The ever-humble Jayson Thiessen has a message to all the bronies out there. It's a long one, so check it out after the break!
I have been receiving a lot of praise and attention lately for the making of the show, and I feel it necessary to make some things clear to everyone.
First and foremost, MLP:FiM is Lauren's show. She created the characters and the world and the stories and how everything works on the show. It's all her vision behind everything you see. We, the production studio, were the hired guns to put that vision into motion and bring it to life. But she was there every step of the way, guiding us and keeping us on track. Every episode in season one has Lauren written all over it. She and the great Rob Renzetti made sure the writing was superb, holding everyone to the highest standard. She looked over every storyboard and animation rough cut and made sure it was up to her standards. Even right down to the music score, Lauren was there. I and Wootie are the directors, but Lauren was supervising us as best she could from LA, feeding us her knowledge and creative vision. After she left we simply continued along the path she carved out for us, by then we had the pattern down and knew what she wanted. Yes we added our own flavour to it and collaborated to make it what it is, but without her spearheading and guiding us and working with the HUB and Hasbro we wouldn't have what we have. Let it be known as well that almost all of the stories for season two were pretty much figured out by the time she left, so Lauren is still in there. Discord, and that whole two part episode had lauren in it through and through. She designed Discord completely herself, came up with his character and even flew up to Vancouver to oversee the storyboards personally. It was her idea to have John De-Lancie's voice and she directed him.
I just feel that with all the excitement of season two and with me appearing at Bronycon last weekend, the credit is being shifted on me a little more than I feel comfortable with. I just want to make sure everyone understands what a big role she played in the making of all this and give credit and praise to her.
Thank you,
Jayson Thiessen

First block.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! Love reading stuff from Thiessen.
Wooo
ReplyDeleteI respect him even more now
ReplyDeleteWhat a stud. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then everypony praises him for this message.
ReplyDeleteModest Jayson is modest.
ReplyDeleteso faust is still here with us in spirit? cool! :D
ReplyDeleteDuly noted Mr. Thiessen. Just keep doing what you do.
ReplyDeleteThe whole team is awesome. We just shower praise on whoever we can, but we love everypony - Lauren, Jayson, Daniel...
ReplyDeleteFifth.
ReplyDeleteThis show he made is the best show ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolute star! :D

ReplyDeleteWhere'd this come from? Was it sent directly to EqD?
ReplyDeleteCredit all around. You all are doing an EXCEPTIONAL JOB!
ReplyDeleteI eagerly await more from you all and hope to be wowed with each new and coming episode. From one of the Greatest new shall surely be formed. Keep up the great work!
GOOD LUCK!
You are a worthy director for this show good sir
ReplyDeleteHow nice of him
ReplyDeleteI love you all.

ReplyDeleteI didn't think Lauren could get any cooler. But single handedly creating my all time favorite villain? She just got 20% cooler.
ReplyDeleteJayson, you're too humble. All of my money, take it!
So humble. Trust me, we understand how big of an impact Lauren Faust had. Her name is mentioned every time the show is reviewed. Still, don't sell yourself short.
ReplyDeleteI just rediscovered this scene from Foster's Home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmIfGqPS41o and I can't help but laugh at how it seems such prophecy now.
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan for a long time. Ms. Faust, I extend my thanks to you for your creation of this show. In today's world, it's nice to be able to watch something that just flat-out makes me feel happy for a while. We will always remember who started this phenomenon, and we thank you kindly. Nothing but respect for you, woman.
We love the work of all of you, and do recognize that Lauren is the mastermind behind it all. But she couldn't have done it alone, either. So keep in mind you're a crucial component as well, especially after her stepping down.
ReplyDeleteAlso Jayson is best pony.
Very nice message.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to know that Lauren is still with the show in a non-direct way.
Everyone on this show currently or who has put in work at some point on this show is awesome. Lauren, Jayson, everyone...thank you for everything, and bring on the rest of season 2!
/brohoof
Dully noted Jayson, and don't worry we all LOVE Lauren to pieces, every episode I watch I see Lauren in. All of you do such an amazing job.
