Wow, this is excellent. Professional, catchy (especially Rainbow Dash Road), and memorable (HUUUGEly important.) It really gives a sense of feel and place.
I'd say at 1:50 the background strings (the fast changing ones) need to stop for a while, they start to wear. Great up until that point, though.
Love the Everfree Forest voices. I'd like to see a drum strike in there somewhere with a deeper thum.
Like where the caves are going. Maybe have the orchestral hits cut after a few strikes and have a haunting section, and then step the intensity (and orchestral hits back up) again? Some very high-register strings (like the pitch "sparkle sounds" often are) with low strings holding their note.
First one just left me disappointed. Just didn't sound as epic as the original Rainbow Road soundtracks, and I expected this to be even better than them, so it was kind of a let down, sorry.
Then again, all Rainbow Roads pale in comparison to Double Dash.
THUS, WE NEED DOUBLE RAINBOW DASH ROAD THEME.
That second one was amazing in terms of the emotions it meant to invoke. But I agree with Psalm Of Fire, needs a deeper timbre to the drums among the tribal voices with Everfree.
And Mines sound even more ominous than the Luigi's Mansion track from MK:DS, and that is a good thing. Loving it.
Rainbow Road gets tougher with every single game. Every. Single. Time. But I can deal with it if I get to listen to that song. The others are good too, don't get me wrong, but dammit, that first one had Dash's part from "At the Gala."
I liked Rainbow Dash Road! It sounds like something that would be in a MLP racing game. And also, did anyone else hear some part that was a bit reminiscent to Mariokart 64's Rainbow Road music?
I did much like the pieces, but I hear very little of the Mario Kart style of its forebear; whether that is a good or bad thing, I do not know. I will say that I was expecting something a bit closer to the Soyo Oka original Rainbow Road, and I agree with some posters above that the version here as shown is a bit underwhelming. The "audio sketches", though, have a lot of character and do make me excited for this project.

ReplyDeleteScrew first. Rainbow Dash Road is awesome.
ReplyDeleteSweet music dude.

Nice. Heard a bit of Dash's "At the Gala" segment in there.
ReplyDeleteeh, RD Road was okay...I liked the menu music a lot though!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say this. I really do...
ReplyDeleteBut I think the music might be a little TOO epic!
The lead synth in Rainbow Dash Road seemed a bit weak to me. It was a good track otherwise, just felt...20% less epic than I was expecting.
ReplyDeleteEverything in the second video is STUPENDOUS, though!
Pretty cool music. I hope the game is just as good.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to play this. If it's anything like the music, it will be great.
ReplyDeleteThe first one was nice, and I like it that it also included Rainbow Dash´s instrumental part of At The Gala.
ReplyDeleteThe second one was SO AWESOME /)^3^(\

ReplyDeleteSounds good to me :3. And lol at Vinyl can't handle her Dubtrot XD

ReplyDeleteThe second one was VERY awesome IMO.
Anyone else reminded really strongly of the Jak 3 driving soundtrack? It's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's rainbow dash road. It's where you go when you die. It's rainbow dash roaaaaaad. I'll miss you again.
ReplyDeleteFirst one was underwhelming.

1. ah, do I pick up the beat from RD's part in the At The Gala song? nice
ReplyDelete2. nice menu music as well
damn, this got me pretty hyped for the game. looking forward to this almost as much as Fighting Is Magic
Those are two of the most amazing things I have ever heard.
ReplyDeleteThis game is going to be epic.
Moar high pitch tutututu's

ReplyDeleteThere is going to be a Kart Racer game? HOLYYY PONIES! I must play that!
ReplyDeleteI liked Rainbow Dash Road! It sounds like something that would be in a MLP racing game. And also, did anyone else hear some part that was a bit reminiscent to Mariokart 64's Rainbow Road music?
ReplyDeleteBoth vÃdeos are amazing!! Thx for your effort.
ReplyDeleteThese are just too cool!
ReplyDeleteLittle bit of gears of war for the mines part?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this to be released as an album. It's gonna be so full of awesome.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.
ReplyDeleteI did much like the pieces, but I hear very little of the Mario Kart style of its forebear; whether that is a good or bad thing, I do not know. ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or does the Rainbow Dash Road track have a slight feel of the Top Gear theme to it?
ReplyDeleteBTW, freaking awesome!
The Pony Kart music always sounds good, but is that game still being made? All that seems to turn up about it is new music about once a week.
ReplyDeleteMy god these are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAll of these are awesome. Particularly like the menu theme, but I'm also psyched about Everfree. And kudos on including Rainbow Dash's Gala solo.
ReplyDeleteWow.. The Mines theme sounds a TON like the fourth menu theme from Portal 2! It's.. Here take a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huu3MjGICzQ
