The first one was sad :( Kinda vague on exactly what happened to her mom except that she didn't make it. Thankfully the second one gave me a good laugh. Trollestia strikes again.
Oh come now, you should always finish anything you start, even if that task is sending Spike all of Twilights friendship reports and extra notes.
Im going to hold of reading one till the second parts up since I hate waiting for things especially if they end of a sad note and the part i'm waiting for contains the happy.
The first comic is starting out very well, though I can't really judge it until it's complete.
The second one I saw coming as soon as I watched that scene in the second episode. C'mon, Twilight, couldn't you at least have given him some sodium bicarbonate or something?
That first comic: LMAO. So what, Dash's mother was VAPORIZED by lightning? That's a real stretch. The other comic that artist did with Pinkie Pie was really sweet, but this one is just waaaaay too far out there.
A friend of mine told me today that I've seems like a downer lately. He asked what have I been doing on the internet that could get me so down. I just told him I've been reading pony comics. So he went and looked at some of them, came back an hour later and said that he has figured it out: I've been reading too many sad pony comics. He then left wondering how the hell did Bronies make My Little Pony depressing.
Not so much that but she either went missing or perished during the lightning storm (such as being struck by lightning and falling through the clouds) and all that remains is the hat.
That first comic... oh goodness, is that one sad sad pony comic. Though it was storming all on it's own? I guess they must've been over the Everfree forest. I love how she comes back, sort to speak, and acts all tough but then when she gets back home, she goes back to mourning. Poor Dash. :'(
And lmao. Trollestia striking again, I see. Though I do concur, it is kinda hilarious. At least in this comic! :D
The second comic did remind me of some thing I thought of when watching episode 2, When Twilight remembers her friendship thanks to celestia sending letters she doesn't tell celestia that she got the message and so celestia might of kept on sending letters and putting spike through even more trouble while twilight is collecting her friends.
I think of all the fan-made content, it's the sad stuff that I love to most. My absolute favorite is the egophilliac video of luna/celestia set to "when she loved me" I still cry when I watch that.
What is it with bronies and killing ponies? I'll bet you that the main 6 all have healthy well adjusted families, and that there are no tragic events in any of their foalhoods. It's just so predictable. I knew in the first panel that mommy was going to die. It would have been a nice surprise for that not to happen, but death is a cheap way to build character. /Shrug
Once again, this fandom makes me go from tears to laughing like an idiot. God, never has something been so depressing only to turn into humourous content. That comic of Pinkie's sister yesterday was just... so terrible on an emotional level. The last panel in the first one... so freakin' sad.
@Ironlenny Well, Pinkie Pie's family was shown as being very dour and humorless up until Pinkie got her cutie mark and threw her first party; it may not have been serious enough to call her family dysfunctional, but I wouldn't call it well-adjusted, either. And while I suspect Rainbow Dash had a caring family herself, her friendship with Gilda and the comments about her dropping out of flight school (though she did deny that charge) hint at the possibility of a troubled childhood.
And I'll say it again, I'm not judging the first comic until the second part's up.

#1 made me think of the video to this awesome song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrgcRvBJYBE
ReplyDelete...it's not pony related, though. Hah, it is hard to imagine something NOT pony related being awesome, isn't it?
The first one. . . is gorgeous! And the hat is reminiscent of G3 Rainbow Dash's old hat. Bravo.
ReplyDeleteThe second one. . . um. . . not so much.
I dun't like sad stuff. That's why it's called sad! :(
ReplyDeleteThat first one wasn't all to sad, or maybe all the recent sad has made me build up a resistance to it though.
ReplyDelete#2 was funny, Trollestia just doing her trollyal duties.

ReplyDeleteSad Dashie is sad. /hug Dashie

ReplyDelete#1. "Part 1". Good, there'll be more. I want more manly tears to fall.
ReplyDelete#2. Trollestia, really? *sigh, shakes head*
Damn that hat, I went the whole comic with "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style". Totally killed the mood.
ReplyDelete@Vanishing

Was there some talks about the Mane6's parents in Season2? (or was it rumor?) I'm looking forward to the stories if there will be.
ReplyDelete1.Rainbow Dash always dresses in style...
ReplyDelete2.Oh Trollestia.
Very good comics..
ReplyDelete#1: Pretty sad but "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style" came into my head :D
#2: Trollestia at her finest :)
D'A-LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow, Celestia, nice to know you managed to keep yourself busy while your student was off facing mortal peril fighting against your oldest nemesis.
ReplyDeleteOrphaned Dash? That's too much. My fragile heart, it is... dashed.
ReplyDeleteI NEED PART TWO SO I CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT!
ReplyDelete#1: Make the bad man stop! /cry
ReplyDelete#2: Ha! Yeah, good ol' Trollestia. :D ;)
First the Pinkie Pie one with her sister having cancer and now this with Rainbow Dash and her mom... This artist is a professional tear-jerker. :(
ReplyDeleteStill wonderful nonetheless.

ReplyDeleteSaw all these on the Ponibooru before they went up. They're still sad/funny, in that order.
ReplyDeletepoor dashie and princess celestia should have her troll face that troll never gets old OwO •w•
ReplyDelete@Jimperz Not just sister, TWIN sister. Makes it even more sad
ReplyDeleteas soon as I saw that hat I instantly thought "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style!"
ReplyDeleteOh gawd! IT BURNS!
This fandom has me bouncing between crushing depression and hilarity-fueled happiness.
ReplyDeleteRainbow Dash Always Dresses in Sty--- ow.... T_T
ReplyDeleteDid Bambi just freakin' happen?
ReplyDeleteFirst I was sad.
ReplyDeleteThen I was pissed. I'm getting tired of all the Trollesita nonsense.
I think of all the fan-made content, it's the sad stuff that I love to most.

ReplyDelete#1 just makes me want to hug a Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDelete#2 makes me think that Celestia was sending all those letters just to torture poor old Spike.

ReplyDeleteAnd then Trollestia. Of course...
Ponies, why you make me both happy and sad!?
I am sorta sad about the 1st comic, but also sorta not. Why?
ReplyDelete'Cause everypony knows that Rainbow Dash's mom is Firefly!
.. please make this happen Hasbro. Use some magic lawyer powers if need be to get the copyright!
That first one- I- just- T_T
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing as second one.
The most extroverted and aggressive pony has mommy & daddy issues?
ReplyDeleteNO WAI!!
@Ironlenny

first one: DDDAAAAWWWWWWW CRYING
ReplyDeleteseconds one: LOLOLOLOLOLO CRYING
The second one's funny, but it wasn't nearly enough to balance out the first. My face is still wet.
