I'd be much more willing to listen about all the stupid stuff that our government is doing (bickering over raising the debt limit, which in turn looks to be helping get a world wide recession going into high gear), if it was presented in such an amusing manner.
Also, I want the power to summon rainbows that can stop pesky, irritating people.
Hey, I know this news station. Never expected them to make a report on bronies, although it does fit their style. It's the same accurate but oddly presented stuff they usually make.
I love these guys. They covered the story that the British prime minister was beating people up at Westminster a while back. All news should be like this.
Oh my God I... Why is this so strangely awesome...? And hey, I remember these guys from when they did an episode on Song of Ice and Fire... it was equally awesome.
Also I don't really think this is from China, the Chinese subtitles were written in traditional Chinese characters, implying these guys are either from Taiwan or Hong Kong, the prior seems more likely because of certain words used.
But anyway... I had NO idea that people in Asia are this... knowledgeable about the internet... Most of my Asian friends seem pretty oblivious about most of the internet happenings, with the majority of them not even knowing what 4chan is... This was... enlightening to watch, to say the least.
To the uninformed. Nmatv is from taiwan. Do you really think the chinese government would ever allow the love and tolerance of ponies to cross into their borders?
At first, I was excited but then I realized that these guys do news reports about everything. They even did one about Conan O'Brien getting a new show and did a response when Conan made his own video. Still very awesome though, Probably the best sum up of the Brony war that I've ever seen and A shout out to this place.
We haven't actually left /b/ completely. There is still one "never-ending" pony thread on /b/ that is generally quite active and gets recreated as soon as it hits the image limit, much to the annoyance of many of the locals.
@Rubidia Excuse me? I'm from Singapore and the eight-year-olds all the way to fifteen-year-olds are quite aware of the Internet, including trolling and YouTube stars. I of course am aware of /b/, /4chan/, trolls and Forever Alone guys.
Man, I love these guys. Knowyourmeme is generally pretty accurate and funny, but these guys take it to the next level and give you the lowdown and information that really counts!
A few days ago I was thinking of trying to draw a series of images where gloomy sad internet lurkers find ponies and they turn into happy bright people with rainbows and all.
Well, they did it for me and in a lot better way than I could ever deliver it :)
Kshrike: they made some of the animation OTT "effeminate", not the same as "gay". I mean, the brony rides off with a girl on a frickin rainbow bike at the end. I think they struck a good balance of ironical mocking:
a: intelligent viewers will get that its a joke, and bronies will be able to laugh at themselves (yeah yeah, we like a cartoon for little girls, get over it)
b: "hurr durr ponies are for fags" haters will assume the worst anyway so that won't change
c: real bronies are man enough to accept gay/lesbian bronies
Rainbow Dash is cool whether she's gay or straight. (personally I reckon she's too awesome to stick to only one sexual preference)
@Stephen Cawking I read somewhere that they have a day to produce things that would normally be done in a week as it is a news show, hence the discrepancy between the potential and the product
Their fairytale representation of the Bronynet with us dancing to cartoon sound effects was more accurate than the atomic clock. I'm glad that they put emphasis upon the fact that most people came to this fanbase not just because they were fans of the show, but largely because they're sick and tired of all the antagonistic rubbish that defines the 4Chan ideologue.
Y'know, I remember undergoing some sort of transformation when I officially became a brony, but I think it involved less rainbows and more screaming in agony as my bone structure shifted and my brain was forcefully rewired. Other than that, one of the more accurate news reports on bronies. Props to NMAtv.
Uh, no. 'Otaku' does don't just mean 'fan of something' in Japanese. It means a freaky, overly obsessed fan of something. Most of the time, it has fairly negative connotations.
I didn't get a creepy vibe off that at all. Just looked like he was watching the show with his daughter. Or, that they were just showing the intended audience and the older male Brony both enjoying the show.
How can all of you people think this is China? This is a Taiwanese news report; China can't access sites like 4chan. Your knowledge of the world and obliviousness to culture disappoints me.
Not creepy in the least. Don't forget, some of us bronies got converted the way Lauren Faust intended; dads watching the show with their kids and finding it to be SO AWESOME.
Guys, watch the English version. Apparently the translator thinks that we are "brawnies" who created our own "internet High Qualities" to get away from the /b/tards
(and btw the Fox Red Eye report was positive about us, god I need to get that off my chest being someone on the right and a brony. Yes, there are conservative bronies.)
The "Haters gon' hate" is more literally translated "certainly not everyone is going to love Ponies". The language is not Cantonese, but Taiwan dialect Mandarin. They said "大家" meaning "everyone"; no special word for "everypony".