ReplyDeleteHumble as ever. I don't think anyone doubts that it's Lauren's show through and through, but even so, I've also no doubt that your contributions to its growth and success have been both immense and invaluable. Kudos, Mr. Thiessen. You're a class act.
ReplyDeleteMan..what a classy move. Nice!
ReplyDeleteAlso, this just reinforces those images of Lauren Faust as an Alicorn parent to Celestia and Luna.
Despite the group effort, this series is undeniably her baby.
I love it when people in the movie/TV industry are humble enough to correct people when they are being given credit they feel belongs to someone else. Its just so rare these days, you know? Its just one more thing that makes Friendship Is Magic unique.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so candid Mr. Thiessen.
ReplyDelete:)
All hail LAUREN FAUST
ReplyDeleteAnd props to Jayson for the message :D
I love how humble Jayson is. He's awesome like that. I'm sure all the Bronies appreciate what both him and Lauren, and the whole crew on the show has done to make it what it is. :)
ReplyDeleteMost people would be happy to take all the credit for themselves, even if they know otherwise. The fact that he's publically admitting that he DOESN'T deserve all that praise (or at the very least, he's humble), ironically makes him even more deserving of such commentary.
ReplyDeleterainbowdashsalute.jpg
You're a better man then most for doing so, and as a major fan, I have to say it makes me have even more respect for you and the team. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you again for your efforts in making this magical show.
Jayson Humblesen. You are awesome, and so is Lauren. And Daniel. And Sibsy. And John. And everyone else. Let it be known.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder, if the team got to make a Movie, would they invite Lauren back to help make it the best movie ever?
ReplyDeleteJayson, I think a good chunk of it is that you've just been in contact with the community. I really hope you don't start to dislike the fanbase because of the attention. We like to give recognition to anyone we can interact with who works on the show, and while you're not the creator, your position is one of the highest of all the show's staff, and we just want to give you the recognition we feel you deserve.
ReplyDeleteSince the show started, we've always loved Lauren and we understand that she's the one to thank for pulling this franchise out of the circle of hell it had fallen to in the past. Her name and her former projects alone are a major factor for drawing people to this show, and we will never stop being thankful to her for all she's done. ~BronyMike
It's good to be humble, but not to the point of being ever so 'umble. At some point it's going to be time to own the show, and have the confidence of your own ideas in your own name.
ReplyDeleteThat might have been the benefit of the quite sharp handover of showrunner from russell t davis to steven moffat for doctor who. There was a clear sharp line and from then on it was the moff's show, and he took it and ran with it.
And yeah, there'll always be people who wish it was more like it was before - but then there are people who think it all went to hell after verity lambert left and will never reach such heights again. Of course they're wrong...
Own it, make it yours.
He sounded more irritated than humble tbh.
ReplyDelete*Gasp* It was a lowercase lauren. She's not written all over it. AHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteKidding, of course. Good to know, but I already trusted who's still around anyway.
Jayson is so humble. Yeah, I think a lot of bronies weren't showing the love for Lauren that they should have been showing, they were saying that she only did the first two episodes of season one so they didn't care that she was leaving, wrong, all wrong. Lauren did the interview with EqD as well that attempted to remove many of the rumors of what she intended to do with the show and more, obviously wasn't payed enough attention to! Have the Lauren Faust EqD interview! I read the whole thing, and must say that it certainly cleared up some of the rumors I had heard. Don't completely rule yourself out though, Jayson, you've done great work for the show.
ReplyDeleteI think He's being too modest. He would have been given praise at Bronycon, but that doesn't mean people weren't thinking of Lauren Faust too. If she were there, it would have been a different story. Jayson would have seen bronies giving praise to both of them. In my experience, Lauren gets a ton of praise, but the rest of the staff don't really get to experience that. Fact of the matter is, every one of them deserves praise for what they have done.
ReplyDeleteClassy move. This show is awesome.
ReplyDeleteFaust is the best. Thiessen is the best, they're all the best really :D I love you guys at the production team, all of you really. Present, past and future.
