I am a big fan of Makkon's work, and I like that the third is here, even if it is not really pony related at all. I mean, I couldn't find any pony in it at least. Number two sounded pretty good too, considering that I am also a big fan of string quartets.
Avast Fluttershy is one of the few pony pieces I'll still go out of my way to listen to on purpose...
Avast Octavia just blew it out of the water. WOW! To have been able to have seen this kind of music inside of that, I'm amazed. Time for me to put a few dozen more views onto the YouTube piece as it plays in the background as I do my daily surfing.
I love Makkon06's work. I really want to hear his Everfree Forest theme from the racing game, without it being just a short clip sandwiched between two other songs.
I would ask Makkon to have my babies, but that sounds awfully awkward. Perhaps if I said "please have my children"? No, no... doesn't work. Doesn't work at all.
I suppose all that I can say is that Makkon is easily my favourite musician in this fandom.
Well, this was an interesting group. 1) not my cup of tea 2) Wow, that sounds good on the cello. I wonder what it would sound like with a lyre backup instead of what ever it was in the background. Octavia and Lyra rocking this hall. 3) Not sure if it is pony ether but sounds nice.
1. I'm not sure what to say. I guess take this with a grain of salt. It is rather meh and doesn't look like too much work was put into it. (grains of salt) On top of it being meh it seems rather repetative... 2. Either you stole my idea or I stole yours when I took a hacksaw to your brain. 3. At least you don't lie whenever you make a song that has nothing to do with ponies just because you want fame. Great song.
1- Learn music theory dude... 2- Really good. Just a few sour notes, but beautiful nonetheless. 2- OoO ...It's SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! (why do I think Avatar when I hear this?)
the first was unique and took an interesting approach to the original song, but some of the techno sounds didn't really work well with the lyrics for me. however, I see it was very well made but somehow, the fact that it was a music video ruined it for me. Is an audio track, it was much more enjoyable despite being the previous step to this video.
The second took the original song and changed the atmosphere completely. Cello changes everything, but it's not ACTUALLY ponies if you think about it. It's just a cello remake of the original song, but rather was inspired by the "avast x's ass" meme and the simple refined stature of Octavia. And I must say, it perfectly captures Octavia for what she, according to the fandom, truly is.
The third was... inspiring to say the least. It grew, turning the same musical note sequence from sadness to happiness by adding to it, changing the mood of the whole song greatly with a simple subtle change. Overall, I believe this represents the hope that lies at the end of every depression, but also how easily you can fall back into it. It is comparable to the mind of Pinkie Pie, starting sad, but a subtle change (similar to seeing a rainbow for the first time) made a huge impact on the personality and emotion of her. Toward the end of the song, there is another low (representing Pinkie's sudden sadness at thinking her friends didn't like her parties) that is quickly restored to happiness. The overall song makes me imagine their is light for all of us, and sometimes while we may be shown it and show it to others, remember it is still their even if we have lost sight of it.
@Dan I've never played Cello myself but I know exactly what you are talking about xD. Cello is now Canon. (SEE WHAT I DID THERE? BAHAHAHAHAHA) But seriously... Octavia obviously plays a Double Contra Cellolin

ReplyDeleteBell Crystal reminds me of the Avatar theme on the first few seconds. Very good too.
ReplyDeleteDamn Octavia, you fine.
ReplyDeleteMakkon is my favorite musician in the fandom by far.
ReplyDeleteDat vinyl <3
ReplyDeleteTwo Makkon musics in one post. Seth, you have won the internet.
ReplyDeleteAvast my plot. Because my plot is best plot. *ducks flying debris* Very nice piece indeed, I quite liked it.
ReplyDeleteFirst one was a decent listen.
Third song was nice. Gentle and soft but still moving tune.
Octavia would be able to shell out some epic ballads with that cello and a guitar.
ReplyDelete@Cryptonik
ReplyDeleteDo you do this for every music post.
#1 eh,meh...
ReplyDelete#2 Octavia. Need I say more?
#3 Feels like I'm exploring a forest or a cave. Beautiful one. (but how did it get here?)
The second one is surprisingly good. Didn't think a chiptune would sound so nice played with a string quartet.
ReplyDeleteNothing pony related in the third one, but it's a beautiful song.
@Confluttershy
ReplyDeleteCause Makkon did it! Something that epic just...needs to be on here pony or not!
Curses! My remix sounds so meh in comparison to this incredible Octavia song...
ReplyDelete@Cryptonik Pinkie's spiral to insanty 20 minute song sounds a lot more like a nightmare
ReplyDeleteI submitted the Octavia string quartet to Seth, but not the bell crystal song. I'm flattered! Thanks to whoever submitted it!
ReplyDelete... Okay, the GREAT and POWERFUL Trevor is DEFINITELY going to avast Octavia's ass again and again! That was AWESOME! 8D

Loved those vids. The last one reminded me of a dream I had once.
ReplyDeleteOk, #2 is what I'd expect to hear when wandering the vast landscapes of Equestria in an epic Elder Srolls-esque RPG. AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteI love Makkon06's work. I really want to hear his Everfree Forest theme from the racing game, without it being just a short clip sandwiched between two other songs.
ReplyDelete2 and 3 could listen to both for hours.

@Overkillius
ReplyDeleteI want my cranium back, btw.
#1 Not my cup of tea, I'm afraid.
ReplyDelete#2 YesyesyesyesyesyesIlovestringsyesyes
#3 I don't care if it isn't Pony. If it's Makkon, it should be everywhere.
1. Okay.
ReplyDelete2. Octavia. That is all. XD
3. Cave of wonders?
1- Learn music theory dude...
ReplyDelete2- Really good. Just a few sour notes, but beautiful nonetheless.
2- OoO ...It's SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! (why do I think Avatar when I hear this?)
#3, Makkon's Bell Crystal, is a variation on Luna Deos (also by Makkon ^_^). Beautiful! *saved in pony folder*
ReplyDelete@ Makkon:
ReplyDeleteDAMN YOU!!!!!! Why do you get all the talents...
seriously though, awesome stuff here. 1 was meh, but not huge fan of dubbyness anywho
Octavia!!!

Thanks for reminding me why I quit playing the cello after 7 years.
ReplyDeleteD A B F# G D G A gets old after a while.
What if you played Avast Fluttershy and Octavia at the same time?
ReplyDelete@Suffuri
ReplyDeleteNot as awesome as you'd hope, the tempos are different, so they don't synch.
That said, #1 was pretty cool, #2 was wonderful, and #3 was absolutely fantastic despite being non-pony.
I liked Octavia's Ass.
ReplyDelete...
That came out wrong, I liked the second song.
Try this: play #3, and start #2 when #3 is at 22-23 seconds.
ReplyDeleteAchieve epic music mix.
Makkon, you are one excellent pony.
@Dan
