This Taobao website must have either a time machine, or a witch doctor, because they always seem to get the random toys listed before anyone else!
This is a MLP train set. I have no clue when or where it will be released, but it's listed here!
Thanks to Purple Tinker for the heads up!
Also the DVD set?

I don't think that's the DVD set, that's just 'The Best Night Ever' (most likely). The title reads 'La Gran Gala', which I can only presume is the Spanish (Italian? Portuguese?) title for 'The Best Night Ever'.
ReplyDeleteAll aboard the Pony Express!
ReplyDeleteThe person whom has hopefully topped the list in the numerical order of commentations.
ReplyDeleteIt's not italian. But I wonder why don't they release a Celestia danm dvd set?
ReplyDeleteBah, those train carts don't look anything like in the show! And it's not even a horse-drawn train!
ReplyDeleteToy industry I am disappoint...
...
*Rushes off to the store*
They'll do what they do for most TV shows, 3-4 Episodes per disk, then a Box set season model.
ReplyDeleteStill it's a nice sign that I'll be able to grab all the episodes at some point, Youtube had never been so useful while Babysitting.
That's Spanish, but is it Spain spanish, or Latin American spanish?
ReplyDeleteWe might never now...
I'd guess that it's a singular episode on the dvd. Which is unfortunate, but a start at the very least.
ReplyDeleteI think they wont do a DVD/Bluray set of the complete season 1 till a while later. Possibly durig season 2's airwaves methinks.
ReplyDeleteI also reckon the cover for the complete season set will be similar to the comic con poster in that it doesnt use generic vectors.
Guys, stop asking for DVDs. The magic word is Blu-Ray.
ReplyDeleteUh, does anyone really want to ride a train where Pinkie Pie is the engineer?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiUAaMYof5s&feature=player_detailpage
Yeah, that DVD set looks like the one we Mexican cabronies will get in a couple of months or more. Rather dissapointing, I must say.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Pinkie Pie driving a train? Sure she's random, but THAT random? =0
How is that train moving? Nopony is pulling it...
ReplyDeleteOUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS LITTLE GIRLS. SO WE GAVE THEM A TRAIN SET.
ReplyDeleteOh sorry: I did mean "single DVD". My mistake.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it's the same Ticket Master episode that's already in French and Dutch.
ReplyDeleteI've got to say, these are some of the more creative toy train tracks I've seen
ReplyDeleteAnyone else feel a little jealous that that little girl has two Rarity toys when its so hard just find one of any of them? Might just be me.
ReplyDelete....I really have to get a new hobby or move to a better country.
@Anonymous Yes. http://s3.amazonaws.com/kym-assets/entries/icons/original/000/000/727/DenshaDeD_ch01p16-17.png?1251056131
ReplyDeleteAlso, "La Gran Gala" = "The (Great, Grand, etc) Gala". "La Gran Gala Galopante" doesn't quite roll off the tongue.
The DVD seems spanish, because it says "La Magia de la Amistad". Wow, if they release DVD's in spanish before the actual show that means they might release the show and the DVD's at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHow many of you can say "Bad idea"?
lol what is this purple????????? ohh god
ReplyDeleteWhy would they let Pinkie drive the train?!
ReplyDeleteSHELL KILL US ALL
lol, just imagine a bearded, happy man instead of the lil girl:D
ReplyDeleteBox set for Sonic SatAM: comprised entirely of fan art. You can do it, Hasbro!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the other commenters here, from the translation, it sounds like just the last episode. There's no mention of "season one" or anything to suggest it's part of a bigger set (Although there's not much to go on). Plus, if they were planning a serious DVD release, I don't think it would be shrink wrapped with a Twilight miniature. Then again, MLP is the first time I've interacted with Hasbro in about a decade, and the first when I've been spending my own money, so I'm not too familiar with how they do things.
ReplyDeleteTaoBao is a Chinese auction site, if I remember correctly, and the factories are in China. Everything hits there first.
ReplyDeleteWhy are there always little kids on the boxes of the merchandise? IT MAKES ME FEEL WEIRD
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYeah no kidding. With the sources we have we can already make essentially perfect quality DVD sets. But there is no way to make a perfect 1080p set. The iTunes rips are only 720p, and the TV rips have burned in logos and visibly distracting motion compression artifacts. The only way to increase the quality over what we have now is a 1080p Blu-ray release.
HERE COMES THE COLT TRAIN BABY
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPk1LtESE-U
No, seriously, what is Hasbro smoking? Trains? Cars?
