imo applejack isnt popular because her charecter doesnt realy have any problems , and the ones she does have only exist for one episode or arent seent as bad charecter traits, she seams superstitious but its never called out, shes a tad money obsesed but its not seen as a bad thing, she over works herself but its only mentioned in one episode, i hope they expand on these "bad" traits and make her charecter more intersting in season 2,
Applejack is the fact core, now we just need discord to hypnotize a pony whose afraid of space and a cowardly pony to get both an adventure core and a space core....
@Jebediah Oldenheimer Oops, forgot that the Fact Core told mostly lies. I wasn't paying enough attention to the ramblings of the corrupt cores due to the fact that I had no idea what the hell I was doing through the duration of that final part of the game.
Wait, does Applejack say things that she believes to be lies oooor does she have some kind of new sixth sense to know what is the exact opposite of the truth?
The latter would mean shes an invaluable tool for science and philosophy.
Celestia: "Derpy cannot be altered in any way, she is the key to our victory!" Derpy: "Muffin" Celestia: "Derpy, the fate of equestria and your friends, is now in your hooves." Derpy: "Muffin" Celestia: "DERPY!" >Insert angry face<
Oh course the moon landing didn't occur in 1969! If the ponies use the same date system as us..... Luna walked on the moon in 1010 AD. And nobodies visited her since.
There's a major typo in the Liar-jack comic. She's saying "the moon landing in 1969 was real" when she clearly should have said "professional wrestling is real". Seriously, if Buzz Aldrin caught wind of this, he'd give a punch in the face to whover did this comic.
Ohhh boy... if the internet was quick to pair up Luna and Space Core, how long will it be until LiarJack meets Fact Core?
Fact: It will never catch on. Fact: The Fact Core has nothing in common with LiarJack, and therefore there will never be any comparisons between the two of them
Man... That last panel makes me want to reach through the fourth wall and give Twi big old hug, the poor filly. Also, LOLWUT @ the Equestrian lunar program... AJ's Lie speaks truth! Poor, poor Luna, the lonely astronaut! She got sent up and had to wait 1000 years for rescue! Budget cuts and lack of public interest, you know.
I think the person ment that the moon landing not being real was a joke in it's self. Not that he believes that, he put it in there to be funny like (oh crap it wasn't real gasp!)
That was hilarious! And yes, Applejack hasn't had enough character development to be very popular among bronies, but after discord got to her, I thought she was pretty funny.
I wonder if Applejack can undoubtedly lie about things she doesn't know. If so, her "ability" can be used as a medium to circumvent the (dumb) fabric of space and time! Works the same way if she were telling always the precise truth, now that I think about it.
Haha. Derpy is immune to any such magic because well... Derpy. lol
Doh ho ho! Silly Applejack! I love when she's trying to keep quiet and she has her nose scrunched up like that. Tis cute. :) Twilight is totally disbelieving in Santa though. No presents for her this year.
I look at that second comic and I can almost hear Liarjack saying something truly terrible: "Twi, you're our best friend and we all really care about and respect you."
"This meme might be just the thing Applejack needs to finally take over the ponydom for once."
Eh... I worry about that. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving the Liarjack meme, and glad that AJ's getting some attention. And sure, all of the mental breakdowns in Season 1 were epic (part of the reason I fell in love with the show TBH), and the Discorded ponies in the last episode were amazing too.
BUUUT on the other hoof, you don't want anypony to be popular ONLY in episodes where they're acting goofy (The Return of Harmony Part 1, Applebuck Season). AJ deserves a standout episode where she's in her right mind, too :(
Yes, Sumica, because the punchline is much more important than debunking a conspiracy theory. I'm a physicist. Telling me that there wasn't a moon landing is like telling a materials scientist that there's no such thing as graphene. In short; arglrarglraegraegraeg.
Oh com'on, you take it waaaay to seriously damn it. Poor artist of the second comic had to disable comments because people were bombarding him with stuff about the moonlanding, GET OVER IT !!!
It's just a comic, it was a joke. I swear I simply cannot imagine what drives one into a fanatic crusade because of something like this. As if you HAVE TO prove it and NEED TO convince people of anything. All this becuase of a pony comic.
You "oh so scientific" people, while indulging in your vast orgy of logic and reason, really can't see how ironic this is?
You take it so seriously you don't even allow the slightest implication of anything in contradiction with science to appear, not even in a comic.
Where have I seen this before...religious zealots? The Church? Oh yeah. What's next, you are going to crucify the next artist/write/whatever who makes a joke of the hadron collider being a giant strawberry mixer?
Smear as much as you want, this is one of the prime reasons why I think science, in one way or another, is just another religion, fills the same needs and invokes the same reaction from people.
