Confound this event! I have been bitten by the travel bug thanks to you guys and your amazing locations!
Everything from Paris to New Zealand... there are way too many cool places to check out.
Has anyone ever tried backpacking across Europe? How expensive is it?
I'm honestly considering something like this!
Anyway have some ponies chillin at various landmarks!

ReplyDeleteDONALDA!?! That's freakin' AWESOME! It's such a small town and I have friends there! Small world.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool to see! I wish I lived someplace interesting... Or had something Pony to show off.
ReplyDeleteMan, I wanted to do this, but we already had our vacation.

I'm glad somepony got Fillydelphia. I'm sad I wasn't able to make it.
ReplyDeleteCan i Do australia for round tree
ReplyDeleteSo much Ontario!
ReplyDeleteI seriously need to get a Parliament shot with my Fluttershy.
@54: Whitefeet! I snagged the Liberty Bell too; and a few other Filly landmarks. Heh, I knew I couldn't be the only one in this area!
ReplyDeletere:backpacking.
ReplyDeletewell, an interail pass for 1 month is about 300eur (400 dollars, watch that price, euros are quite volatile atm, so it'll probably drop if italy needs a bail out) which covers you for a month on any long distance train travel(pretty much all your travel needs if you're willing to walk, or take a bike.
food can be done cheaply, if you're willing to eat noodles/pasta and a little bit of sauce, you can subsist on a few eur a day (5 is really the minimum, but you can go lower, and should budget more.) if you want to eat pre cooked stuff, it's much more. budget 15 - 20. accommodation. a tent, some youth hostels (book out of season, in advance), and asking for accommodation on this blog should cover you very cheaply. we've all got a couch for you.
Awesome, just awesome.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have to ask Chris Wilson whether he knows Mike. :D
(Air Farce joke...)
I knew i should've taken some pics of the canals and the medieval layout of Haarlem, but i don't have any pony figures...
ReplyDeleteOh well, perhaps another time.
Kudos to #14 for bringing Rainbow Dash shipping to the next level.
ReplyDeleteHoly sheet, these are awesome!
ReplyDeleteNNNNnnnoooooooo..... somepony beat me to posting ponies in Ottawa. (and my pic isn't in this round yet.)

Also touring around Europe's pretty expensive for Americans these days due to Euro/Dollar values...
ReplyDeleteStill it's more then worth it!
Also be sure to visit more then just the known tourist attractions, those are often spoilt anyway...
I wish I could've got a shot of a pony infront of the Château Frontenac in Québec!
ReplyDeleteAaaw, Fort Smith counts as a place? I wish i had known that.
ReplyDeleteSeth, I backpacked through Spain two years ago. Not counting airfare, I spent about 500 euros or so over the month I was traveling. I did almost all my traveling on foot, which can save you a lot money if you plan it out right (and don't get hurt.)
ReplyDeleteMind you, I was traveling a well-known route that is like a thousand years old, so there were a lot of inexpensive hostels and restaurants that catered to backpackers. The less well-traveled a route you take, the more expensive it seems to get.
This event is really bringing back my old wanderlust...
@GabuEx
ReplyDeleteI'm mike...
... from canmore...
Wow! Amazing locations, absoloutely awesome stuff!!
ReplyDeletePonies in Russia and Tehran as well, who would have thought!
I don't think i've ever seen such a gorgeous location as that Colorado Springs "Garden of the Gods" That looks simply breathe taking!
@TheSweetestBelle
ReplyDeleteBronies in Ottawa need to have a meetup or something...
that tower from Tehran is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI feel compelled to do a photoshoot of AJ in Lancaster, PA. Surrounded by work mules and corn fields.
ReplyDeleteFinally! Somepony got to represent Fillydelphia!
ReplyDeleteOoh mine got posted :D
ReplyDeleteThe Tehran freedom tower is incredible. And oh god, that last pic...this stadium-sized Pinkie Pie will surely devour us all.
ReplyDeleteThis event was such a great idea.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteDear Vegetalss4
I bought it in a Toys R Us
sincerly - Wlah
Bah, so much ontario, and so little of the rest of canada. Lets see a maritime brony! (Yea, I realize I could have done it with any number of landmarks, but I'm a deep deep closet brony, lol)
ReplyDeleteBjorn Samuelsson, you need to thell me where you got that Fluttershy, stat.
ReplyDeleteMore Swedes! :D I've mailed with #16.