ReplyDeletePonies are the best thing that's happened to lots of us in quite sometime, and I'd like to thank all of you for that. Keep up being awesome. ^^
If Season 1 and Season 2 were all about Lauren, then how will Season 3 go? I hope that they really know what they are doing.....
ReplyDeleteI have mad respect for this man. This message only made that stronger.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be sure to let us know when it's okay to swamp you with praise, won't you? :)
ReplyDeleteYou rock man. Don't be so modest.
ReplyDeleteYou're too modest, Jayson. However, we get what you're saying. :)
ReplyDeleteWow. That was incredibly humble. Way to go, Jayson. You earned a lot of respect with that.
ReplyDeleteAnd we all thank each and every one of you that helped with the show, even if we don't know you all by name.
Knowing that the future of MLP is being led and guided by such a great person reassures me of this shows success.
ReplyDeleteAlso i do hope nopony ever forgets the contribution Lauren Faust has made to this great show. Reading the interview with her made a lot of things so much more clear as to the artistic direction of the show. Thanks Lauren and thanks Jayson!
oooh Jayson no need to be so modest :)
ReplyDeletewe know Faust is the mastermind behind it all but if you guys weren't so awesome and didn't work so hard the show would not be as much fun as it is
you, the studio, the animators, storyboard artists, Daniel and William and Faust deserve as much praise as possible Faust is the creative mind and you the studio and everyone involved (don't think I forget you Rob) are the ones that made her vision concrete and complete into the awesome show that is FiM
awesome...major kudos to him for such a good message tho I think we all have enough love to go around for everypony that poured their hearts into making MLP:FiM into the gem that it is xD
ReplyDeleteHeh, I was one of those back in the day harking about how awesome Jayson Thiessen was, and how I thought Lauren Faust got too much credit. To be honest I think it was true back then, but I think we all agree the show wouldn't be what it is without a true meeting of minds.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jayson. You so humble.
ReplyDeleteI dont think there's a single brony out there that doesn't give Lauren tons of credit for the show. We went into panic once we heard she was leaving. But we love all who work on the show, and undoubtedly we respect you more for this message right here.
We love Lauren and always will. But we have trust that youband the rest of your team can carry on in the Faust way with Season 3 (and any impending Discord movies we all hope for :D )
jayson you're too modest
ReplyDeletewe love lauren
but all the team deserves prasising too
it was a teamwork after all
Lauren is Awesome? tell me something I don't know Jayson!
ReplyDeleteGreat message Jayson, some people need to be reminded where this great show really came from. And the enormous roll Lauren Faust played. I for one already knew the HUGE roll she played after reading the long interview she did for EQDaily.
ReplyDeleteEeyup, this guy's awesome beyond all reason.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see how things hold up or change for season 3 as that will be the first season that Jayson and Co. will be fully in control of without any influence from Lauren.
ReplyDeleteWhile I most admire your modesty and praise you wishes for Lauren's lofty (and very just) commendation, Mr. Thiessen, we still love you and there is nothing you can do about it!!
ReplyDelete*virtual death-grip hug*
^_^
@Makkon
ReplyDeleteDamn straight he is.
Yay! Lauren, Jayson and the rest of the team all rocks!
ReplyDeleteJayson, I know it SEEMS like we're giving you too much credit.. but really, we're giving you no more credit than we give Lauren or the writers or Musicians or voice actors, storyboarders, animators, and everyone else. The only difference between the first season and this one is that you're the "go-to" guy for answers and discussion of the future, so while we praise everyone 100%, you get more of the direct communication. Perhaps it's a little premature for that, if this season's future still has Lauren written all over it, but I dunno.
ReplyDeleteYou're going to get praise AND YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE IT
ReplyDeleteYour modesty is inspiring good sir. Here's to you, Lauren, and the awesome team behind the show. Someday we gotta send them a cake or cards or something.
ReplyDeleteSee Equestria does after all have a king and queen...
ReplyDeleteAll hail King Thiessen and Queen Faust
"Be humble, while being a fuckin awesome dude- LIKE A BOSS!"
ReplyDeleteJayson Thiessen represents the spirit of... modesty!