Times change. Technology changes. But humans don't.
Anyhow, it's now me taking this too seriously, so no more ranting. Just please, leave the artists alone. Especially the brony artists, since I'm pretty confident they aim to entertain rather than opening debates and questioning the foundations of science (or anything at all).
@Ewyndall It's a sore issue, Ewyndall. It would be a bit like adding something about abortion.
Science is not just another religion because science changes its views based on evidence rather than ignoring or trying to discredit evidence that doesn't match its preconceived notions. If you show me convincing evidence that the landings were faked, I'll turn on a dime and start shouting in the streets that, oh my god, we were deceived! But that's not the case, and to claim otherwise pisses on the thousands of people who worked together to bring this to fruition, on the lives of those who died in the process, and on the single greatest achievement in the history of humanity.
@silentcarto If religious people can take a joke about their religion from time to time without flipping out, then you (and others) should be able to take a joke about the moon landings from time to time. Besides, the artist said that it was just part of the joke, and you can think of it as "Applejack wouldn't believe that the moon landings are real." rather than the artist trying to state that they weren't.
I think the creator of the comic threw in that moon landing thing just for trolling purposes. I see many mad people here. Successful troll was successful.
Similarities are still hard to deny. Science's higher reason is either science itself, or progress, betterment of mankind, etc. Religion usualy puts some noble goal aswell, usualy something about pleasing chosen God thus providing a better life, ranging from saving people soul to better crops.
In pursue of said higher cause, both are comitting arbitrary sacrifices. Animal / human experiments for science or sacrifice in the case of some religions.
Obviously there are differences that shouldn't be looked over, but I tend to believe that for everyday people, it acts the same.
People who don't really do science i.e. they aren't scientist themselves can't do much but blindly follow what was told them that was scientifily proven (just think of the masses ordering crap from TV which is sold by cheap lines such as "scientificly breakthrough"). They don't need evidence coz, well, they wouldn't understand it anyways. Comon, prove me that black holes exist. You can't. Even if you had all the evidence, equations, theories of high physics in your mind I wouldn't understand it, coz I have no training of any kind in that field. I accept their existense coz the world around me tells so.
Now, spin back time, 600 years for example. "This is so COZ GOD WILLS" and the priests deducted it from the holy scripts. Common people had no control over it, lack of ability to read and lack of theological knowledge. They accepted it, coz it gave them a sufficent answers + the world around them accepted it.
I don't think priests wanted to scam people at all, they truly believed in what they said and for them, said scripts or miracles were proof.
And people followed.
What I'm trying to tell here, even if I probably lack the verbal ability in my current state:
For the everyday person, both science and religion works the same way. The purpose for both were to give answers to our questions as to why things happen and how they work while having little control over its validity themselves.
Honestly. If tomorrow Science magazine writes an article that Pluto is actually made of painted rubber ducks, what can you do? Ask for evidence? They will probably toss you a bunch of info you can't analyze. They will claim they have proven it, have evidence, you just lack the ability to understand. And let's be honest, apart from common sense, you would have nothing against it.
My second point is: people attacking this artist are hypocrits.
Honestly, how many people are there who's relatives, even distant relatives have been working on or were involved in the moon landing? I don't think a lot, and even less who's family had to sacrifice anything for it. They have nothing personal in this matter.
They are just shouting and smearing the same way any peasent would have 600 years ago against someone who claimed God doesn't exist or the Holy Church is fake.
Simply put: this whole thing has NOTHING to do with science actually. Nothing. It's about someone making a joke about something that can be considered a national pride and the base of people's views.
And some feel the need to counter-attack to defend their little world and cofidence.
Now, I ask you, if an innocent pony comic can result in such a reaction, I wonder how would the very same people react to anything more serious.
(Some sci-fi novels come to mind where a science-based regime takes control and kills/removes anyone denying their scientific views).
Umm, you know the moon landing WAS real, right? But I did flip out about that because that had nothing to do with the actual joke itself. The point of the joke was Twilight still believes in Santa, and refuses to accept otherwise. Honestly, you can disagree with something, but if it's not the direct point or even a side point, I see no reason in making it a huge debate.