ReplyDeleteI'm right on the border of New Brunswick, here. Which province are you in?
I think the picture of the USSR memorial is very interesting and give food for thought. The memorail decay, like the USSR before.
ReplyDeleteSomeone did the Alamo! I was going to do the Alamo too. Figures someone else would as well though with so many entries. XD
ReplyDeleteSo many real beautiful and awesome places indeed. It's making me really wish I could travel more now. *sad face* :(
@ NB Anonymous
ReplyDeleteNS here.
*sigh* if Lauren Faust could see this now, haha, I love the world wide influence
ReplyDeletePonies in Iran?
ReplyDeleteThere's hope for this world yet
Ура русским брони!

http://www.ponychan.net/chan/int/res/1109.html
This event is incredible and amazing. I am a little dissapony in the lack of UK bronies. I was thinking about going to London to take a few pictures. I hope somepony made it.
ReplyDeleteOH LAWD is dat sum USC bronies?
ReplyDeleteFight On!
oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh #37! Another brony in Hamilton Ontario! U can almost see my house in that picture!
ReplyDeleteHooray for another Pittsburgh Brony!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a Social Studies teacher who backpacked across Europe. You need 500 monies plus airplane to get there if you don't mind living like a hobo. Bring 2 shirts, 1 pants/shorts, 3 underclothes, passport. Get one of those necklace bag things for your money and passport. 95% chance someone will try to steal your bags or wallet especially in touristy Rome. My teacher had to chase down his bags with the passport in after they were stolen from processing in a dock.
ReplyDelete50: Love the ponies trampling Rostock!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love this event and everything about it! Ponies around the world is the most fun I've had in ages! *hugs for everyone involved*
OMG Ottawa bronies! So awesome! *is also an Ottawa brony*
ReplyDeleteOnly me?? Where are all the cabronies???
ReplyDelete@Anonymous Touring across Europe is expensive for us Europeans too. Euro is strong currency but not when you don't get it enough. :/
ReplyDeleteWHOOO! TWO MALAYSIA BRONIES~
ReplyDeleteKL and PENANG REPRESENT~
Oh and Sethisto, in light of what you said in the last Ponies Around the World about sci-fi landscapes... go to Iceland!
ReplyDeleteYou drive across it, and it looks like Mars, then it looks like the Moon, then it looks like the Shire. Even the light is strange, at some points the sky looks green because of the reflection from the glaciers.
It is the most beautiful, eerie, alien-looking place I have ever been, and I would recommend it to anyone. Also, Reykjavik's a party town. And, because of their current economic issues, it is relatively affordable right now. Also, if you go in summer, it stays light all the time.
(Any Icelandic bronies out there, I'm sorry about Iceland's economic issues and am not putting it forward as a good or desirable thing, but it does take the sting out of visiting for foreigners)
Loving the Ottawa pics, I was thinking of taking a pic there too!
ReplyDeleteIran!?!?! How in the hell!?
ReplyDeleteMine isn't posted yet... Well, I don't lose hope.
ReplyDelete@Derpy Hooves hey sorry i got to the alamo first!
ReplyDeletebut if your in san antonio and you havent already, Id suggest going to rainbow dash network and joining our group, sanantoniobronies!
#54, glad to know there are Bronies in Philly!
ReplyDeleteAw, no Aussie bronies!
ReplyDeleteThe Captain Waffle guy should've taken his pictures in front of the steel factories, now that is the real landmark in our city
ReplyDeleteSome of those are shopped.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I was going to use a papercraft Twilight Sparkle in a picture of NASA from across the Indian River Lagoon (a place where many people gather to watch the shuttle launch), but I didn't and I haven't the slightest idea why.
Maaaan... I'm not the only Colorado Brony! I need to get a pic of a pony at the Colorado National Monument or the Denver Capital Building now...
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for mine to be up there!
ReplyDeleteWhy were cool ponies not around when I was at Fermilab??? That place is amazing! Twilight Sparkle could have been nerdin' it up at the tevatron! Now I wanna go back, but it's 10 hours away!
ReplyDeleteAlso forgot, they have a buffalo farm at Fermilab. Could have had Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie (and don't forget Spike) hangin with their buffabros.
ReplyDelete@Seyrie
ReplyDeleteWe need to organize all of the ottawa bronies.
Drop me a line - capitalbrony@gmail.com
http://i51.tinypic.com/okvona.jpg
If i knew about this earlier! WOuld have took some pictures in good ol' Quebec city!
ReplyDeleteYay, someone took a picture of KL 8DDD
ReplyDeleteNow we need more other landmarks...
We need to get some pictures out in my home-town of Chicacolt! I'd do it myself, but I'm totally visiting family out on the farm right now. Unless my mom's a landmark, I don't have much to contribute personally. :(
ReplyDelete1 post from Mexicolt per round. Not too bad :)
ReplyDeleteNopony from Ukraine? CELESTIA-DAMMIT! Guess I'll have to be the first.
ReplyDeleteOh lord, it's a shame us ottawa bronies couldn't have run into each other while we where snapping shots ;D
ReplyDeleteFor everypony wondering about Iran: I'm actually Canadian, but my cousin's wedding was here, so I decided to take a picture during my middle eastern vacation. I was thrilled to see this event pop up at such a convienient time.
ReplyDelete>Nopony from Ukraine?
ReplyDeleteI was born in Ukraine but I don't live there anymore. So yeah, you have to be a pioneer for this event. =)
@SonicBrawler1992
ReplyDeleteI bought Fluttershy and some other brushable ponies at the local toy-store Jättekul close to the railway station in Lund. I ordered brushable Twilight Sparkle from Lekmer that has Internet stores in Sweden (lekmer.se), Norway (lekmer.no), Denmark (lekmer.dk) and Finland (lekmer.fi).
Is there gonna be a Ponies Around the World Round 3? If so, who should we send the pic to? I got another location that has not been posted yet.
ReplyDeleteHah, more Danish bronies. Who'd a thunk?
ReplyDelete#15 Looks like I`m the only one for now. Slovakia bronies where you at?
ReplyDeleteThis also proves How ponies bring together WORLD PEACE.
ReplyDeleteawesome - i would have loved to submit to this but didn't have a decent camera - but so far looks like the Closest Brony to me is in Canmore AB, Canada
ReplyDeleteI'm french and i'm glad some people took photos in Paris!
ReplyDeleteI'm insulted of picture 16.
ReplyDeleteWell, what would you expect from a swede?
(mumbling about swedish people sexuality)
They were more civiliced than us last time 17th century, nowdays they're apparently childish jerks.
Never mind, love and tolerate!
Brohoof!
Yay someone from Denmark!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to any of these places. So far, my score is Fall 1, World 99. Still time to turn that around!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, would it be possible to include links to the previous instalments in each update?
ReplyDeletePlease do this again?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteSeriously???
Finn refers to the local legend of Finn the Giant. I left this reference as a riddle for people who like to search the net for old storys. I was not aware it could be interpreted in an offensive way, and I still don't see any obvious offensive iterpretation.
Have i run out of time to do this? as i found out about it today (missed the 1st post)
ReplyDeletecant believe i was a day late :(
ReplyDeleteSup Ottawa bronies! Interested in a meetup? E-mail me @ catherine_lise@hotmail.com