ReplyDeleteI totally get what he's saying.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that fans are forgetting Lauren but that they need a figurehead to have in their heads when they think of the creative team that creates MLP and since Lauren isn't with the show anymore it's natural it should be Jayson.
This guy is awesome :) No doubts about it. giving credit to the right persons at the expence of his own, that takes personality ;)
ReplyDeleteBut one thing has me bothered! :O
Why DID Lauren leave the show?
Yay! I love MLP and could never imagine a life without all our loved ponies anymore! Thanks to all the guys & gals responsible for the show! ;-)
ReplyDeleteJayson, y u so humble?
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good day when Jayson posts something.
ReplyDeleteHe's probably not reading this but I'll write it anyway.
Yeah, we know Lauren is the mastermind.
We still like you and the rest of the team, though.
I admit, I don't think the other people on the team get enough time in the limelight. As an audio guy by trade, I'm hungering for interviews with some of the sound and music folks like Daniel Ingram.
Anyway, best wishes to all of you.
Not letting my expectations get too high, anyway.
Whenever I give credit for why the show is awesome, I mention Lauren Faust AND the entire production crew! She could not have done it herself, and every single person has had their hand in its success. There are so many ways for the show to have been less than stellar, but it look everyone working together and doing their damnedest to make this the amazing show that it is.
ReplyDeleteI think anytime anyone has announced that they work on the show, we shower them with genuine love and affection. Just as much as the show couldn't have existed without Lauren, the show needs every on the team to exist, too!
Welp, think this proves DisQord was created specifically for John de Lancie. Just awesome.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of people that work on the show, I'd really like to hear from the Foley crew (sound effects). One of the things that I LOVE about the show are the little sound effects. Sometimes they are really subtle, but it's one of those things that make re-watching episodes so much FUN!
ReplyDeleteLike when ponies make a little *squee* sound when smiling, the warning beep sound when Spike was backing up in Feeling Pinkie Keen, the little *poing!* sounds when Pinkie Pie hops around...just sound of an engine when Scootaloo is jetting around on her scooter...all those little things just add to the show's charm!
And of course, the build team, storyboarders and animators. I had no idea you could do any of what we've seen in Flash. I remember watching the first episode and thinking, "Oh great, another Flash cartoon...". Five minutes in, I completely failed to notice it was Flash. At all. :D I absolutely love how expressive the ponies are!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a kid's show animation team this dedicated, friendly, and loyal since... well, ever.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the awesome work, and may the Faust be with you.
Oh Jayson, don't be that modest!
ReplyDeleteThe Cool and Honest-ful Jayson Thiessen
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see more perspective over the making of the insanely awesome Friendship is Magic. Credit where credit is due is nice and it just shows how loyal and true everyone working on the project is and the teamwork it took to create such a fantastic show.
ReplyDeleteRainbowDashSalute.jpg
ReplyDeleteAND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING!
ReplyDeleteOk. Jayson Thiessen repeat after me:
ReplyDelete"Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I've learned that there is enough love and praise in the My Little Pony fanbase for every person involved in the creation of the show. I shouldn't feel bad for being loved by the fans, because they love everypony equally."
Just for the sake of putting it out there.
ReplyDeleteFor a hypothetical, potential third season that doesn't have Faust's involvement, Thiessen, Renzetti, et al., still deserve the assurance that a good number of people, myself included, have full faith and assurance that they are still capable of carrying out Faust's vision even without her overseeing the project.
To put it plainly, they've found their groove.
They know what works especially well through what was learned in the course of seasons one and two (characterization, development, interaction and dialogue, visual style and artistry, animation, storytelling, conflicts, etc.); and they know what people like and how people associate with the show, not because the show is intended for their audience's specific interests, but because the show is just so universal in its themes and presentation that it doesn't NEED to appeal to JUST a viewer of a particular gender or age, but rather to whomever is willing enough to watch it.
