Just in case covering your desktop with the desktop ponies and having your wallpapers continuously rotate through your folder of six and a half dozen awesome pony wallpapers wasn't enough pony on your computer, now you can convert every feasible icon your programs use into these high-quality pony icons, too.
Speaking of which, at the rate pony is completely taking over the world, I wouldn't be surprised if Intel and AMD released hardware support for pony in the next few years. How cool would that be? You'd have direct chip-level acceleration of all pony games, applications, and episode playback. Let's take that one step further; how about a dedicated pony chip required on all logic boards? The show would be so ubiquitous by that point that it would just make good business sense to include such a thing.
You can find spikeslashrarity's icon set here, on DeviantArt.

I have no desktop icons. Do these apply to taskbar icons?
ReplyDeleteSo awesome.
ReplyDeleteNo joke I was just talking about this with another brony today. Glad to see it!
ReplyDelete>Rarity icons
ReplyDelete>I'm okay with this
EPIC! Its not like ponies are taking over my entire computer, no siree :D
ReplyDelete@BagOfChips
ReplyDeleteBut alas, none of the Rarity icons are for things I use.
Oh Cereal, u so random.
ReplyDeleteI love the Photo Finish Photoshop one.
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out how to actually make them icons.

ReplyDelete@SparkleFun Me either. Can anypony help?
ReplyDeleteThe lack of Windows 7 icons makes me sad. And how do you make them icons?!
ReplyDeleteHow can I change icons? I must know how...
ReplyDeleteSooooooo... what do we do with them?
ReplyDeleteI use none of those programs except Firefox and WMP. <_<
ReplyDeleteWow do these look nice. Unfortunately the only ones I would have use for would be Google Chrome and Trash Can. Still awesome though!
ReplyDeleteHmm... let's see, Rarity on a System Preferences icon, good good...
ReplyDeleteApplejack "lassoing" the Internet Explorer icon, clever
Pinkie Pie in her "WATCH OUT!" pose as the trash icon... rofl....
SO sweet...
ReplyDeleteSmall selection... NEED MORE.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice if he credited the people who created all those vectors he used...
>Mac
ReplyDeleteI believe we have a problem here...
I think to change them you have to go into the program's folder and replace the icon with the image.
ReplyDeleteI think....
HOW USE? I can find them, and if i want to change stuff, it says i need it to be an icon file. Those are .dll, maybe i need to change something? idk
ReplyDeleteI think that they need to be .ICO files to work in Windows 7. Windows gives me an error when I try to apply the png saying that there are no icons in this file.

Pretty good but I can't use most of them! D=
ReplyDeleteOh, geez, these all look really good, but I don't really want to give up the pony icons I already ha-
ReplyDelete>Rainbow Dash-themed Microsoft Word
WINNING
For Windows, you can get gimp for free and then save each file as an icon file using it. It is more time consuming, but the end result is worth it, trust me.
ReplyDeleteBut how does one use these in XP?

ReplyDeleteI tried using the tutorial for windows 7, but it just gave me the same error. I'm going to give a try to Rocketdock.
ReplyDeleteOnly six and a half dozen? I'm rather disappointed.
ReplyDeleteWANT RAINBOW DASH FILE IMAGES!!!
ReplyDeleteNO ONE USES MACS. MAKE REAL ICONS.
ReplyDeleteYeah, six and a half dozen seems like 1/100 or less of what most pony folders entail. :P
ReplyDeleteAs for Intel and AMD supporting ponies through their hardware. That would be cool, but I wouldn't hold my breath, Cereal. ;)
Anyway, these icons are too cute. I have that other icon set already, but I'm going to of course snag these as well. :D
These look really nice with Rocketdock.
ReplyDeleteThis is just too awesome, time to ponify more of my computer!
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that I'm shipping Spitfire+Firefox-tan in my head right now?
ReplyDeleteIma have to convert all of these to .ico?
ReplyDeleteConvert ALL the things!
AHHHH! I really want to do this, but I can't access DeviantArt because of internet filters!
ReplyDeleteI officially lost it when I saw the Dropbox icon with ponies.
ReplyDeleteI MUST HAVE IT!!!
I use this programs for icons, in case none of the others are working for you.

I just applied these to iOS. Kudos to the creator. I've been waiting for good qualitybponynicons for some time now.
ReplyDeleteLINK TO ZIP FILE FOR ALL ICONS FOR BOTH MAC AND PC:

If you open the images and save them as .BMP you can use them as icons.
ReplyDeleteCould you imagine someday, a hardcore wRPG/jRPG hybrid for the computer? And furthermore, MSI, XFX, HIS, or another company making special graphics cards with pony designs on them? %10 cooler than the competing GPU heatsink.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, a bonus offer coupon with certain products for an SSD with Rainbow Dash on it. Guaranteed to boot in 10 seconds flat.
Hah, these are so cool. I pretty much managed to use all of them, even though I don't even use some of the programs (Internet Explorer, Google Earth, Windows Media Player, etc.). In fact, I think the Google Earth icon is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteTook me about half an hour to convert them all to .ico's using gimp, but it was worth it.
@Meep
ReplyDeleteThanks for the converter! works just great now I have Google Chrome Fluttershy
Huh, my computer isnt letting me change my icons
ReplyDeleteEr...it's not working for me. I just get the basic "Preview" icon whenever I try to copy these into their places.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cool, I just wish I had a use for more than 3 of them. Can't someone just make a pack that replaces all default icons with pony ones? lol, do it!
ReplyDeleteWell, GIMP sort of worked, but they all ended up much smaller.
ReplyDelete@MetalGearSamus
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too... Any Idea how to fix this?
On the deviant art page, if you click on JOURNAL there is the download link for the icon files that will work with windows 7. PNG files won't work out of the box as icons. But the downloadable zip folder has .icons that will work right away. In the journal section there is also a very complete set of directions!
ReplyDeleteYou may have to make your icons on your desktop larger to get the more glossy effect. Here's my desktop with them working: http://s36.photobucket.com/albums/e29/nightowl3050/?action=view¤t=desktopponys.png
ReplyDeleteMy desktop with more Ponies? Hmm... I think I might be called "obsessed." Oh well. XD
ReplyDeleteWHAT DO I DO?!!!?!?!? I CONVERTED THEM TO ICONS NOW WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteThey come up too small! What's wrong? I'm running Vista, just in case that's actually useful.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time getting the iPhoto icon to work correctly.. Whenever I try changeing the iPhoto icon to http://spikeslashrarity.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4adf89 it either shows up very small, or no change at all. Any suggestions on whats wrong? All the other icon works.
ReplyDeleteI can post pics if you want

ReplyDeletemy desktop. windows xp
I changed my firefox icon on my task bar, but I realized my task bar weren't set to the large size, and I don't really want to change the size.
ReplyDeleteHow do I change it back to how it originally was?
@wackyteen It depends on the program and which Windows you have (assuming you have PC). Just try it and see! You can definitely do your trash, Win.explorer, and personal folders. Firefox is basically a no.
ReplyDeleteThis is how I change the icons on my mac:
ReplyDelete1) Go to the application you want to change and right-click it. Go down and click "Get Info"
2) In the top left corner, next to the title, you will a small version of the current icon. Click it and it will be highlighted.
3) Open the new icon image in Preview. Click and drag your cursor across the entire image, selecting it. Go to Edit and click "Copy"
4) Go back to your application window and make sure the icon in the left corner is highlighted. Go to Edit and click "Paste"
It should replace the icon. I had to remove apps from my doc and then put them back on to see your new icon.