ReplyDeleteRarity so belongs in Paris.
ReplyDeleteRarity fits so well in Paris.
ReplyDeleteAlso, yay, there are other Bronies near Chapel Hill! I also took a pic near the Old Well, but decided my Davie Poplar pic was cuter.
Yay, Malaysian bronies!! Too bad my laptop died... Otherwise I would've gotten a picture of me holding Twilight Sparkle with Mount Kinabalu in the background...
ReplyDeleteNaaaw. No fellow German Bronies? I should really have made a picture with Rarity and the "Messe Tower" in Frankfurt. Shame i was too lazy :(
ReplyDeleteSomething about Rarity in Paris and Fluttershy at the USSR Memorial makes my day.
ReplyDeleteTHERE WILL BE SERBIA, I TELL YOU!
ReplyDeleteNAYC!
Good, still no Cincinnati ponies and Florence KY ponies. I'll shall be in the second round! 8D
ReplyDeleteEr...next round. Whenever it is. o.o
ReplyDelete@Ado_PO
ReplyDeleteJa som zo Žiliny. Momentálne bývam v Kysúckom Novom Meste.
An addition to my previous comment:
ReplyDeleteGiven the context, I thought it was unlikely that anyone with the name Finn or of Finnish nationality would believe the text was directed to them. Maybe I was wrong about that, or maybe I stepped on a linguistic land-mine of some other sort.
I'm sorry for messing things up.
@Ado_PO