I hope that the crew keeps this in mind, and that their future endeavors are not too discouraged because of less involvement from the show's creator and concept developer. As Thiessen and Faust's mantra imply, "Don't fix what isn't broken," and as the directors and other crew keep the idea "What Would Lauren Do?" in mind, what makes the show special is just that it can survive on its own merits, rather than forcing it to hold a crutch or executing an intervention to support it. Such ideas really are the most obvious methods to apply in any developmental period between seasons, yet also find themselves to be some of the deepest pitfalls.
MLP managed to avoid such issues so far, and it's because of the wonderful veteran crew behind it who can calculate just what to keep the same, while still applying compromises to keep it fresh for the audience -- keep it up, fellas, and we will follow you every step of the way!
To put your mind at ease, I'm sending my perks to Lauren as well. You've both done exemplary work, along with everyone else on the show!
ReplyDelete"We, the production studio, were the hired guns to put that vision into motion and bring it to life."
ReplyDelete^That's still something to be proud of, Thiessen. Everyone involved with this should be proud of what they've put together, and use that as motivation to achieve even greater success.
The thing is she brought you on the team for a reason. You all deserve credit for such a revelutionary accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteJason, I don't know if you're reading this, but you are my hero. End of story.
ReplyDeleteJust goes to prove how much of a stand-up guy Thiessen is. He could have just as easily claim more responsibilty for the success of the show than was due, but he's level-headed and humble enough to admit that the show would be nothing without the incredible work of Lauren Faust.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, Thiessen and the rest of the Friendship is Magic crew should just as much love from the fans for without them, the show would never have made it out of Faust's head.
Thiessen also deserves many brohoofs for being so active with the fan-community. Doing recorded interview with Eqestria Daily and appearing in person at BronyCon are both ultra cool things for any animator to do.
So, may I say, thank you Jayson Thiessen for being such an awesome director and showing such great respect to Lauren Faust's vision! And thanks to all the FiM crew and especially thanks to Lauren Faust! You guys are all too awesome for this brony to put into words.
Modest like a boss.
ReplyDeleteI have no internets to give so have a respect.
*+1 respect*
To everyone involved with making the show, from the top on down to those working in the trenches:
ReplyDeleteThe world kind of sucks right now for a lot of people who are struggling, which makes the little joys you can snatch up in life that much more important. A heartfelt thank-you for every moment of fun you all come together to provide. You deserve all the fans you're gaining.
Don't worry Jayson, your getting the praise for what you (and only you) did ...
ReplyDeleteyour just gonna have to get used to the idea your part for something truly just that EPIC!
There is more than enough praise to go around for everyone. In fact, I don't think there's enough praise in the world to give them all what they deserve.
ReplyDeleteGood job, everyone. We'll praise you by enjoying it, by spreading that joy to others, and by not letting the occasional hiccup or such get us down.
I think it's safe to say that we're gushing with praise and attention for everyone that touches the show, be it you, lauren, sibsy, daniel, wootie, william, jinratgeist, all the amazing voice actors...it's just we managed to get our hands on you first!
ReplyDeleteWell you know, if more of the staff went to BroNYcon more of them would be getting direct thanks and internet hugs from everyone!
ReplyDeleteYou are drawing most the attention because you are the director and are thus, easy to identify. Anyone else on the team who poked their head up (Danial, Sibsy) are also getting showered with praise as well. There is plenty of love for the whole team really.
And no, we haven't forgotten about Lauren. If it makes you feel better, if she was at BroNYcon and was sitting next to you, I'm pretty most of the questions and autograph signing would have been asked of her instead. We love the whole team though, really!
Nice to see him being so humble about it. Still, he is amazing in his own right. I think Season 3 will be in good hands, he seems to know exactly what needs to be done.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Jayson. :) Thank you for making sure the credit was distributed in a proper and fair way. :D
ReplyDeleteI think Jason is being a bit too modest. Every Brony know that this is Lauren's show and nothing will change that. However, she decided to step back and left the show in your hands. Bronies can be a little intense with their support, but that is mainly because we are that in love with the show.
ReplyDelete...but Jayson is also awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteThis fandom in a nutshell:
ReplyDeleteJayson: "Don't give me praise!"
Fandom: "PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE, the praise that plays for days and days! PRAISE"
Classy guy.
