(Image header unrelated. I just find it fabulously hilarious. =D [Also, go Red Wings!])
Senn555, the brony who started the official MLP:FiM soundtrack petition, has updated me on his plans to pass it forward to those who'd have both the resources and the most likely potential interest to actually bring it into glorious existence. As Chief Passer-Alonger, I couldn't help but assist. All of his info & suggestions to help out can be found after the break!
First off, the four companies that could take a viable interest in producing an official FiM soundtrack are Shout! Factory, Rhino Entertainment, Intrada Records, and La-La Land Records. Below are their websites (if ponies wish to learn about the companies and possibly even talk up a possible soundtrack release at their forums [please, don't spam!]):
Shout! Factory
Rhino Entertainment
Intrada Records
La-La Land Records
Hasbro will likewise be notified, especially in the event of any official feedback from the companies in question. Also, e-mails could similarly generate additional interest - or at least awareness - and should be directed to the following addresses:
info@shoutfactory.com
drrhino@rhino.com
intrada@intrada.com
info@lalaland-ent.com
Finally, if a pony hasn't yet signed the petition, a pony can certainly do so here:
Soundtrack CD release for MLP:FiM (petition)
(Yeah, it's linked above, too. Deal with it. B-] Also, parentheticals are matchless fun~)
Senn would like to thank you all for your support in this endeavor. With skill, vigilance, and a little luck, these efforts could go a fair way toward securing an official soundtrack release! Ponies have already brought about so many other wondrous things; for you guys and gals, sparking a CD release would be far from impossible indeed. ^.^
Love you all, pony fans! Tek out.

Interesting...
ReplyDeleteI need a soundtrack so badly. I would so love one -goes to sign the petition-
ReplyDeleteThis seems really unnecessary since Daniel Ingram has pretty much confirmed a soundtrack is in the pipeline.
ReplyDeleteWow, a Tek post!
ReplyDeleteSo rare~
Signed!
ReplyDeletejust signed :D
ReplyDeleteits at 3k,
when i get back from school tomorrow...........OH WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
make that when i get up :DDDDDDDD
it better be 8k+
YOU GOT THAT???????????
Daniel Ingram said that there's a legal rpoblem with getting out an official soundtrack, but he's working on it.
ReplyDeleteShout! Factory is probably the best option. I recall they were the ones that produced the SatAM boxset after it was clear there was enough interest for it to be released.
ReplyDeleteAnd when they did the packaging for it, they even commissioned fan artwork to go on the DVD cases and slipcover.
you forgot about us again. Its the start of the LotR trilogy.

Sweet, I was the 3330th signer. Somebody go get 3333!
ReplyDeleteIncoming 10k more sigs.
ReplyDeleteHah, Tek, it seems you're the only one using emoticons here. Not like it was a bad thing or something!
ReplyDelete@Brian
ReplyDeleteIngram did not say a soundtrack was being done - he merely commented that Hasbro was "working on it" and that they set up (or are in the process of) an iTunes store.
Digital downloads, of course, are not good enough. For me. I want to hold a physical CD set in my hands, with glorious liner notes from the composers! ;)
To everyone else: considering how much us bronies have grown over the past several months, I'd like to get 10,000 signatures in total before I send it off again. Get to it! Spread the word! Much love, bronies. =)

ReplyDeleteThe fact that there isn't already an official soundtrack out already is baffling! Don't they realize how many people would buy that?