ReplyDeletewait AppleJack is that "Fact" Core in Portal 2?
ReplyDeleteMy only problem with this comic is the "moon landing" bit because it actually happened.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I'd think discord!Octavia would be into death-metal or grunge and discord!Vinyl would be into bubblegum pop.
ReplyDeletePeople don't get the moon landing joke lol....WAIT SANTA NOT"S REAL!?!?!?! NOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS
ReplyDeleteSanta?!
ReplyDeleteWHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
I prefer stealth pinkie over pokerface applejack.
@EHeroFlareNeos Not in Equestria, it didn't.
ReplyDeleteOh my god Discord, you made her worse. How could you possible make Derpy worse? I didn't think that was possible.
ReplyDelete@YetAnotherBrony dear god, don't jinx vinal scratch like that!
ReplyDeleteI liked AJ before, but this Liarjack meme just solidified my liking of her!
ReplyDelete@nemryn Touche
ReplyDeleteOh god I couldn't stop laughing at the last panel of the second one. "I'm not listening!"
ReplyDeletethat last scene in the second comic was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI think the moon landing bit is a joke.
ReplyDeleteThose comics are pretty funny spite the historical inaccuracies lol.
ReplyDeleteimo applejack isnt popular because her charecter doesnt realy have any problems , and the ones she does have only exist for one episode or arent seent as bad charecter traits, she seams superstitious but its never called out, shes a tad money obsesed but its not seen as a bad thing, she over works herself but its only mentioned in one episode, i hope they expand on these "bad" traits and make her charecter more intersting in season 2,
ReplyDeletethe comic is awesome by the way
Wobbly Derpy is the best Derpy!
ReplyDeleteThe moon landing was real....
ReplyDelete@HipsterKitty
ReplyDeleteIt's a conspiracy!
What happens if Discord discordifies Discord?
ReplyDeleteApplejack is the fact core, now we just need discord to hypnotize a pony whose afraid of space and a cowardly pony to get both an adventure core and a space core....
ReplyDeleteSSSSSSPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Both comics had me rolling. Poor Twilight.
ReplyDeletederpy is impossible to defeat >:D
ReplyDeleteSilly Discord you can't corrupt Derpy. Derpy is everything and nothing. How do you corrupt that?
ReplyDeleteOther than the lunar landing bit I do like #2. Poor Twilight.
@DJ Midli
ReplyDeleteYeah! just like taking the derivative of the exponential function!
@LegatoSkyheart
ReplyDeleteExcept the opposite, instead of facts she yells out lies.
@HipsterKitty
ReplyDeleteOR a parasprite/troll
@Nikita
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would be like Sheogorath becoming Jyggalag.
We'd have to ask Luna if the moon landing was real, she'd know
ReplyDelete@Jebediah Oldenheimer
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot that the Fact Core told mostly lies. I wasn't paying enough attention to the ramblings of the corrupt cores due to the fact that I had no idea what the hell I was doing through the duration of that final part of the game.