@Toy Soldier Scratch
ReplyDeleteI don't know about that; that's the first toy train track I've seen that apparently expects a child to make the train phase through itself as it comes about >.>
First
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie in a train. This can't end well.
ReplyDeleteAs a Brony who's real life occupation is a locomotive engineer, the Pony Train made me bend over in laughter. I doubt Pinkie Pie has passed any Federal Railroad Administration qualifications.
ReplyDeleteTwilight Sparkle is another matter…she actually could do it, and she’s the only one I would trust behind a locomotive's throttle.
At least the got creative with the track and didn't just throw out an oval!
KevinSano has a good point, the Ticket master episode was translated to several languages already, I doubt the first episode released on DVD would be the LAST episode, that would be too awkward.
ReplyDelete@Purple Tinker it's spanish maybe for the big gala
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who's really, really happy that they're moving outside the stereotypical "girl toys"? As a girl who much preferred her toy cars and k'nex to her one My Little Pony while growing up, I think this is kinda awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh, listen to the jingle, the rumble of the hog
ReplyDeleteAs she glides threw Everfree Forist, o'r Froggy Bottom Bog
She climb’s Canterlot’s mountain, hear the merry whistle call
She’s full of crazy ponies, she’s the Equestria Cannonball!
I have rode the I.C. Limited, also the Royal Blue
Across the Eastern countries on Elkhorn Number Two
But when you party with ponies, for them you will just fall!
So I have found no equal to the Equestria Cannonball.
Oh, here's to Twilight Sparkle, let her name forever last
And long be remembered for the spells that she has cast
For she is a good old rounder threw spring, winter, and fall
She'll be behind the throttle bar on the Equestria Cannonball!
She pulled in to Ponyville one warm summer day
As she rolled up to the platform you could hear all the ponies say
There's a gal from Canterlot; she's got no friends at all
The princess sent her too us on the Equestria Cannonball!
The moon bound mare returned, and stole the sun away
But Twilight saw the coming signs, and she had somethin’ to say
Using the harmonic elements, the nightmare moon did fall
The magic of friendship saved the Equestria Cannonball!
Oh, listen to the jingle, the rumble of the hog
As she glides threw Everfree Forist, o'r Froggy Bottom Bog
She climb’s Canterlot’s mountain, hear the merry whistle call
She’s full of crazy ponies, she’s the Equestria Cannonball!
It looks like a Spanish DVD, im from Spain so i can traslate it
ReplyDelete"My Little Pony la magia de la amistad" is the spanish title of the show
"La Gran Gala" Means The grand gala, obviously.
looks like a music DvD, will Spain have exclusive stuff? probably, if someones manages to get that DvD he will upload the content to somewhere
Wow, thats a very creative and catchy twist on "Wabash Cannonball" up there!
ReplyDeleteI love this community!
But...that train...looks nothing like.....the train.......that episode....aw....
ReplyDeleteWHY IS EVERYTHING PINK
ReplyDeleteEven your originally intended audience has complained about this, Hasbro.
@Anonymous: Yeah, same here. Even as a girl growing up in the early 90's I couldn't stand MLP, Barbie, or whatever else was being marketed to girls at the time. I liked animal plushies, Lego and Pokemon, and got berated by kids at school over it. (Apparently Pokemon was a boys-only club. Who knew?)
ReplyDeleteI just really hope they play up that whole Twilight Sparkle "Brains And Beauty" thing they seem to be doing. It'd be nice for at least one or two role models in the show to emphasize that intelligence and hard work don't make you ugly, as seems to be the case with most toys and products made for young girls.
I still have a sneaking suspicion that they made all of the Princess Celestia toys pink because "princesses HAVE to be pink, or the young girls wont understand." (Habro logic) :/
But there are no rail ponies to pull the train. :(
ReplyDelete@Purple Tinker
ReplyDeleteOn the nose, leader! It's Spanish for "The Grand Gala", which is what I assume they will be calling the Grand Galloping Gala in Spanish speaking regions to save on syllables when dubbing it.
Also that pony train is ridiculous and hilarious.
Rarity's eye is really screwed up.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like both Rarity and Pinkie have been shaded in the train box art. Is that new, or have they been doing that all along? If it's new, it suggests they're investing more time, energy, and money into these toys.
ReplyDelete@SyrinKitty
ReplyDeleteLauren Faust said on dA that a good reason why a lot of these are pink are because of the retailers:
"I'll buy 50, but I'll buy 500 if you make it pink."
