That was hell to install! This on the other hand took 2 seconds.
These themes are as simple as plugging a flash drive in and installing the files in the "theme" section of the ps3.
They are also awesome.
Included you will find specific icon groups, and wallpapers, for the following ponies:
- Twilight Sparkle
- Applejack
- Fluttershy
- Pinkie Pie
- Rarity
- Rainbow Dash
- Derpy Hooves
- Luna
- Cutie Mark Crusaders
(Now we just need about 20% more Great and Powerful Trixie, though my Trixie background does blend well with my Twilight icons~)

Forget a title again Seth?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, looks neat, I'm gonna check this out.
~Dark~
someone derped on the title
ReplyDeleteSoooooo awesome
ReplyDeleteSweet, PS3 themes.
ReplyDeleteMy background will now be filled with 100% more Rainbow Dash.
Yoink! That Applejack theme is mine.
ReplyDeleteI would have jizzm'd if the Modern Warmare 2 poster was available. Still tits though.
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty cool but, sadly, I'm far too in love with my FLCL theme to change it. I know these'll be used by plenty of people though. So, I don't have to feel bad about it.
ReplyDeleteFirst they took my desktop, and then my laptop almost immediately afterward. The iPhone was the next to go. Now, not even my PS3 is safe from these ponies...
ReplyDeleteOooooooooo....
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 10:10
What about a FLCL-Pony crossover theme?
What about Celestia?
ReplyDeleteMakes me almost want to get a PS3.
ReplyDeleteI can't open 7z file, 'cuz there's error: "bad command lines".I Yes. I have 7z program. Did anypony have same problem?
ReplyDeleteThere needs to be a PSP theme. Portable ponies :D
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! CMC on the PS3!

ReplyDeleteThese are awesome!
ReplyDeleteObviously needs an Octavia set as well. :)
ReplyDeleteBut these are pretty fun and cool. Now if only I had a PS3...
I think I suck, just how do I download and open these? It won't let me with any programs I have :(
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm glad someone found a use for that Dashie wallpaper I vectored! =D
ReplyDeleteDamn, didn't think I'd ever be changing that animated Sonic 4 theme I had. It's so awesome and been there so long I thought it'd stay there forever.
ReplyDelete(grumble) Stupid sexy Rainbow Dash, going and making my PS3 20% cooler...(grumble) I still love ya' Sonic, but alas...
Why U No Make 360 theme's?
ReplyDelete>Implying 360 can have themes, beyond the bg image
Please help...i'm desperate and I can't figure it out.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI downloaded a program called 7-Zip and used it to extract the files to a flash drive. Make sure that the ONLY folders the themes are in are PS3/THEME and then plug the flash drive into your PS3. Go to the Themes Setting part (or whatever it's called, memory fails me) and install!
Yeah, but 7-zip isn't working for me for some reason, it won't open anything.
ReplyDeleteIt also has the files I downloaded under notepad. (I'm TERRIBLE with this kind of stuff >_>)
ReplyDeleteBah.. Where's mah Xbox 360 Ponies!?
ReplyDelete@Richiejack1337
ReplyDeleteOh my god... the PSP even has CXMB... hell, we could make an animated one too!
(cxmb is a psp plugin for hacked psps that allow you to install themes the have different xmb aesthetics... such as a "PS3" psp theme... imagine, a Nightmare moon theme with her mane flowing...)
they just had to use the only rarity picture that I hate.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know how I can keep the icons, but replace the image?
i believe at ps3-themes.com you can make your own background and stuff, i usually go there to download themes straight from my ps3 broswer, i swear the ps3 is basicly a fucking computer, sony really shit faced themselves for "restricting" it, they coulda profited from it like with programs and shit but then again it be another ipod scandle,
ReplyDeleteSo could I just download these, icons and all straight from my PS3? Because I really can't figure this out >_>
ReplyDelete@Gypsy
ReplyDeleteThe PS3 "used" to be a computer... ever heard of Other OS? it was an old feature, that allowed you to install Linux
thats what fail0verflow tried bringing back... and they got sued >.>
*Don't mind me, just a simple hacker-brony!*
Man, wish my PS3 hadn't (practically) died.
ReplyDeletePoor Spike.
ReplyDeleteOn another note... does this person know contrast?
ReplyDeletePersonally I would have used Computer Wallpapers as backgrounds... suck as that Luna in socks one.
Im getting a flash drive for the sole purpose of getting a derpy theme....
ReplyDelete*continues moaning about bad luna theme*
ReplyDelete*realizes he can use the PC wallpaper, as the background*
*winning*
ive had pony themes for a while now. somepony should have told me and i could have had them up here months ago!
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me what the properties of the file should be to convert them at least?
ReplyDeleteAre these SD or HD themes?
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I have my PS3 on all the time and this is just what it needed.
ReplyDeleteOh man...the Applejack theme is perfect.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThey are both SD and HD.
@swweet
ReplyDeleteIf contrast is a problem, you can adjust the brightness in the "Background" menu.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThere's more than one background for each of these. It'll change whenever you leave and then return to the home screen. You can use your own background by selecting it in the "Background" menu.
@swweet
ReplyDeleteBlame Sony for taking OtherOS away. That's another thing entirely, though.
On-topic: MLP PS3 backgrounds are pure awesomeness.
FUUU.... Yes! Gaming just got 20% cooler!
ReplyDelete@swweet im a technologicly impaired duck to an extent, ive seen vids of linux and it seems too complicated for me, i always thought that program that used was just to "jailbreak" the ps3 to instal programs like mame, i wouldve freaking loved playing ps2 games on my ps3...a pony can only dream:\
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome=]
ReplyDeleteThou disappointed in the lack of Colgate tho..
