• Custom Pony Compilation #9

    Source / Ebay
    Some day, a cheap and efficient way to create show accurate ponies will appear.  This could be in 10 years, or perhaps 20 years... But until that time comes, we have custom artists on Deviant Art doing the world a service and busting these things out left and right!

    Have some customs! (After the break)

    G 3.5 nightmare fuel that actually works? Amazing... They do still look kind of like suffocating fish though!

    1. Dawwww, if I had any artistic ability at all I would be making these non-stop. That fluttershy is just so, I just can't put it into words. I'm gunna make up a new word to describe it. Fluttershyerific. Yes, that custom fluttershy is fluttershyerific.

      Also, I'm loving the no anons.

    5. Just buy a 3D printer and print all the ponies you like.

      No, Seriously there is such a thing.

      3D Printers are expensive as heck. Especially a good one. I could buy a new car for the price of one. lol

      Cheaper just to buy an airbrush and learn how to use that. ;)

    7. That Nightmare Moon went for over $200 on Ebay a few days ago. I wanted it sooo bad.

      If you know how to use a 3d modeling program like 3ds Max or Maya (or have a friend who does), you can always use Shapeways.

      I s'pose that's also a possibility. I just use an airbrush. Seems easier. lol

      Thanks! I'm really happy with how she came out!
      @Octavia
      Well I'll definitely be making more of Scratch, so keep an eye on my ebay.
      @Appletini
      I really wanted them to be the right size next the G4 toys but those were the only filly sized ones I could find. I tried shaving down the freaky cheeks but the mouths still look weird.

      If that's the custom NMM I think it is, it ended earlier. Went for a little over $200.

    15. Gah!!! Walmart was selling the gift set for $9 on clearance. I went in and they only had one left. I only have 3 of them now... That means I can make a White Celestia, a Luna, and a Nightmare Moon, but won't have any leftover ones to try selling!

      Maybe next town over still has them.

    16. Interesting trivia... A bald Princess Celestia from the Gift Set has 2 rectangular pegs that stabilize the ends of the mane and tail. One's on the rear left leg, and the other in on the right side of the neck. She also has a deep "Y" shaped furrow on her head that splits on either side of her horn, and trails to a massive wine glass shaped hole in the back of her head...

      Good thing she has that beautiful flowing mane to cover those things up, cause her head sure looks funny without em! Man, you would not believe how bad Celestia looks without her mane and tail! WOW!!!

      (This email was sent from the moon)

      You wouldn't get sent to the moon for fixing the Pinkness.

      I've used shapeways. They're a super company.

      3d models are tough to make though, and getting ponies right takes some doing.

      Yeah, yeah. I'm not doomed to a thousand years, but she'll keep me there till I finish the job, since I blabbed about her frankenpony bolts and partially hollowed out pink mellon! LOL.

    20. I just wish Hasbro would sell REAL decals of all the cutie marks, so that people could apply them to various things... SUCH AS PONIES who are blank flanks on their half flank!

      Has anyone considered producing REAL decals from the vectors? What would this even cost Each decal set could contain several copies of the most common main and background pony cutie marks, in a few different scales, such as Blind Bag, 3 inch, Fashion, and maybe have some extra Suns, Moons, and Nightmare Moon marks sized for the big talking Celestia toy.

      I'd buy a couple sheets of these... If they were available.