ReplyDeleteJayson, we've been over this. We all love Lauren and will never ever forget the things she's done for us. But you've done so much and have been such a brilliant conductor that we know this show wouldn't be the same if you weren't there. You do good work. You do amazing work. And whether you're carrying your vision or Lauren's, we love you for what you do.
ReplyDeleteIt's ponies, man. There's a lot of love to go around.
What I expected when I saw the title of this post:
ReplyDelete"Dear bronies,
Please stop asking me about Luna. She'll be ready when she's ready. Also, please stop demanding every random background get more screen time."
We know, Jayson, we know. -:)
ReplyDeleteGosh, in certain points it sounds like "Lauren Faust is gone, so Season 3 won't be half as good as S1 and S2" U_____U
ReplyDeleteModesty is admirable, but I hope he doesn't take it too far. Trust us to love Lauren for all she's done, but at the same time, dare to appreciate the fact that the love you're getting is well-deserved, Thiessen!
ReplyDelete@Pyrobug
ReplyDeleteHa! Same here, mate.
I love how humble he is!
ReplyDeleteBut he did, and does, a lot that makes him amazing.
Keep it up!!
I'm so glad to hear it. That touch of Lauren's design and spirit will continue to make the ponies shine, while you guys are doing a good job at keeping the show all and well throughout season 2.
ReplyDeleteALL GLORY TO THE HYPNO-TOAD. Erm... I mean LAUREN FAUST.
ReplyDeletePraise the lawd!
ReplyDeleteDamnit, Mr. Thiessen, just accept that you're awesome!
ReplyDeleterespect
ReplyDeleteCredit can be shared. :3
ReplyDeleteWe already KNOW Lauren Faust kicks flank.
ReplyDeleteEven BEFORE Ponies she was working on some of the greatest shows ever, don't be so modest, and take the respect you deserve!
You're right, MLP:FiM is Lauren's show, and you are just the 'hired guns' that put it in motion. However, while being humble is good, you really are some of the best 'hired guns' out there. We've lavished praise (and continue to) on Lauren for all that she's done, but everyone at Studio B deserves some as well for all the work that they've done. It wouldn't have come together the same without all of you, and I think we can find enough praise to go around. (Although, not being one for the spotlight, I can feel where you're coming from. BroNYcon did sound pretty overwhelming.) (Also, thanks to you and Lauren for putting up with all the "Where's Luna?" and such.)
ReplyDeleteFaust was the one who designed Discord, and recommended John De Lancie for the part!? She really knew how to make good calls.
ReplyDeleteLauren, we miss you. <3
ReplyDeleteMODEST AS FUCK
ReplyDeleteThe fate of the ponyverse is in your hands, Mr. Thiessen. Do right by it, and we will do right by you.
ReplyDeleteMr. Thiessen, modesty is a virtue, but don't downplay yourself. ^_^
ReplyDeleteMr Thiessen is a nice guy. I know all the job Lauren do... but man, she even work on the scores and scrips and music... and Discord's design... that women is awesome!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Mr Thiessen is awesome too. Is a great team work
Lauren Faust is God. We will never forget her.
ReplyDeleteI would volunteer to work for free if i were important enough, and if they asked me, this show is just great, thank you Lauren and Jayson and everyone for creating this master piece!
ReplyDeleteJason is awesome. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDelete:3 I's been paying attention mister guy, so I already knew all this.
ReplyDeleteCan has pony plushie? :D
Jayson Thiessen knows how to be humble like a baws.
ReplyDeleteJayson, you're still just as awesome. There's no going back, nope.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSo? You're still awesome, as are all the voice actors, animators, everyone!
ReplyDeleteThat was really cool of him to give credit where credit was due when he felt that that wasn't being done.
ReplyDeletebeing she carved out a g4 bible so to speak all any staff member need to is refer to it and season one and LF will be there in her full glory..
