A new promo video has been released for Equestria Online, demoing some of the environments and details being added to the game.
They are looking for help fleshing out their team a bit, primarily with modelers and programmers. If you think you have what it takes, send an email to admin@equestriaonline.com.
You can also hit up their new facebook page here!
The video is after the break.

ReplyDeleteThis is the most epic video I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteLOLWTF already beats world of warcraft
ReplyDeleteThat, actually, looked quite beautiful for a fan-made mmo. Great job so far by the team!
ReplyDeleteI think we just overloaded their site. O.o
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope to see this soon, though it does need some work. I bet with the first release, tons of bronies are gonna pop up with ideas on how to improve it and even start modding (hopefully not in a bad way).
This is gonna be epic
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteeverything beats WoW.
This is looking like it could get as good as or better than second life.
Link sends me to a weird redirect.
ReplyDeleteaslong as they have some kind of jobs system along with the beautiful environments IM IN!
ReplyDeleteI really hope that they eventually add some sort of turning animations. MMOs don't usually have them from what I've seen, but on a 4-legged thing it looks far more unnatural than simply on a 2-legged thing, where it looks like they're just turning on their heel or something.

ReplyDeleteI CAME RAINBOOMS.
ReplyDeleteGAH! we will not be intimidated by your fancy 3D stuff!!!! *gallops around in a panic* Our 2D mmo will also be good! our engine is close to testing!
ReplyDeleteDo want.
ReplyDelete@Paul
ReplyDeleteespecially since blizzard keeps watering down the game in every patch
trying to cover it up with a new dungeon or something
@frostedWarlock
ReplyDeleteIt would also probably be much harder to create; many joints that weren't shown in the demo would have to move in percise amounts determined by the angle of the turn.
sweeeeeeeet. And I also think we broke another site =/
ReplyDeleteThat pony with the goggles. Oh, god, yesssssss.
ReplyDeleteI want to play this.
And here's me wanting to help make music for this game when I'm already working in My Little Musical AND trying to flesh out my own MLP-related game.
ReplyDeleteI'm either crazy or a Level 3 Brony.
Too bad we overloaded their servers. XD
For 2 months of work this is very impressive, and we can only imagine the behind-the-scenes stuff that's been going on while the pretty stuff's been worked on.
ReplyDeleteThis is a genius idea, I'm glad someone finally got around to making one of these. Great work, guys!
ReplyDelete*manly squee*
ReplyDeleteI love this video and all, but the beginning music reminded me of Reading Rainbow.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThey don't water it down by adding new dungeons. They add new dungeons to keep people playing. The way they have watered it down is by raid content and nerfing things.
@Paul
ReplyDeleteIf everything beats WoW how is it still the most subscribed to game and still around today? Clearly if everything else were better people would have moved on instead of playing it.
Also this looks amazing. Can't wait to see how much better it gets in two more months.
ReplyDeleteI will gladly host. Or beta test this when time comes.
ReplyDelete@Pinkietastic
ReplyDeleteBecause of its addicting nature, also because of the social aspects.
It reminds me of the earliest demos for Everquest. If this is all they have done in 2 months, by the end of the year this will be on the same level of Morrowind.
ReplyDeleteI hope castle hair is unlockable lol
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will ever stop being blown away by how much amazing shit this community is turning out. There are so many amazingly talented people flocking to this, and cooperating just for the hell of making great things. Bronies, you have all restored my faith in the internet.
ReplyDeleteLooks kind of glide-y.
ReplyDeletebrought tears to my eyes best mmo i have ever seen
ReplyDelete@James. God I hope so. But I doubt we can make it look THAT good. Also, I was there when the Castle hair pony began.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.
ReplyDeleteThis is looking amazingly awesome! I'm so playing this when it comes out. I will fucking buy it if I have to.
Looking decent so far. Keep up the good work on it guys.
ReplyDeletethat first bit reminds me of spore. Anyone else play that?
ReplyDeleteConstructive criticism:
ReplyDelete>The legs move too slowly: makes the pony look like they're gliding across the ground.
>The environment must be AS realistic as the show, not more or less. The background plants at the beginning were overly ornate (unless those were for the everfree, I guess...) Then the buildings, which ought to be ornate, seem very lacking ATM)
Good luck to this team! I wish I had time to participate.
Why is the ground so bland >:S?
ReplyDeleteI can already imagine ponies with afros clogging up the Sugar cube corner
ReplyDeleteITS STILL JUST A DEMO
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to become a game designer. Just to make things like this.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased
ReplyDeleteOmg I just LOVE seeing updates from these guys
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that this is THE greatest fanbased creation ive ever seen
Although i do hope that the barn colours dont stay solid since it doesnt blend with the grass but thats what WIP if for right?
@James Corck
ReplyDeleteOh my. If they are able to get the game up to the same atmospheric quality as Morrowind, I will be one happy filly. You could literally *feel* the magic of that world when in it, I really hope the magic of Equestria comes through in this.
Sweet Apple Acres looks, well... SWEET. That's what really leapt out at me from that vid.
ReplyDeleteMake Physic like GTA IV, than we can make Crash Movies with Pegasus Ponies =D
ReplyDeleteSecretly?
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that usually require it to be, ya know, 'a secret'?
Eh...I'm not really impressed. A lot of things look awkward and things aren't that amazingly designed. Needs more shading and better anatomy. The pony models also move too slowly. Everything just looks crappy. They need to put more work and effort into this game.