Wow great bunch of themes.
ReplyDeleteI PS3 background is now has a cute fluttershy as it's background & icons.
Where did they get a luna background like that?
ReplyDeleteThat's cool and all, but I'm going to have to find a better picture of Rarity. Don't really like that look of hers.
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty good, but they would just feel kind of wrong, considering that I've been playing God of War lately. No matter what fanfictions might claim, ponies and Kratos just don't mix.
ReplyDeleteOh NOOOOOO.
ReplyDeleteNow I actually have to choose what I like more between ponies and classic Megaman for my ps3 theme... I hoped it'd never come to this.
It makes me sad that I don't have a PS3. I asked for one for Christmas, but instead I got a blu-ray player. :( I love the new banner though. Yay Derpy!
ReplyDeleteSeth, where is the GREAT and POWERFUL Trixi's theme?
ReplyDeleteYay! More themes!
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for a Fluttershy theme for a while now!
Can someone instruct me on how to get these on my PS3? I have no clue what I'm doing.
ReplyDelete...
ReplyDeleteIf you will excuse me, I've got to buy a PS3
>owning a PS3
ReplyDeletei seriously hope you don't do this
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteU mad brony?
Personally, I think the PS3 is a great system... and i love the PSP as well.
Now if only I had a PS3...
ReplyDeleteI wish this was an option on the 360. :(
Put the files in a flash drive, went to theme to install it, 'there are no themes' shows up. Anyone else having this problem?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteExtract the folder labeled as PS3 & all contents into the root directry of the USB dongle then it should show up on the PS3 fine.
Okay, I am having trouble getting these babies onto my PS3. I downloaded the files onto a Lexar flash drive at the library, and I now tried putting them on, but it says that there are no themes. I have no idea what 7-Zip is, I have little technical knowledge for the computer beyond surfing the net, downloading stuff and installing games, and the only internet capable computer I have right now is the 3G smartphone that is in my hands right now. Could somepony please lend a hoof?
ReplyDelete@Kawaiipikachu
ReplyDeleteIt works now, thank you kindly. ^_^
@Gallant Vision:
ReplyDelete7-Zip is just another form of file-compression. If you just google 7-zip, you'll find all kinds of software for every platform that can read or expand 7-zip archives. Also, don't waste your money paying for 7-zip software, because there are excellent freeware programs for this.
@Shade TailI do appreciate the info, but it doesn't really tell me what I did wrong.
ReplyDeletei hope theres an Xbox 360 pony theme..........
ReplyDelete...and PSP theme too
ReplyDeleteNice try ponies, but I'm gonna stick with the Steve castle/80's guy from futurama theme I'm currently making
ReplyDeleteOkay, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. If somepony is willing to help out a clueless gamer, could you email me some simple instructions? My address is '[email protected]'. Any help is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteso for all the bronies who have problems with installing the themes: you hav to create a folder with the name PS3 and in that folder you have to create on with the name THEMES and then you place the .p3t files in this folder and you should be good to go :)
ReplyDelete@Umandsf
ReplyDeleteThat's not the only picture of Rarity they have, each time you reapply (and maybe even turn on) your ps3 the wallpaper changes. So that's not the only picture of rarity on the theme.
@Dr. Robotnic
ReplyDeleteOh oops someone already mentioned that.
Okay, is there another place I am able to download the themes from? The above anon mentioned .p3t format, but the format that I've got is .7z. I don't know if there's a difference between the two, but I still couldn't install the themes after following the above directions.
ReplyDeleteHaving same problem as Gallant Vision. What programs can be used to open the .7z file? I'd like to know specific programs don't want to just go online and download one at random that won't work and possibly wreck my computer.
ReplyDelete@Gallant Vision just download the free version of 7-zip and unpack the .7z-file to your desktop. you will get a folder filled with .p3t files, these are the actual themes. then follow my instruction, you refered to ;)
ReplyDelete@Anonymous use the free version of 7-zip or winrar and unpack the .7z-file to your desktop or you could send a message at my e-mail adresse so i can send you the unpacked files ;) it's [email protected]
ReplyDelete@ August 6th, 5:48 AM Anon:
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll be sure to do so the next time I'm on a computer.
@Gallant Vision you can also send me a message at my e-mail adress [email protected] so i can send you a reply with all the unpacked files in a folder that is ready to put on your usb-stick ;)
ReplyDelete@The_Smasher
ReplyDeleteI just might take you up on that offer, because I recently realized that I have no clue where to even go to unpack the files.
I really need to take a computer class (AND PAY ATTENTION) when I get into college. -_-;
@Gallant Vision shure and if you dont want me to know your e-mail adress you could allways make a new on and delet it afterwards but i ashure you i will not spam and give it out to anypony ;)
ReplyDelete@The_Smasher
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email earlier asking for the themes, not sure if you got it. If you did, then i shall wait for your timely reply. :)
@Gallant Vision got the e-mail, sent you the themes ;D
ReplyDeleteThis looks really cool but I don't know how to install these, can someone tell me how?
ReplyDelete@ZomBrony you have to unpack the .7z archiv and then you have to create a folder named PS3 wich contains another folder named THEMES an put all files in there. put the files on a usb and on your PS3 under DESING-Settings you choose "Install" and choose your USB-stick and then choose wich Theme you want to install. there you go, you can now use these themes ;) if you want, you can send me an e-mail and i'll send you the prepared folder.