Retailers assume girls are only interested in pink toys, thus they'll buy more of a toy if it's pink or otherwise more "girly" because then they assume a pink toy will sell better, which reinforces the idea that girls only buy pink toys, which mean retailers assume girls are only interested in pink toys...
The annoying thing is, this only seems to have exploded on to the market in the past 5-10 years or so.
That DVD contains three episodes in both english and spanish audio. A representative from Hasbro Mexico announced it when someone asked if ponies were going to be available there (don't have the image right here, you can check the Canterlot forum)
ReplyDeleteIf only we could see the back of the case...
Well we HAVE seen a train in the first season, but it wasn´t pink, nor had Pinkie as driver o;
ReplyDeleteWith this train and Pinkie's car both being showcased recently, I now pose the following question:
ReplyDeleteWho wins in a car race, Pinkie Pie, or Toonces the Driving Cat?
(Actually, I already know the answer. The winner is those of us who get to watch the race from a safe distance away.)
I need these. O.O
ReplyDeleteI'll agree with Purple Tinker when I say that isn't a DVD set. Like Pokemon and so many other cartoons, they'll release a lot of single or double episode DVDs until they finally decide to put out a season set.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when a season set is released, there will be a MUCH bigger deal made out of it.
@Laurence Brown
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter if Toonses wins or loses, he'll still drive off a cliff at the end. I could actually see Pinkie suddenly appearing in Toonses' car and spooking the poor kitty.
Pinkie Pie now has a train, land is no longer safe to travel. Atleast the Pegasi are safe. (Next toy is a plane driven by Pinkie Pie).
ReplyDeleteWhat's with Pinkie getting all the vehicles?
ReplyDeleteI always despised pink. I wanted everything in yellow or blue when I was a young girl, the age of the show's target audience. Maybe I was the minority, but if a toy (or anything) were too pink, I'd pass it up or prefer getting a jump rope or card game. They were losing money from kids like me. I doubt they'd realize that, though.
ReplyDeleteMore on-topic: The train is pretty cool. If it's out I'm time for Christmas shopping, I'm sure my brother will love it. He has so much pony stuff, but a train would awesome.
ReplyDelete@Brownd
ReplyDelete>That DVD contains three episodes in both english and spanish audio.
I wonder which three? My guess would be 'Ticket Master', 'Suited for Success' and 'Best Night Ever' because those three could make up one continuous storyline if put back to back.
IM GOING OFF THE RAILS ON A PINKE TRAIN!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, sorry I meant two in my comment. I meant it's probably the latinamerican version of the canterlot DVD talked about a while back here.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.imagengratis.org/images/corrreo.png
I just checked, The DVD is for Mexico, Spain's logo is different
ReplyDeleteBTW: I sooooooo want that Fluttershy toy :3
@Vermillion TwilightThat's the best guess I've heard so far.
ReplyDeleteAges 3+
ReplyDeleteSilly Hasbro...
Hot diggity damn. Pinkie not only owns a car but her own locomotive as well?
ReplyDelete...Well, I suppose that makes sense, in the consideration she IS insane like a runaway train, though seriously--how would she have the bits to afford such things?
Methinks something's shady goin' on in the Sugarcube Corner here...
Some fumbling with Google translate says that the DVD is 22 minutes long. That seems to correlate with a single-episode release.
ReplyDeleteWhat confuses me is that it's a Spanish DVD on a Japanese web page.
That Train. I want it so I can play with the kids I babysit. XD They have a big track set for that kind of train, it would be so much fun to have my Fluttershy in the train and going around the track while they played with their Lightning McQueens (They have a red Lightning and a Dynoco blue).
DVD comes with blind bag Twilight.
ReplyDeleteI'm ok with this.
@Miyari
ReplyDeleteOf course! Everyone knows young girls love train-spotting.
@Florentine
I noticed that too. I presume they expect that not all carriages will be on at once, plus it teaches the child a valuable lesson in rail collisions, and the devastating effects they can have an somepony's life.
I don't understand why the hell it's in Spanish, when the show still hasn't been aired in said language (although it seems they have finished dubbing it, assuming they do it by episode number of course).
ReplyDeleteYeah, too bad the DVD is only for that episode. Still have a little for a full DVD release.
ReplyDeletePinkie driving a train now? And you thought her driving a car was dangerous...
hey, ponychan mods. My ban was a month, and I didnt evade. Now its a perma for no reason.
