*Update* MULTIPLE people from the FiM team have confirmed the title/description of the episode
*Update #2* Regardless of the actual title/description being confirmed, TV air dates are always subject to change.
Supposedly Season 2 will begin on September 17th 9AM eastern time. Someone from a TV listing company emailed me this information directly, and said he would get us some more proof on it tomorrow, though it has been floating around all morning on various forums/chans for pony.
Episode one is titled "The Return of Harmony" - Spoilered: Discord escapes from his stone prison and Twilight and her friends act quickly to find the Elements of Harmony to stop him. (Not sure why they are re-tracking them down if they already have them, but it's just a rumor right?)
Until it's all finalized, this is only a rumor though. The commercial a few days ago does sort of hint that the second season is very soon, so it's a very possible rumor.

Also, September 17th is a Saturday. This could be really EPIC news for me.
While the day, date, and title all look very plausible (We did know that Luna was going to return in some form for S2, and this would be great way of bringing back both her and The Elements), as others have mentioned, I'll wait until official confirmation until I truly get excited. A month out, television schedules are at best tentative, with them only nailed down a couple weeks before (if then).
ReplyDeleteOn the one hoof, it is a neat concession to Bronies to have the episodes debut on Saturday morning rather than Friday afternoons like S1. On the other hoof, it is really going to suck for us West Coast Bronies, since that means the new shows start at 6am, with no repeats. I don't know about y'all, but I'm not exactly keen on getting up at 6am on a Saturday for anything.....

ReplyDeleteWell this is certainly exciting. I wonder if Discord is an alicorn, possibly related to the Royal Sisters or something. Or he is possibly some kind of magic being, perhaps one that influenced Luna a thousand years ago.
It does sound like a similar premise to the Season One pilot though; escape from stone prison/moon prison, powerful villain that only the EoH can stop, Mane 6 having to track down the Elements of Harmony. Ah well, it still sounds like a really cool plot. Perhaps he'll be a villain for the show, although Hasbro did specify a non-story arc type of episode style (that could have changed however).
Okay, okay, okay. Sabrina's comment right above basically confirms that this episode isn't a two-parter, or part of an over-arching plot, since apparently it was supposed to be the finale. That also gives us a good guess that this season will be as interchangable as last in terms of order, which I think most of us expected.

ReplyDeleteIf HUB is planning to revamp the new eps to Saturday in the morning I'm all for that actually. It's been getting hard to explain to employers why i can't be at work before 3pm on Fridays. :P
