ReplyDeleteI think it's cute. I can see where some find the voice a bit off, overly-done or even annoying. But I must admit, some of the lines they used were kinda funny and/or cute. :) Also, Derpy just Rick Roll'd us.

ReplyDeleteThis is the best yet. The voice is smoother and a bit less... dare I say, grating, than some other Derpy voices I've heard before. I like it very much. X3 Now if only we could get the show crew to hire this girl to be the actual voice in the show!

bleh. that voice is just so... idk what but I don't like it. Way to "young" I guess? sounds like a particularly well spoken 12 year old, and just comes off reeeaaaally childish. IMHO!

ReplyDeleteI must applaud the author for putting herself out there. I for one truly enjoy the interpretation of the character, and feel that it does make a lot of people smile. The "neigh-sayers" can either go put out a better interpretation and prove their point or they can go suck a carrot. Bravo, BDR. Bravo.

ReplyDeleteThe Story of the Blanks sprites look cool. The thing I find scary is that every time I try to make a OC pony, It ends up looking like the one on the left. Am I zombie pony? I kept getting that feeling.

You know, I was originally against this VA as Derpy, and she's still certainly not my TOP choice, but I have to admit... she kinda grows on you.

ReplyDeleteI think that the quality of the voice acting is also dependent, by some portion, on the writing quality of the lines she's given in the requests. So far, I've found the "Derpy Bubbles" commercial spot to be a lot more believable than some of the other lines, for example. And yeah, I chalk that up to good writing as well as a decent voice.
