ReplyDeleteYESYESYESYESYES! Finally! Thank you!
ReplyDelete*calming breath*
Ok... well, I hope everyone enjoys it.
BTW Seth, it's actually completed now.
ReplyDeleteComments. A "first" and two happy comments from the author that it's been uploaded.
ReplyDeleteI may not have the attention span for a longfic though. I have very few fics that hold my attention.
There's no "Story" in the title!
ReplyDeleteyou should fix that
Well...I can defiantly long. This should kill some hours when I am bored
ReplyDelete>clicks post thinking it's an awesome fan made animation or something

It was a good story. The ending leaves me wanting, though.
ReplyDeleteEpilogue, please!
I agree, an epilogue would be most appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI must ask, even though [Crossover] isn't listed in the description, were the Order-naries from another series, or were they imagined by the author of this fanfic? A quick google search leads me right back here.
Excellent Story, to be sure!
@B. Momentai mon ami. I can do you one better: a sequel is already in the works.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous The Order-naries are wholly original creations.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just finished it, and I really liked it. Not much else to say really.
ReplyDeleteRead the whole thing. I thought it was great. I kept thinking that the ordinaries were from some other series as a crossover but I'm quite happy now knowing they were original creations of the author.
ReplyDeleteJust got up to the boutique's destruction and had to post.
ReplyDeleteYou do know Twilight and Spike are kinda... close, right? As in she pretty much brought him into the world and they love each other in a brother-sister/mother way? Twilight doesn't seem to react at all to to seeing her closest friend consumed in a "maelstrom of earth". The first one to even mention his name is one of the blasted OCs. I mean, nopony seems to give a damn about the very real possibility that Spike's been crushed to death under the seismic upheaval that's just taken place in front of them until Fluttershy arrives a good while after the fact.
Sorry for ranting. The description of the action was very good and it looks like a really solid story so far, but the jarringly incongruous reactions of the mane cast there really rubbed me up the wrong way.
Welp, back to reading...
finished the beast. i really enjoyed reading that. a couple flaws (twilights reaction to the danger spike was in is one example outlined by the anon above me) but nothing that i couldnt move past.
ReplyDeleteto anyone reading this comment it is definitely worth reading despite its size.
That was quite good. I will give the caveat that it's not very pony-like — the characterizations were good, but not stellar, and the world in general felt pretty different with the story of the Order-naries mixed in to it — but that's a pretty minor complaint, if it even qualifies as that. Taking it as a fairly standard Good vs Evil fantasy story (with a hint of pony) rather than an episode of the show, it excels. 5 stars, and can't wait for the sequel.
ReplyDeleteAm I being impatient with this comment, or is there seriously nothing anypony has to say about the second story?
ReplyDeleteIt'll be much shorter than the first, if that's worrying y'all.
Thanks for the fics! I was impressed with the OC ponies, I thought for sure they had to be from a book series or something, you put plenty of background in there, made me feel like they had real personality. Haven't got a chance to read story two, but I'll get on it. Too many fics, too little time.
ReplyDeleteI have only read part of the first one, and I have to say this is a very good fic so far. Hope the rest is as good.
ReplyDelete@C. Theron Vulpin
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I will have to personally try your patience a little longer. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, I also have an aversion to reading incomplete stories that I haven't managed to get over yet. It's a little silly, and it's probably detrimental overall since it means I can't make comments or suggestions until its too late, but them's the breaks. I'll read the sequel when it's finished, or maybe earlier if I can make myself.
I’ve read both stories and I can fairly say I’ve enjoyed them. I got very into the first story and it kept me interested all the way though. I was a bit disappointed that it lacked an epilogue and that it ended quite abruptly, but your second story fixed that.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more of your work as well as more adventures from Ash and the gang.
Well, I guess I didn't have long to wait! Second one was very good as well. Not quite as dark as the first (not that the first was all that dark), but very fun. I could keep reading these for a good long time.
ReplyDeleteAs a quick note, I think it would also be fun to read some stories of the Order-naries before they came to Equestria, though I'm afraid the mythos you've built for them would make the plots somewhat predictable. Still, it's something to consider.
@A Terrible Person
ReplyDeleteI've tossed the idea around in my head, but I haven't found any settings or plots that'll work. For now, I'm just going to move forward and see what other mischief I can put my OCs through and what other ponies get brought along for the ride.
I'll have to agree with some of the above comments. I usually don't read a fic unless it's complete. I kept putting this one off after I finished the first story, but when I saw it was complete, it moved to the top of my list. I loved both stories, and would love more with these characters (before Equestria maybe?).
ReplyDeleteThe OC ponies have nice depth to them, to the point where I wonder if any concepts might be borrowed or adapted from another work (Element Wheel, for example). If it's all original, then amazing creativity, and building off of archetypes. Instead of being "same pony, different name" OCs, they each had their own personalities, which I think was the best part of the stories.
That being said, excellent stories. I feel the first story was better, but it's hard to make something bad happen in a world already given its happily ever after. Again, I'd love more from their past, perhaps how they first met and fought Tau'rin, or Ash's past. Thanks for the stories, I hope to read more from you!
TL:DR 5/5 stars
Is this a crossover between MLP and a completely original story/verse created by the author?
ReplyDeleteBecause I don't see a crossover tag/label anywhere, even though it obviously combines MLP with SOMETHING.
I haven't read enough of the story yet to have formed an opnion on how good/bad it is, so don't take anything I said here as criticism or compliments.
It can't be a cross-over if the other universe doesn't officially exist yet.
ReplyDeleteJust finished the third story. I've enjoyed all of them thoroughly, even though the "villain" in the most recent story was a little benign, it was funny seeing Ash troll Celestia.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.
-Joe
That third story was great. Worthy of a [Comedy] tag, most likely. I like this series so much.
ReplyDeleteFirst story down, Great. 5 Stars. A couple of OOC moments for the Mane cast but great none the less. I like that the Mane 6 had about equal screen time.
ReplyDeleteRead everything.
ReplyDeleteFive stars.
That is all.
Just stopping by to say that I enjoyed all of these, and I read the first three chapters of the unfinished story story on your Fanfiction.net account, and I can't wait for you to finish it!
ReplyDeleteNew story is great. Someone tell Seth this can be tagged 5 star now.
