
I just noticed that Twilight's race number in "Fall Weather Friends" is 42
ReplyDeleteNice. I never noticed any of them except Twilight's levitation inconsistency in bridle gossip, and they're not huge enough to make a big difference, but it was interesting to see all the animation errors and get my pony fix for the day at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty epic load of bloopers. A little surprised they missed a few though, such as the party hat blooper in Party Of One, though if they've done some vids before they probably covered it in that.
ReplyDeleteSo I noticed that it seems with every time Applejack gallops, her freckles are gone. Did they never look at the vectors enough or something?
ReplyDeleteHey! The missing ear blooper that I caught is in there! -feels accomplished somehow-
ReplyDelete...
Yeah, I know it's not as big a deal as I want it to be. XD;;
Makes me glad I don't over analyze and just watch the show.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'll admit, a few of the captions to bloopers were funny.
Also, a random, hopefully humorous thought meant in good fun...
ReplyDeleteWhy were we able to catch so many 'inner thigh' cutie marks? Are someponies looking in inappropriate places? Hmmm? ReplyDeleteJust spent an hour watching animation errors and basically listening to Super Ponybeat Volume 1 for over an hour.
ReplyDeleteCompletely worth it.
Well some one took the time to point out all mistakes, there is a lot i guess they are easy to overlook.
ReplyDeleteSomepony had a lot of time on his hands!
ReplyDeleteA testament to our love of the show, and also that acknowledging while no one is perfect, the stories and characters are so engaging, many of us miss these bloopers because we're too busy enjoying ourselves. I just watched the whole thing and feel pretty dead. Also, there was too many random cupcakes references thrown in there.

ReplyDeletepretty much
It ended before it was finished, didn't get through Party of One, or onto the finale.
ReplyDeleteMan those freckles disappear allot. Maybe they'll fix all these things for the DVD? Also, I really hope this was a group effort or something cause otherwise the person that made this somehow has managed to have less of a life than I do.
ReplyDeleteSo are inner thigh cutie marks canon now?

ReplyDeleteAll I thought was..
"Am I missing an eyebrow?" xD ooooh Adam..
I am sad because Labor Day is actually my first day of classes :_(
ReplyDelete@j
ReplyDeletePointing out errors in a comedic way isn't whining.
~~THIS IS WHIIIIIIIINNNNNING!!!
OMG WTF?!? Can;pt these pelple even animate this coretly!?!? Epic fail! Epic fail!!!
Jajaja... I see some of them on my own but i dont belive how much of them exist XD
ReplyDeleteoh... my...
ReplyDelete00:15:52 No wonder Sweetie Bell didnt see anything wrong with the costumes
ReplyDeleteThis guy deserves an award or something, or at least a Gummy classy cola.

I can't belive I watched the whole thing. Thankfully, it was interesting throughout despite its long length.
ReplyDeleteThe massive amount of eurobeat brony was also very nice.
You want bloopers? The last image has a BIG one...
ReplyDeleteLauren Faust / Hasbro (c) My Little Pony.
IN other words, My Little Pony owns the copyrights to Lauren Faust and Hasbro.
Someone may object to that...

ReplyDeleteWow, two real mind-blowers. First: TRIXIE (multiples!).
ReplyDeleteSecond: Twilight and Photo Finish are related...
@Snow Flurry I'm fine with that. It's 1:02:35 that gave me instant insomnia...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely hilarious. Had a great time watching this with Parchment, Solo, Octavia, Mason, and others in a synctube.
ReplyDeleteHmm... Somepony spent a lot of time staring at Trixie's crotch...
ReplyDeleteWell counted, sirs! Honestly some are just a little nit-picky, the number of letters in Pinkie's basket in Party of One? ReplyDelete@31:15 : /
ReplyDeleteI thought it was funny as hell.
ReplyDeleteI would have watched this through the end, but I gave up after 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteTHAT CONSTANT EUROBEAT IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING!

ReplyDeletea lot of this is really just nitpicking, but still the whole thing is awesome.
ReplyDeleteMaking a list of errors: booring.
ReplyDeleteSnarking about errors and having on screen status tracers: hillarious.
0:50:03
ReplyDeletePhoto Finish confirmed for being Twilight Sparkle! And we've been thinking she was Rainbow Dash this whole time...
Well, that was worth my time :\
ReplyDeleteThese videos are interesting, but constantly feeling like I have to pause them is not.
ReplyDeleteEspecially if it's over an hour, I just want to lean back and watch, not go "wait, what was that, dammit".
The freeze frames in the original were worse though. And don't tell me there are still freeze frames because I'm not looking for them, no sir.
I quite enjoyed that! good hour spent.
ReplyDeletelooks epic I'll watch it when I got time!
ReplyDeleteTrixie has a cutie mark on her INNER thigh?? LOL like a trashy tattoo!
ReplyDeletebest way to spend an hour.
ReplyDeleteoh my god. 0:23:46
ReplyDeletepinkamena...
well, we know who's next!
aw, was hoping for some insight to season 2 at the end, but oh well.
ReplyDeleteHow did you FIND all of these?
ReplyDeleteAt first, I told myself I have seen the other blooper vids before, 70+ mins don't worth my time.
ReplyDelete*Flutterrage voice in my head said YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH MEEE !!!*
Then I ponied the f**k up and watched it through. Worthed it ^-^
@Vermillion Twilight I decided after the third or fourth instance of inner-thigh cutie marks that there's a tattoo trend heretofore undiscovered in Equestria. Perhaps a rite of passage?

@wackyteen
ReplyDeletefuck yes is right! I WATCHED THIS 23 IN A SINGLE DAY.
i laughed every time :3
This is awesome. I did notice any while I was watching. XP It will take a lot more than 75min to watch this tbh XP
ReplyDeleteTwo I half-expected to see mentioned but didn't:
ReplyDeleteIn "Winter Wrap-Up" when Twilight has her second solo, the snow on the hill she trots up has a squiggly outline that's visibly detached from the straight-topped fill, and then in the next shot the outline is gone altogether.
When Fluttershy is in Carousel Boutique in "Stare Master", there's a single-frame error on one of her eyes. I caught it when I was looking for a frame to cap for a macro.
In "Best Night Ever" Spitfire has Soarin's eyes at 14:05.

ReplyDeletei noticed the cyclops pony when rarity went to ask for someone to pull the stage coach
ReplyDeleteThe work that went into this just flat-out astounds me. The Bronyhood, with its infinite passion and love, never ceases to amaze!
ReplyDeleteNow gracious, you'd think I'd have picked up on more of these...they look so blatant in this video...but honestly, Flash gave me a real arse-whoopin' in Animation class. XD
AN HOUR?
ReplyDelete*throws up rainbows*
wow
ReplyDeletethe thing with the food on the table in bridle gossip is coz pinkie was trying to organize a party using telekinetic powers
ReplyDeleteThat little song got annoying really quickly. They should only have it on during the scene change... when it's just playing it's gets annoying, and a little weird when you can here the music from the other scenes.
ReplyDeleteAlso... as some ponies pointed out, it gets a little exhausting with the minute details. The director of this little reel should have limited the number of bloopers shown.
Funny, just a little too much of a good thing though.