ReplyDeleteDYKAS EVEN ONLY GOT A WEEK AND HE'S A FAR WORSE HUMAN BEING THAN ME. EXPLAIN THAT.
@UltimaShadow7
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, I think Rainbow Dash has a plane toy.
*flashing back to Thomas the Tank Engine*
ReplyDelete*kind of wants*
I'M GOIN' OFF THE RAILS ON A PONY TRAAIN!!
ReplyDeleteThe website is Chinese, so I can only assume they will be released in China very soon. Pinkie already has a car, I don't see why she needs a train.
ReplyDeleteOn a completely unrelated note, apparently they are selling FiM figures for about .75 cents each. O.o
D: santa madre, Pinkie al mando de un tren
ReplyDeletey rosa.. eso no va a terminar bien ..
DVD.. espero al 2012 al box completo :V
¡¡DIOS SANTO!! ¿¡Que hermosura es esta que veo?!
ReplyDeleteThat DVD is for the Mexican market, that how the logo looks like in Mexico at least.
As a matter of fact I am going to Mixup (CD/DVD Store) today If I find it I will gladly post pictures.
That Rainbow Dash plane toy is from last gen. She was not a pegasus then and needed the plane to fly. Apparently she crashed it, woke up with the wings permanently embedded in her back leaving her capable of supersonic flight, had one cloud mutilated off of her cutie mark, leaving a jagged looking lightning shaped rainbow left extending from the remaining cloud, and hit her head so hard, that it completely changed her personality from girly girl to awesome cool and athletic minded, by at least 20%.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's how Rainbow Dash was made!
Why does the photo of Pinkie in the train include the text "Product shown in fantasy situation"? Does the train not really come with a living, breathing Pinkie Pietini behind the throttle?
ReplyDeleteThat'd never pass safety inspections.
You're all missing the point of the DVD cover: Celestia isn't pink AND APPLEJACK HAS HER HAT.
ReplyDeleteWell, I cant say where are they from, but, I can say, Yes its Spanish, but since the show name both and Latin America and Spain are the same no one can know, but I think its Spanish, im from Venezuela and i havent see nothing related to FiM here.
ReplyDelete@KShrike
ReplyDeleteWell, you *are* older than three, aren't you? LOL
And then Christmas Trees everywhere were surrounded by horse-driven trains.
ReplyDeleteSo... Pinkie's running a train on Twilight?...
ReplyDeleteProceed.
@AnonymousEver stop to think that some of us don't have/care about Blu-Ray Players and WANT DVDs?
ReplyDeleteHumm... Well it's not difficult to put two and two together here. The DVD corresponds to the fact the latin american intro has already been made and is up online for everyone to see. So yeah, probably going to be a single episode release bundled with some crazy toy combo.
ReplyDeleteBut why the last episode? Even for selling-junk-to-kids standards, that is pretty out of context...
I speak spanish, the top right says, "The Gala" At the top left it says "friendship is magic" Obviously. And the Bottom left says "Ages 3+" Obviously again.
ReplyDelete@LordOfTheWrongs
ReplyDelete"So... Pinkie's running a train on Twilight?..."
How can it be so, LordOfTheWrongs, when it's oh so right!
The car behind the engine is a GODDAM ICE CREAM CONE. Do the people who make the toys even watch the show?
ReplyDeleteTwilight Blind Bag and the first sampler of how our dub will be!?
ReplyDelete¡MI CUERPO NO ESTA LISTO!
Aaaah~ I can't believe I'm going to buy this >w<
I CHOO-CHOOSE that train for XMAS! Hasbro is starting to come around.
ReplyDeletePfff, the dvd says the grand gala, I'm thinking that it would be the last episode, but why it will be?
ReplyDeletePony Express is the F40PH of Ponyville!
ReplyDeleteI saw the DVD at Target yesterday... It's $10 and has two episodes on it.
ReplyDelete@Purple Tinker
ReplyDeleteSpanish ;)
Ridin' that train
ReplyDeleteHigh on cocaine
Pinkie Pie you better
Watch your speed
oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!!
ReplyDeleteI just hope for mexican spanish DVD :3
@ Bunnyfriend
cabronies?? lol xD
The DVD's at Target. In the toy place. It's only got 2 episodes, "The Ticket Master" and "Suited for Success". Its with a whole bunch of toys themed with it. You can't miss it. Hovering above the display is a giant Princess Celestia. Oh, and it's only at Target in the "Canterlot" collection.
ReplyDelete
