So. A comic. All dark and shadowy, with a story and stuff. You know what else it has? Here, let me quote the artist, "Gore, swearing, and OCs." If these things don't interest you, you might want to give this one a pass. If you do, then hay! I've got ten pages of super powered Twilight for you! =D

ReplyDeleteSooooo....its a profanity filled Grimdark 10 page comic.
ReplyDelete.....
MULTIPLE SQUEEGASM
that was... good. Might be better if the artist/author expands on it.
ReplyDeleteThis comic. Was fucking epic.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Celestia is such a bitch.
Amazing comic, really. Utterly amazing.
And its drawn in black n white high contrast noir Frank Miller style.
ReplyDelete*FUCK* YESSSSSSSSS
eh not my cup of tea...
ReplyDeleteAAAAWww :(

ReplyDelete"Tango Down"
ReplyDeletebleeding profusely from the awesome, need medical assistance
OH my, only response i can say.
ReplyDelete'oly crap
ReplyDeletealso bully
That was... definitely something different...
ReplyDeleteFuck ya'll anti-grimdark bitches lol. Go read a 70 part Luna/Derpy shipping fic or something. This shit is too hardcore and awesome for your fragile brains.
ReplyDeleteUhm...
ReplyDeleteThat's... depressing...
Oh, well it has Twilight Sparkle in it, it can't be that bad.
ReplyDeleteo.0
Okay, i was listening to the AotD orchestral remix while reading this.... oh dear fucking god that was epic.
ReplyDeleteDaaaammmnnn. That is just messed up. Though it was a good comic
ReplyDeleteI have to say... at first this was a little... whats the phrase, "put off", well anyway this was amazingly drawn. The style fit the whole comic perfect, very dark and unsettling. I like it, I really do. This shows a very dark side of Celestia, one that most people are sure exists. Kind of a shitty way to "test" someone, but still very compelling.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I want to know more but there isn't more! D: That was pretty damn awesome!
ReplyDelete...meh. It was good, but it could have been much, much better if it had been longer... and I actually knew a little about the backstory behind this.
ReplyDeleteThat's the magic what I'm talking about!
ReplyDeleteTwilight goes Full Akira. GEEEEEEEEEEEYATTTTTTTTT DAAAAAAYUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM YO
ReplyDeleteoverdosing on awesome, body starting to shut down
@Scoopicus
ReplyDeleteLonger? How many 10 page comics are there? How many Grimdark ones? What do you want, a graphic novel lol?
I mean, yes, I WANT MORE AND I WANT IT NAO but c'mon man.
i accidentally awesome twice
ReplyDelete@scoopicus why does it need a backstory? it might be random but still it is awesome, longer i can agree on that one, but then again it could ruin it.
brutal i know the backstory for one of the party members in an upcoming game
ReplyDelete*draws flaming sword, stands in front of devart links*
ReplyDeleteI WILL DEFEND THIS COMIC'S HONOR TO THE DEATH. FLEE, AND I SHALL SPARE YOUR LIFE.
@mycutiemarkisagun
ReplyDeleteThe problem is just that. This needs to be longer, it felt that everything had just gone at too fast a pace. Since it's a comic I can understand, but if it was longer and gave more detail it would be much more enthralling. I feel that this could have been done more justice as a fanfic.
I can't remember my DA password and it's not associated with my current email address. Also, I can't think of a new account name for myself on that site.
ReplyDeleteCan somepony please help me concerning this scenario? I really wanna see those comics!
One hell of an entrance exam.
ReplyDeleteThank Luna this was in black and white. Wouldn't have passed the gore scenes...
ReplyDeleteAwesome comic by the way. I still feel like it was rushed though. Would had wanted more but I'm okay with it.
That was cruel of Celestia.
ReplyDeleteThis is not what ponies meant to be.This is so rude and opprobrios to be pony comic for me.
ReplyDeleteSry if iam sounds a bit conservatism but thats just what iam think of this horrible thing.
After all the drawing style looks good if iam not think about the story behind it.
Puki maybe if you would make your spelling legible we would take you more seriously, thank you.
ReplyDeleteGreat.
ReplyDeleteTruly Great

