Looks like Sibsy was right- there is going to be a gap between this two-parter with Discord and the rest of season two. How big of a gap is uncertain at this point, but if we survived the entire summer without new pony, I'm sure we can manage a month or two with only this so-far fabulous two-parter to hold us over.

As the one who took the picture, I can tell you that I can see a set in stone TV schedule up to 12-13 days ahead on my DVR. I'm betting that Part two will re-run the next week after that as well.

If they take more than 2 weeks with airing episode 3 then they failed at realizing that pulling off a retarded stunt like this only pisses us off. Before we were told EXACTLY when season 2 was starting, we were prepared to wait until December or some nonsense for our ponies to return. Giving us a date for an entire freaking season and only delivering 2 episodes is a real dick move.
This makes me want to skip season 3's premier next year, which means I'll have to leave EQD for over a month to get away from the spoilers... Having 100 entries in my RSS reader from less than a week worth of activity was more than I wish to handle, let alone a month's worth of FUTURE EQD (40 million views? try 40 billion.)

It's hardly that long to wait, really. They gave us the episodes early; you may consider this a mixed blessing, but be grateful that you got any ponies. They could have either aired the Return of Harmony in mid-October and then aired the rest of the episodes every week after, or they could release the Return of Harmony a few weeks before (and, given that the episode was originally intended to be part of season 1 anyway, this isn't that difficult to accept) and give the fans something to tide them over until the season airs properly.
Funnily enough, it's not the end of the world that the episodes are coming a little later.
Dang, that's disappointing. But as other people have said, patience is important here. I really hope that the older fans can take this news better than the little people this show is primarily targeted at.

I don't mind waiting for ponies but teasing us with an episode (2 parters are single episodes imo) and then going "HERPDERP SEE YA IN A MONTH" is wrong. Period.
I have waited for over THREE MONTHS for episode 13 of Wakfu's season two to air and be translated. I've also been waiting a month for Homestuck's End of Act flash that has a cliffhanger at a pivotal point in the story.

You have another episode this Saturday coming, and then more maybe a few more weeks wait after that. If you can't emotionally deal with that, then you should probably be attending some sort of therapy for your anger/stress issues.

Because episodes are still in production (and will be until December), they are giving the studio enough lead time to get several episodes in the can before they air, which should hopefully lead to less breaks later on in the season.
During Season One, there there were at least two breaks during the season. New episodes didn't show for two weeks in a row over Christmas/New Year's, probably to give the hard-working production staff a break to spend time with family and friends over the holidays. There was another break Over a Barrel and a A Bird in the Hoof. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see similar breaks this year, too. :)

ReplyDeleteI should mention I don't actually know what's going on with the show; I'm just making an educated guess. Considering Hasbro renewed MLP:FIM before Season 1 was even over, and that it is one of their best-performing shows, I can't imagine why Hasbro would do something so silly. :)

To be honest, I've never paid any attention to whether there was a break in any other TV show I've ever watched, because I've never cared that much. :)