ReplyDeleteThat was a glorious representation of the brony history.
ReplyDeleteVery...Odd but I guess it's positive about the fanbase? I think?

ReplyDeleteThe hay was that? Still awesome though.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I`d like to add my 2 cents in here, I am at a loss for words... Mind=blown o_0
ReplyDeleteWatch their take on Operation Payback, too. It's epic.
ReplyDelete@Rubidia
ReplyDeleteYeah, these guys are from Taiwan.
I can't believe NMA did a brony report. That's just so amazingly wonderful... I... I just don't even know what to say.
ReplyDeleteTo the uninformed. Nmatv is from taiwan. Do you really think the chinese government would ever allow the love and tolerance of ponies to cross into their borders?
ReplyDeleteOooooookay... Rainbow Dash the biker chick was... like, Sonic Rainboom levels of awesome.
ReplyDeleteWell.
ReplyDeleteHow can my day not be awesome after seeing that?
I should watch this again just so I can learn how to say 'Haters gonna hate' in Cantonese.
ReplyDeleteCocaine is one hell of a drug!
ReplyDeleteWorld needs more Asian bronies.

ReplyDeleteThis... worries me. On a deep and personal level.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me while I curl up with a Rainbow Dash plushie and hide.
oh gawd....just ohhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Wow, I prance around effeminately all the time. They got me on that one.
ReplyDeletePretty funny how accurate this is - they do know their stuff unlike other "News" companies
ReplyDeleteThis is so incredibly silly.
ReplyDeleteI freaking love it, X3
Wait, did they just say the word "Everypony"?!
ReplyDeleteThese guys really did their research.
My favorite news story of the year!
ReplyDeleteI lost when he got forever aloned

meanwhile in the uncanny valley....
ReplyDeleteugh, they referred to us as “å®…ç”·”, which translates to otaku.
ReplyDeleteMan, I love these guys. Knowyourmeme is generally pretty accurate and funny, but these guys take it to the next level and give you the lowdown and information that really counts!
ReplyDeleteI always imagined that when I became a brony I shot rainbows out of my head and arms.
ReplyDeleteBut until now I had trouble visualizing it...
A few days ago I was thinking of trying to draw a series of images where gloomy sad internet lurkers find ponies and they turn into happy bright people with rainbows and all.
ReplyDeleteWell, they did it for me and in a lot better way than I could ever deliver it :)
Bronies. Rock on !!!
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteOtaku seems pretty apt to me.
That was a beautiful video.
lol amazing !
ReplyDeleteYES! So in the end of each of these there are two ladies. The Asian one is a brony and it's totally my fault. She's the one who wrote this. ^^
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love the human Rainbow Dash on the motorcycle. I laughed hard.
ReplyDeleteAlthough that was really weird, I as a brony approve of this.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't like Fox News or Gamepro at all!
WHY THE FUCK DO NON-AMERICAN MEDIA ACTUALLY GET IT??!?!? America, Is it that hard?
Eqd? on something not eqd?
ReplyDeleteThey portrayed us as gay, though...
ReplyDeleteI don't like it...
My reaction :
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwIETDPZsTA
@Rubidia
ReplyDeleteJapan and Korea would like a word with you.
Dunno why equestria daily is there when this website is run by a fucktard ruining the brony image
ReplyDeleteKshrike: they made some of the animation OTT "effeminate", not the same as "gay". I mean, the brony rides off with a girl on a frickin rainbow bike at the end. I think they struck a good balance of ironical mocking:

I like the humanized Dash on the motorcycle.
ReplyDeleteGlorious
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes!
ReplyDelete-M. Bison
Yup, that pretty much covered it.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS THE BEST THING
ReplyDeleteHOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteWe NEED these guys working on a full-length 3D pony adaptation of one of the best fanfics on this site or something...
Poor troll, he got turned into rainbows.
ReplyDeleteFOREVER ARONE
ReplyDeleteThat. Was. Amazing.
ReplyDelete@Not A Good Username 360
ReplyDeleteNo.
everything was awesome about that up until the brony sitting next ot the little girl, creepy metre over 9000 and not accurate.
ReplyDeleteLol. We're so gay XD
ReplyDeleteChina I love you so much!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, a bit of ribbing but generally positive.
ReplyDeleteNow, why was I not told that we all wear knee-high leather boots?!
yea, they got a lot of information wrong (mostly the fact /co/ wasn't even mentioned), but funny nonetheless
ReplyDeleteits sooo truuuue! 'yay'
ReplyDelete...and then I said "Taiwan, are you crazy!"
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh this looks like the Xavier Renegade Angel animations and sound effects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete@Stephen Cawking
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that they have a day to produce things that would normally be done in a week as it is a news show, hence the discrepancy between the potential and the product
Hehehe. That was pretty cool. Don't know why the bronies were fruity, but this was a pretty unbiased, frank report.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. Loved the dancing around /b/ by the way.
...Hehe... Swamps of 4chan...
What did I just watch? o.0
ReplyDeleteThat... was actually pretty accurate, 'cept fer the prancin' 'bout.

ReplyDeleteWow. This makes all of us look....SO SUPER GAY
ReplyDeleteWot!
ReplyDeleteI could translate this!
ReplyDelete:o
wierd and stupid....
ReplyDeleteThese things are starting to grow on me...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteotaku just means regular fan of something in japanese (and I guess the ussage is the same on the rest of asia)
just outside japan otaku = fan of anime
so in that regard I don't see how we are not otakus under an asian look (news whatever)
@Namefag Anon
ReplyDeletethey got it wrong and STILL managed to be more accurate than fox news
I say that is good
They have it in English here
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcjhG4PQpaE
......................................................lolwut? No, seriously, wat?
ReplyDeleteAttention, CNN, Fox News, and everyone else: take notes. This is how news is supposed to be.
Neat video. But it is a misleading video. Lots of bronies are still horrendous trolls. :P
ReplyDeleteY'know, I remember undergoing some sort of transformation when I officially became a brony, but I think it involved less rainbows and more screaming in agony as my bone structure shifted and my brain was forcefully rewired. I love NMA TV- especially when they do things on internet culture. I couldn't stop laughing when the /b/tard became forever alone guy.
ReplyDeletePretty good.
ReplyDeleteha. what.
ReplyDeletelolwut?
ReplyDeleteLol, I watched the english version of this. "My Little Pony attracts brawny fans."
ReplyDeleteI lol'd. Hard.
ReplyDelete..whatthehaydidIjustwatch~
ReplyDeleteBahahah!! That was hilarious. And while yes, it wasn't *100%* accurate it was by far the most accurate report on bronies so far!
ReplyDeleteAnd obviously they have to poke fun at us too - but it's definitely not mean-spirited.
so why is there Chinese? video about /b/ n so on...
ReplyDelete>Laughing at the intro
ReplyDelete>Running like little girls
Guys, watch the English version. Apparently the translator thinks that we are "brawnies" who created our own "internet High Qualities" to get away from the /b/tards
ReplyDeleteWow, the boys in the video act so gay. The boots alone send a chill up my spine.
ReplyDelete:D I can understand the language
ReplyDeleteThey said "Haters are gonna hate" rofl
ReplyDeleteWell ... better than MSNBC's reporting.
ReplyDelete(and btw the Fox Red Eye report was positive about us, god I need to get that off my chest being someone on the right and a brony. Yes, there are conservative bronies.)
@keneticpest
ReplyDeleteThis was made in Taiwan...
oH GOD,
ReplyDeletethe frolicking
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWell you could say theyre correct, considering Taiwan is the Republic of China.
Awesome video. Makes total sense!