ReplyDelete@Senn555
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but those ideas are outdated and most companies (especially a company that is in it solely for the money like Hasbro) are not going to care if a niche audience doesn't have access to their precious discs.
Please don't let Rhino get hold of this. Their handling of Tansformers was pitiful at best.
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled if Shout Factory did it though, they're awesome, and more importantly they know how to respect the source material.
@Brian
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to check out the links to Intrada and La-La Land above? They're still pressing and releasing CDs, as are Varese Sarabande and numerous other soundtrack record labels I know. CDs may not be as popular as downloads are now, but they're still selling enough units to make the labels a profit, and I don't see the format dying out for at least a few years yet.
@TickleMeFrosty
ReplyDeleteI need one as well, so much. Thanks for signing, Frosty! =D
@Grez
Indeed! Though this won't be the only Tek post today...
@TenchiFreak5
Yep, and the SatAM DVD box set is some kind of amazing. *nods* Glad they put it out so I could purchase it.
@u3210
Fun fact: I'm older than the three blogponies. =3 I was proliferating smilies back in 1998, before Seth had discovered the magic of friendship - and before Cereal was even born. *refuses to speak falsities about Phoe 'cause she actually treats me with respect and cordiality*
...go Hawks...
ReplyDeleteAre you from Detroit, Tek?
ALL OF MY WANT. i signed
ReplyDelete@AtomicBrony
ReplyDeleteI am. I live in West Virginia now, but I grew up in Detroit. *nods*
@Tekaramity
ReplyDelete...go Wings then. :D
ALL OF MY SIGNATURES
ReplyDelete@Senn555
ReplyDeletePetition signed! *Rainbow Dash salute*
Signed. It would be great to have the whole OST ^^
ReplyDeletesigned, but too lazy to e-mail
ReplyDeleteWhen I'd first realized how old the show was, I was kind of suprised at the lack of a soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteI have the songs favorited on Youtube, but if a cd is released, I'd have to have it. It'd be my only brony memorabilia, and my most prized, so I might be interested in supporting this...
Haha I signed this a looong while ago. 2069 to be exact XD
ReplyDeleteSigned. Lets hope we can reach the 10k mark soon.
ReplyDeleteSteven Magnet makes anything more fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Go DEVILS!
Sorry, I didn't catch any of that. I was too busy having my heart ripped out. How could you, Tek? The RED WINGS?!
ReplyDeleteFirst that EHL fic puts all the best ponies on Manehattan's team, and now I find out that one of the blog boys is a Wings fan. It's a cruel, cruel world for those of us NHL fans with a modicum of decency.
@Chris
ReplyDeleteI have a modicum of decency. Love and friendship, brony. =)
@Tekaramity
ReplyDelete*rolls eyes* Fine, take the high road. But if I find out that Sethisto roots for the Dallas No-Longer-My-Northstars, I'm quitting this fandom... FOREVERRRR! :)
Go Wild!
@Chris
ReplyDeleteSeth lives in Arizona but doesn't care about the Coyotes (or any other NHL team).
Also, I've always wanted to visit the Xcel Energy Center. If I ever do, I'll be in touch. Brony meetup at a Wings/Wild game? I'd totally coordinate that!
*lives in Dallas* o hai
ReplyDelete@Brian
ReplyDeleteEver been in an FYE? There is usually an entire section of shelf space (sometimes in a completely different part of the store than the "normal" music CDs, depending on how big the store is) completely packed with OSTs.
That image is completely related because it's the city where MLP is produced: Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteIt is also the city where Daniel Ingram does his work.
It is also the city I'm living in at the moment.
Lets go Red Wings!
ReplyDeleteAlmost every big-chain music store and/or bookstore (think B&N) has a soundtracks section. Some have more selection than others.
ReplyDeleteAs a music-related brony, I signed the petition... and I rarely EVER do that. So yeah, this was important enough to be an exception.
I went to go sign the petition... apparently I already did that, as one of the first 500 or so.
ReplyDeleteWere it not fraudulent, I would totally sign a second time, just because it's that awesome.
@Tekaramity
ReplyDeleteBrony hockey night? I can get behind that!
And Xcel is amazing-great sightlines, comfortable chairs, not too many bottlenecks, and a full crowd of enthusiastic fans every night. I haven't been to too many different rinks, but Xcel's the best that I've had the pleasure of going to.
Now we just need to start winning some games...
Number 3939.
ReplyDeleteHasbro, SHUT UP and take my money!
Equestria Pride World Wide.
I saw, I signed, I felt happy.
ReplyDeleteSigned!
ReplyDeleteNow to make two thousand email accounts to get the numbers we need-oops! I just plotted publicly, my bad.
Signed, and the comment took EVERY. LAST. LETTER.
ReplyDeleteNow here is a petition i can stand behind.
ReplyDelete~sign~
I'm sure we can make the header related in some way... Let's see:
ReplyDelete'We need an official MLP soundtrack? It's soo trueee!'
Nice to see Tek!
ReplyDelete<333
Totally sign'd!
ReplyDelete#4286
just signed, now at 4381 sigs
ReplyDeleteSigned, too.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible to push this to the front page to keep this petition alive or something like that?