ReplyDeleteuntill her bible is tossed and the road that should be travled is not taken..that is the only point at which the goddes of animation LF will not be part of MLP...untill then..she will be a part of it all untill the day its pulled from the air
much respect should be passed around to the ENTIRE mlp staff from the pencil sharpeners to the final ink ...except Hasbro(cause they need to learn how to make proper toys)
ReplyDeleteid love to see more of the original art/story boards/bible pages
If that's the case, then I know who to blame for "The Cutie Mark Chronicles". (Seriously, I don't care what anyone else says, the so-called "backstories" that were in this episode were just AWFUL and a massive slap in the face.)
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, though, it makes me wonder about what'll come after season two. Maybe she'll change her mind and come back on board at some point or something. I dunno, I'm just guessing.
Jayson definitely is humble, though.
I think everyone already knows how awesome Lauren Faust is already. Jayson is definitely not used to popularity. All the more reason why he should have it.
ReplyDeleteAfter Jayson decided to show at the bronycon, I don't know why I'd be surprised to see that he wrote a note directly to us! That just makes him more awesome.
ReplyDeleteONLY THE TRUE MESSIAH DENIES HIS DIVINITY!
ReplyDelete@Landon
ReplyDeleteI love Cutie Mark Chronicles, and always have! It's one of my favorites! I suppose it goes to show that one can't possibly please everypony.
One thing I admire about the crew is that they're making the same show they always have, just better! They're aiming to please themselves, the same as it ever was. :)
Truly a great man!
ReplyDeleteI say so and I save this kind of threatment for big persons. I'm serious here.
With guys like that, no wonder this show is drinkable awesomeness. I mean, COME ON. You're all awesome. Trust me, Lauren couldn't have done that alone. I know what it is to have to supervise a bunch of idiots, and from the result I know it's definitively not the case here.
ReplyDeleteMr. Thiessen did seem a little uneasy at Bronycon, but of course people are going to be giving him more credit, because he was the one standing right in front of them. That's just how people are. They deal with what they see.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it, Jayson. We didn't forget Lauren and the rest of the team! We love all you guys!
Of course we are not forgetting Lauren Faust and the amazing team behind this awesome show. The things is that Jayson is now the most visible genius of this group of geniuses, so it's understandable that all the compliments go to him.
ReplyDeleteWe love and appreciate every single person who worked in the project, even if the only thing they did was throw a random sketch line on Rainbow Dash's head.
As comforting as it is to know that Lauren Faust's hand can still be seen in the show, I know that Jayson Thiessen will continue to make MLP:FiM amazing!
ReplyDeleteJayson is very humble, and I respect that.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do believe he deserves more than he gives himself credit for.
I don't think they gave him Lauren's job after she left by means of a raffle or something... He got the job because he's just that good.
The following did not happen (I think):
Jayson: "Lauren's gone. What are we gonna do now?"
Hasbro: *puts a red wig on Jayson* "Congratulations, Jayson, You're the new Lauren Faust. Now let's go!"
Jayson: "But what if she find out I've been impersonating her?"
Hasbro: "Too bad. You're Lauren Faust. Now go animate!"
It's from things like this one that you can understand why it came out a so beautiful show.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys, thanks for making this show. Absolutely, keep enjoying yourselves while doing it, because that's the only way it can keep being so awesome!
Very classy thing to say by Jayson. But what do you expect from such a great guy?
ReplyDeleteThere's nopony else that I would want working on this show. Keep up the incredible work everypony!
I think there is a tendency to praise the actors and ignore the rest of the crew, especially in animation. So while this note is valuable, we want everyone involved to know that we appreciate them!
ReplyDeleteComing up with the idea is not the same as doing the grunt work. Thiessen deserves the real credit after the first season. If it does great or starts to suck after this point, none of the credit goes to Faust. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
ReplyDeletejason: would you be more comfortable if we went about saying
ReplyDelete"there is no god but faust and thiessen is her prophet"
??
I won't forget Lauren Faust, I promise.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Jayson.
*much hoof-clapping* What a lovely letter...
ReplyDeleteShe comes and teaches them how to fish and then is on her way.....
ReplyDeleteJayson is amazing. Lauren is amazing. Lauren got the amazing ball rolling. We're still trying to get Lauren for a future BroNYCon. She knows how much we love her! :)
