Parodying the success of the Epic Rap Battles of History series, Giganerd17 has released his first Epic Rap Battle of Pony, featuring the Great and Powerful Trixie vs Twilight Sparkle. You might want to watch a few of the actual rap battles for some context (To explain why he used a high squeaky voice at least!) but overall it was really well done. The lyrics are hilarious.

ReplyDeleteIs my body ready?
ReplyDeletelol, I saw that in the mIRC chat and had to listen to it lol...
ReplyDeleteOH DAMN
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the squeaky voice...
ReplyDeleteehh... the lyrics where well written but i don't know, i just didn't like it
ReplyDeleteDear god. What is this?
ReplyDeleteThe squeaky voice hurt my ears.
ReplyDeleteVoice wasn't the best, but by Celestia those lyrics: amazing.
ReplyDeleteNot digging the shrillness of the voices... Sounds more like a cracked out 16 year old boy.
ReplyDeleteI like it, but... needs a better singer.
ReplyDeleteIf only I liked rap ;_;
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the music styles where I get lost. The songs are too fast for me to keep up X3 But it's outstanding the amount of work that goes on the rhyming.
I have no words...
ReplyDeleteNo really, I've got nothing!
I liked the voices
ReplyDeleteThis was inevitable. I was actually thinking of making one , but someone beat me to it.
ReplyDeleteThat was... um... something. Yes. Something.
ReplyDeleteNot really a fan of the voice, and the lyrics felt like they lacked flow. They were just a bit disointed and forced at times.
that was actually funny
ReplyDeletewhat the... I don't even
ReplyDeleteI didn't even like the original Epic Rap Battles of History.
ReplyDeleteThis is just bad.
I thought it was bloody hilarious. What's with all the meh?
ReplyDeleteKudos for the lyrics, that's it.
ReplyDeleteI don't care about whatever context this has, there is no excuse for someone to make a voice that bad in a rap song.
Get a couple of girls who sound like the ponies to rap it and this might be win....
ReplyDeletenow all we need is Lupe Fiasco & Kid Cudi to rap these lyrics
ReplyDeleteLupe is Twilight & Trixie is Cudi :3
Please gets some girls to sing this. Pleaheaheaazzz
ReplyDeleteGiga, thou musteth do Applejack and Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought that this was done by the guys who actually do Epic Rap Battles of History. xD Still. That made me laugh.
ReplyDeletemfw none of trixie's lyrics are close to accurate about what happened in the show.
ReplyDeleteIt's like taking a 40-year old school bus and calling it a brand new limo.
@DoubleMallow
ReplyDeleteWhat happened in the show is that Trixie lost and ran off like a cowardly coward who cowers.
Do you think somepony with her kind of complex is going to admit to that?
I wrote this, and it should say when I posted it to deviantART.

Fillies and gentle-colts, please compare and reply.
So they are rapping about who is the biggest whore? Oh and the "rapper" sounds like shit. Did this really deserve its own post Seth?
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, that was a bit painful, not only in te lyrics, but the voices =(
ReplyDeleteIt was... nice.
ReplyDeletepros:
ReplyDeletewell made
nice rymes
nice disses
entertaining
cons:
same guy for both voices
lyrics too fast for voices
sped up to fast to mach the beat
would be better to have the actual voice actors do it.
I liked it. Twilight's rhymes weren't nearly as good as Trixie's, though.
ReplyDeleteWell...I liked the lyrics.
ReplyDeleteNow let's see who can sync it to the shoe.
2.8 stars? ouch.
ReplyDeleteI demand that the next rap battle be Celestia VS Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeletethey all sound like Epic Rap battle's interpretation of Justin Bieber...
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't too shabby. The voice... is eh. And he seems like he needs to work on his rapping a bit. And a new mic. But the words were alright.
ReplyDeleteNext round: Me Vs Vinyl. ;)
This had to be done.
ReplyDeleteneeds female voices
ReplyDeleteinteresting... lol?
ReplyDeleteEh, it was ok. But at least with the actual epic rap battles they try to keep them in character. With these lyrics it was just not in character, and since he used the same voice for both, it just sounded like someone arguing with them self. Thank Celestia for the colored text or I wouldn't have known which character was talking. Plus the voice... i'll just leave it at that
ReplyDelete"I DON'T LIKE RAP, BUT...."
ReplyDeleteYeah yeah, shut the fuck up.
As a hip-hop connoisseur (the only one on EQD far as I can tell) who's watched dozens and dozens of battles, I can confirm that this "battle" is WICK WICK WACK.
Fuck, I can write better battle rhymes than this dude. *starts looking for female voice talent*
Here's that video
ReplyDeleteAnd right about here is the point and charm of the ERBoH.
The point is to take two barely related characters and make them battle it out. If you take two characters from the same series, especially those that've already interacted, and make them do a rap battle, it's pointless and boring.
Painful just painful.
ReplyDeleteIt perked me up and made me smile despite it being the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteThe amount of people taking this so astoundingly seriously did crack me up, though. But, ah well.
For the New Lunar Republic!

ReplyDeletehttp://askthegreatandpowerfultrixie.tumblr.com/post/7443475385/throws-mic-on-the-ground-walks-away
Get serious, chump.
Hmm, I actually wrote one of these for Derpy Hooves vs Photo Finish, but I never new what to do with it since I lack sound and video equiptment. Interesting somepony else got the same idea.
ReplyDeleteI... I don't know how to feel about this...
ReplyDeleteThe arguments in those lyrics were pretty shitty...he should of inspired himself from Yu Gi Oh's abridged rap battle
ReplyDeleteRap battle? This sounds like something GigaNerd would-
ReplyDelete...
Oh.
Congrats to ya for getting on EquestriaDaily, from Dinosaurshotgun.
Did Twilight Sparkle serve Trixie, or did Trixie serve Twilight Sparkle
ReplyDelete@Lucid
ReplyDelete*Salute* To the creation of the new Lunar Nation!
@Agnes Fezellis That's probably because it is.
ReplyDelete@Tigerheart
ReplyDeleteSee, that's how its done.
I got Magic, Power, Bitches, and Fame/
You're alone, depressed, your only friends are on AIM/
Trixie ethering dudes out chea
(my GOD, most of you prolly have no idea what Ether is...think i'm gonna be sick)
pfft! I woke up the family with a failed stifled laugh XD that erectile dysfunction made me think of the "premature casting" scene in Ballad of Twilight Sparkle XD it came out of no where damnit I was not prepared!
ReplyDeleteNow we just need Tara Strong and Kathleen Baar to do the rap...and someone with more skill to do the backing track.
ReplyDelete...and for the love of Celestia, SLOW DOWN! You're going to fast and throwing off the damn meter!
Turn that squeak down a notch, damn.
ReplyDeleteOther than that pretty nice.
