Oh, and I literally broke down and Cried to Forrest Gump. My god is it a great film. Its well directed, perfectly acted, and extremely touching and motivational. If Forrest can make something of his life, Everyone can.
I always thought the term 'Trailer PMV' was the best we can do. It's sorta kinda technically inaccurate, but it can't be misunderstood, it's a pony-specific term, and it sounds, you know, official-ish.
I personally thing "PMT" (Pony Movie Trailer) would be the best option, but I can see the appeal in using the same abbreviation acroll all variations of the medium.
But then, if I decide the abbreviation stands for "Pony Movie Video", all is right with the world. Except for the redundancy. But it's at least better for my sanity if I have an alternate meaning for PMV on trailers.
1. This hasn't been done yet? For shame. 2. If this is about Pinkie and Twilight arguing over who is a psycho...safe to say it's Pinkie. Good PMV! 3. Damn, shitty music right after #2's good music...
1: Fantastic. Awesome job with your character selection and consistency, lipsynch was perfect throughout. Props.
2: Magnificent scene choice. Song's exciting and the way you presented it caught my eye and matched the tones of the song perfectly, resulting in a great PMV.
3: Not bad, but didn't really draw me in. Scene choice and whatever lipsynch I noticed was pretty good, though. A few issues where you caught the beginning/end of the next/previous scene of some clips, as well as an issue or two I noticed with either slowdown or looping a clip where it doesn't move all that smoothly.
Personally, although technically they are created in much the same manner, I find the movie trailers and other mashups to be quite different from music videos.
I would prefer there to be a different label for non-music mashups.

I feel like there should be a different name than "PMV" for a trailer mashup, because they really aren't Pony "Music Videos". Other ideas?
ReplyDeleteThe correct spelling Is *Forrest Gump*
ReplyDeleteAPV: Awesome Pony Videos?
ReplyDeleteI hope someone makes a Social Network one.

ReplyDelete#1 was amazing! Great movie, great choice of clips and characters, although I wonder why Granny Smith wasn't his Mama, anyway, it was awesome.
ReplyDeleteQuite an intriguing set of PMVs.... if that's the correct terminology for all three of them.
ReplyDeleteStop with the posts I want to look at. I'm not dedicated enough to ruin my sleep all the way down to Seth status!