ReplyDelete*snerk*
The problem with a flaming sword is the opponent with a can of gasoline.
Splash.
*chortle*
It was very well done, the style fit the mood perfectly. I just have a REALLY hard time getting into these sorts of things, Grimdark really doesn't fit this series, but I can respect a good comic when I see one.
ReplyDeleteThis was very well done and deserves praise, just not a second read. It depresses me XD
I can appreciate the work for what it is, but this is a level of Grimdark that I can seem to ever really enjoy. It sits hard, and is about as un-pony as it gets.
ReplyDelete... 0_0 ...
ReplyDelete...Just...
...
...Wow.
Now I mean, this is about as far from My Little Pony as you can get, but...DAMN. This is something else.
First, I felt sorry for Twilight's parents. Then, I felt sorry for the soldiers. Then I was like "fuck you Celestia".
ReplyDeleteGrimdark as fuck but awesome
ReplyDelete@Biglulu
ReplyDeleteThat is standard reaction.
I feel terrible after reading this. :'(
ReplyDeleteNice War...
ReplyDeleteThe badass guy says: Cool action and explosions
The moral is completely down
the intrigue is pretty high up just like the badass level
This must be the thing which sets the bar for Tyrantlestia the highest, so high that someone will have to go in a spaceship to get it down from orbit
Quite an extremist 4 Tyrantlestia
This is fucking awful and fucking fantastic at the same time... *tear of pain and joy*
ReplyDeleteI'm so conflicted here. As far as grimdark goes, this is good. I like how it has some sort of nasty alternate history thing going on. But the setting... I don't see why the author chose to throw in modern style scenes, gear and such. Maybe it's just me, but I think it was a bit too jarring. I found myself wondering why the author didn't make this a 100% original story instead.
ReplyDeleteEh, rambling nitpick mode: OFF. Still good stuff. :D
Wow... That's probably the most grimdark Trollestia I've seen!
ReplyDeleteThat was sad. And little filly Twilight crying, awwww. And her parents got killed. :'(
ReplyDeleteI thought some of it was honestly a bit corny, as these types of comics tend to be. But it wasn't bad besides that.
I WANT THIS INSTEAD OF MY LITTLE PONY!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was... Something else. An interesting AU. Not one I'd like to visit again anytime soon. But interesting.
ReplyDelete...could we have something happy now?
I loved it. I was engrossed the entire comic. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteImpressively drawn.
ReplyDeleteAlso alternate Twilight background that technically doesn't break canon = mind blown.
Interesting, but not a fan of evil Celestia.
ReplyDeleteThis... A sudden realisasion in Twilight's part.. the sight would have crushed her. no wonder she went berserk. i cried a bit :(
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm not sure what to say about that. Dark and awesome, but dark and horrible at the same time. I'm not sure I understood it. Was Celestia afraid, or was she really that twisted as to test Twilight like that? I'm not sure whether to love it or hate it...
ReplyDelete@Quell
ReplyDeleteTHIS
Dang, I hope the author continues this. I can't help but get a Warhammer 40k vibe from this. Twilight as part of Celestia's royal Inquisition?
ReplyDeleteCaught my eye as I was browsing. Page 4? meh. page 5? looks back at 4* Oh sh- I know where this is going!! Didn't know who the first victim was until I saw the 2nd. Nice read.
ReplyDeleteLooks like what the Mentally Advanced Series' Celestia would do. Every day.
ReplyDeleteThis comic was awesome. Tragic.
Didn't really find it impressive, honestly. There is potential for a really good story here, much like the Prologue to Severing, but the dialog of this is pretty clumsy and narmful; as are some of the drawn facial expressions when Twilight is going all Akira on them.
ReplyDeleteIt's Pony Noir. Show me a better noir FIM comic.
ReplyDeleteNoir anything is, as a rule, always awesome no matter what. With or without graphic violence.
Hell, the actual TV show will probably do a noir ep someday. Pinkie Pie Detective prolly. They already dabbled w/ it during the Spike interrogation. Every cartoon eventually does a noir ep if it stays in production long enough.
This is just messed up. I would have been a happier brony having never seen this stupid crap. Sorry, but I'm a fan of the show for a reason, and it's not because I want to see a bunch of profanity and gore. Don't post this kind of junk anymore.
ReplyDeleteoh my. that was ... nice. the art did fit the story.
ReplyDeletethough i'm confluttershy. was she testing whether Twi would kill? of course she would. uhm, all beings are capable of murder in the right circumstances. other than the removal of Twi's parents and the overall testing of her power, what's the point? and to waste a team of trained soldiers to do this? seems a bit inefficient.
it lived up to the grimdark tag. and it did mention that it had 'gore and swearing' so to all those who don't like that sort of thing but read it anyway?
uhm, pbbbbbt.
I don't even... but i like it. OP Twilight FTW.
ReplyDeleteFirst, it Is disturbing for me to see ponies like this. I like MLP:FiM for it's sheer cheerfulness and innocence.
ReplyDeleteBut once I get through that...damn this is awesome :P
I love it !!!