Derpy: "Muffin"
Celestia: "DERPY!" >Insert angry face<
Liarjack gets better every time I see her. XD
ReplyDeleteThe second comic made me laugh when I saw the first panel.
ReplyDeleteThey so should have given Discord Derpy eyes after he brainwashed her!
ReplyDeleteShe snuck a truthful statement in there.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the Applejack one. So she mumbles a bunch of lies then shouts a truth?
ReplyDeleteOh course the moon landing didn't occur in 1969!
ReplyDeleteIf the ponies use the same date system as us.....
Luna walked on the moon in 1010 AD.
And nobodies visited her since.
Discorded Applejack is my favorite because even when she's a liar she's terrible at it. The element of honesty is still in there, somewhere.
ReplyDeleteXD The second one is too funny. Bahaha, poor Twilight.
ReplyDeleteThere's a major typo in the Liar-jack comic. She's saying "the moon landing in 1969 was real" when she clearly should have said "professional wrestling is real". Seriously, if Buzz Aldrin caught wind of this, he'd give a punch in the face to whover did this comic.

ReplyDeletePretty sure the only pony to land on the moon was Luna. Chill, bro.
#1 You can never really tell, can you?
ReplyDelete#2 Wait... WHAT? HE'S NOT REAL?! My life is ruined!!!
I think the person ment that the moon landing not being real was a joke in it's self. Not that he believes that, he put it in there to be funny like (oh crap it wasn't real gasp!)
ReplyDeleteLiarjack's lie face humors me to no end. I think it was my favorite thing in the new episode.

@Joey Wonton
ReplyDelete*gasp* I have so many questions now!
I wonder if Applejack can undoubtedly lie about things she doesn't know. If so, her "ability" can be used as a medium to circumvent the (dumb) fabric of space and time! Works the same way if she were telling always the precise truth, now that I think about it.
ReplyDeleteNah, wha em I sayin', dats jus' crazee tuk!
Put Liarjack out of her misery now Twilight.
ReplyDeleteDiscord's powers still scare me.

ReplyDeleteNo, gangsta rap.

ReplyDeleteenope.pony
ReplyDeletelol, people who think the moon landing was real.

ReplyDelete*Discord touches Vinyl Scratch*
ReplyDeleteDiscord: HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Vinyl, cowering: Please, not so loud...
Santa Hooves... Ponies don't have claws.
ReplyDeleteI look at that second comic and I can almost hear Liarjack saying something truly terrible: "Twi, you're our best friend and we all really care about and respect you."
ReplyDeleteUh... In the first comic, Derpy has 5 legs in panel 2.
ReplyDelete"This meme might be just the thing Applejack needs to finally take over the ponydom for once."
ReplyDeleteEh... I worry about that. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving the Liarjack meme, and glad that AJ's getting some attention. IT'S SETTLED! Discord Applejack is the Fact Core!!!
ReplyDeleteDid we decide which Pinkie Pie is? Curiosity Core? Space Core?
I'd go with Space Core.
How about... Twilight as the Intelligence Core? Yeah, it's just cake recipes but the voice seem to match!
Any other ideas?!
No wait! Pinkie Pie is definitely Curiosity Core!
ReplyDeleteLOL hipster kitty i agree. Good otherwise.
ReplyDelete@RiffBrony
ReplyDeleteDerpy has 5 legs... Sweetie Belle was partly responsible for releasing the body of Discord...
SWEETIE BELLE IS DISCORD'S ALTER EGO!!!
I wonder how long it will be before lairjack is shipped with the fact core...
ReplyDeleteWell of course! You don't LAND on the moon, you GET BANISHED to the moon.
ReplyDelete>>"The moon landing on 1969 was real..."
ReplyDeleteLOL, Applejack is a conspiracy theorist.
#2 is just hilarious
ReplyDeleteYes in my opinion Applejack has always been darling, but I have to say Bullcrapplejack somehow makes her even moreso. That face is just pure gold~ ^.^
ReplyDeletePoor twilight. Still wanting to believe in pony claus. Ahh well. And applejack... SHUT UP!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it was a joke, it's funny because of the reaction it got.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not a joke, it's funny because the artist is clearly a loon.
Either way, I lol'd.
#2
ReplyDelete>implying the moon landing was fake
>implying the Mythbusters are inaccurate
>implying this entire comic isn't ruined now
#1
ReplyDeleteDerpy! Don't go full derp! You NEVER go full derp!
So many people pestered the artist over number 2 posting was disabled. Way to focus on the punchline.
ReplyDeleteYes, Sumica, because the punchline is much more important than debunking a conspiracy theory. I'm a physicist. Telling me that there wasn't a moon landing is like telling a materials scientist that there's no such thing as graphene. In short; arglrarglraegraegraeg.

As if you HAVE TO prove it and NEED TO convince people of anything. All this becuase of a pony comic.
Honestly. Chill down.
You "oh so scientific" people, while indulging in your vast orgy of logic and reason, really can't see how ironic this is?

@silentcarto If religious people can take a joke about their religion from time to time without flipping out, then you (and others) should be able to take a joke about the moon landings from time to time. Besides, the artist said that it was just part of the joke, and you can think of it as "Applejack wouldn't believe that the moon landings are real." rather than the artist trying to state that they weren't.
ReplyDeleteOnly Derpy could throw Discord off, that's just too funny, and I have to admit as hilarious as Liarjack is...i want my normal AJ back :(
ReplyDelete@HipsterKitty
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps it was merely a joke, and wasn't intended to be taken as an accurate representation of the author's beliefs
