OH MY GAWWWWD!!! Mr.Ingram, you spoil me with your voice, I am not worthy.
Heh, naw in all seriousness thanks Daniel, always great to see the team engaged in the fandom even through little things like this. You have my respect and I'm sure the respect of all the bronies out there, keep on keepin' on.
And do try to show up to a brony meetup at least once? Make it a surprise :D
@Anonymous Why, exactly? They're not being forced into it and surely they're at least somewhat aware of the level of fanaticism about the fanbase. Think what you will, but I'm pretty sure people in showbiz on average enjoy being surrounded by legions of fans rather than going completely disregarded. I guess we'll see when BroNYcon comes around, though.
@BronyMike The second worst thing I can see happening is that people will feel entitled to give Mr. Thiessen their stupid suggestions or request to have their shit OCs inserted into the show. The worst thing I can see happening is that he'll listen to them.
@Anonymous Which they won't because the fans aren't idiots and he won't because he's not a GIANT idiot. There's a reason showrunners don't take fan suggestions very often, and that's because the creators of those OCs would have at least partial copyrights on those characters and could sue for royalties.
Broader concepts, like Derpy being the mailmare, may actually be put in because they're more minor, they're based on established characters, and their origins are harder to pinpoint. I hate pessimistic cynicism like this. The fans and creators universally don't want the show to go downhill, and people will use common sense on both sides when deciding what to say to the show's crew and what the crew will put into the show. We've heard it from a bunch of internal sources, season 2's looking AWESOME, and I'm confident we can trust their judgement.
I love how the production crew loves us just as much as we love them! It's some added pressure to do the job well, but really--I can imagine the huge outpouring of genuine thanks from fans makes it all well worth it.
Wow you guys spend your weekends like shit. I am usually doing about 40 over the speed limit in Volkswagen down the wrong lane on country road screaming fuck the world as I fly through every turn with perfection. I am like the Takumi Fujiwara of my city nigga.
@Anonymous For the entire weekend straight? Doesn't sound all that fun. You must spend a ton on gas and your car's resale value must be pretty far down due to the mileage.

ReplyDeleteI saw this in Bejoty's post in the comments for Northwest Bronyfest. Danny really is such an awesome guy.
He seemed kinda nervous, but that's understandable, considering how important he is to the community.
ReplyDeleteI'd gladly shake his hand if I had the opportunity.
Whoa, I always thought he was like 35. Guy looked like he was 20 in that video
ReplyDelete@Anonymous Oh wow. Wikipedia says he's 35-36. He looks way younger than that.

@BronyMike
ReplyDeletemaybe, but I have seen a lot of dumb suggestions being posed even on here in the Q&A threads addressed toward the show staff.
Maybe I am being pessimistic, but I keep getting the feeling that this fanbase is way too "comfortable".
Oh wow. Mr. Ingram is a seriously awesome. :D

This fandom is amazing. :D
Northwest Bronyfest will without a doubt be cemented as the best weekend of the last few years for me. Everyone there was awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt truly was the Best Night EVER!
they are cooking hotdogs!!! i thought they were vegetarians!!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous In the original description of the image, the creator was adamant about how they're veggie burgers.
