Man, I was totally expecting the "A-MARE-ica, Fuck Yeah!" video to be put in the 4th of July news post.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, the video that was used was... interesting.
i wish we had fireworks :(
ReplyDeleteBut where it matters, it is still the 4th...
ReplyDeleteYes it is huge here.. second to only New Years Eve, in Global impact... BTW this US Holiday lands on the same weekend as Canada Day.. which is very coool.
If only Canada Day was celebrated with this much patriotism.

Happy Colonial Dissension Day!
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for the price of that tea!
Sincerely, the British.
>might be obnoxious
ReplyDeleteBut we're ALWAYS obnoxious. Just part of why we're great!
Happy Independence Day!
Even though I live halfway across the world from the US I celebrate it anyways. Happy Independence Day!
ReplyDeleteThis will show up here eventually, so I guess I'll be the one to do it:
ReplyDeleteGood morning. In less than an hour, pegasi from Cloudsdale will join others from around the Equestria. And you will be launching the largest equine battle in the history of ponykind. "Ponykind." That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom... Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from everlasting night. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as a Canterlot holiday, but as the day Equestria declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the everlasting night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
Im going to do the most American thing I can do BLOW SHIT UP!!!!
ReplyDelete@Narwhals' Bend
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely made of awesome.
Fuck America it's the UK premier of MLP on July 4th.
ReplyDeletePosted by Sethisto at 4:53 PM
ReplyDeleteBecause America doesn't need your semi-hourly update times!
Happy 4th! :D
Thanks for posting this up seth i really appreciate it -alex
ReplyDeleteSince I'm in a good mood today I won't bash USA. Not going to make a habit out of that, though.
ReplyDeleteTime to celebrate the birth of the nation by blowing up a small chunk of it.
ReplyDeleteFun fact, CHILEANS ALSO HAVE THE SAME THREE COLORS!!! hahahaha!, silly NORTH americans.
ReplyDelete~Flamerunner
Soilder?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAs well as the British. And the Dutch. And the Russians. And the French. And... Well, you get the idea.
>a little bit obnoxious
ReplyDeleteyou have no idea seth...
Anyway, happy 4th of July you american/equestrian/thing comrades.
ReplyDelete~Flamerunner
More like "**** america, yeah"
ReplyDeleteActually the funny thing is americans dont realise how that song totally bashes usa.
Anyways, 4ty july is better known for FiM coming to the UK
Yes i'm communist too.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteA good portion of the world has red, white, and blue on their flag.
Heh heh heh...'SPLOSIONS!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeletewe totally know it bashes the usa, but the statemented america is so awsome that it doesnt matter
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteBah, anybody who doesn't realize the song is satire is either too young to understand what satire is, or has their head lodged painfully far up their ass.
Please don't include me in either category.
"Fuck America.
ReplyDeleteCommunism all the way!"
How ironic, considering America is a statist society.
"Sorry to the non American bronies out there, I know this might be a little bit obnoxious for you guys."
ReplyDeleteHey, you guys recognized Canada Day, so that makes it OK to celebrate Independency Day too. :D
British brony:
ReplyDeleteWe gave birth to you all! You should be thanking us!
Oh well, happy 4th of July for the American guise.
ReplyDeleteSeth not to be a burden or anthing but I cant seam to be able to see the videos.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThis.
And this haven't turned into shitstorm, yet. I'm surprised.
"Don't blow yourselves up"
ReplyDelete...Too late...
I have no problems with you guys celebrating such an important day for your country, I'm celebrateing the fact MLP:FIM has finnaly aired on brittish shores.
ReplyDeleteAMERICAN AND BRITTISH BRONY PARTY!
@Ike Jager
ReplyDeleteYou didn't want us to separate, but you let us after assuring you that you would still be our biggest trade partner. This benefited both of us. Also, by letting us separate, your could pull your forces in the colonies which were being kept busy by the continental army. By allowing the already mentioned separation, the British suddenly had more troops to fight the French, who had been helping the colonials, and saved money they would have spent running the colonies.
As shown above, we shouldn't be thanking you at all. If we didn't offer you enough to allow us to separate, you would have sent your superior army and crushed the new government. Fortunately for us, you were busy with some stupid argument with the French, and you got jealous that we traded with them and attacked us a few decades later.
God Bless A-Mare-ica and all who defend her!
ReplyDeleteI love you My Little Pony.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteBeing written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone means you would have to be a complete moron to know that it isn't satire. Its not "Born in the USA," it was the theme song for Team America.
But that doesn't mean that it doesn't also work as a piece of fun, senseless self-gratification.
@TenchiFreak5
ReplyDeleteAh good ol' July 4th, our day of declaring independence. It might not mean much to everyone who does not live in the United States, but this is one of my favorite holidays. I have always been proud of this.
ReplyDeleteAlso: I have a urge to go watch 1776.
Oh yeah: also forgot to say: don't fall victim tot he parasprites in the commentary. Just sayin
ReplyDelete@TenchiFreak5
ReplyDeleteAck, don't know what I did there.
Anyway...
Born In The USA isn't exactly the nationalistic theme people often take it for.
It had to do with the effects of the Vietnam war on veterans and the working class.
@treble
ReplyDeleteI know. That was my point. "Born in the U.S.A." is an anti-war song famously misunderstood by just about everyone in the country after 1984. What I was saying was, at least with that song the misunderstanding is pretty fair one to make these days.
"America, Fuck Yeah" is the theme song of a movie written by the creators of South Park. It makes no sense that someone would unironically use it as a fist-pumping song about patriotism unless they were pants-on-head retarded or colossally ignorant.
Pff.
ReplyDeletePatriotism... :/
@TenchiFreak5
ReplyDeleteAh, I gotcha. Sorry about that. I think we're in agreement, though.
Awesome vid Happy 4th A-MARE-rican ponies
ReplyDelete@TenchiFreak5
ReplyDeleteI believe it also patriotic to snark about your country. It shows you care.
Meanwhile, Canada is a wee bit too hung over from Canada Day (and St Jean Baptiste if you hark from Quebec) to really notice the festivities down south. Carry on.
Ah, the American Revolution: the one revolution in history where you could say there was SOME toleration (unlike others...cough*frenchrevolutionof1789*cough). Afterwards, it was basically status quo between Britain and our country in everything but government (technically, we were more trade dependent with Britain due to being cut off from European industries but, oh well...). Now we celebrate this with abusing our right to blow s*** up as attempt to make sonic rainbooms out of explosives.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, that Team America video felt so good.
ReplyDeleteAhaha I love how I don't think my video has a single comment in here yet.
ReplyDelete@TenchiFreak
ReplyDeleteNow it's not very nice or pony-like to call people retarded. I'm pretty sure 99% of us that say, "America, FUCK YEAH!" know well that it comes from a satire song. It's still funny. Call it making fun of ourselves. If anything, I'd have to say you're the ignorant one for not being open-minded to consider that, instead of just calling everyone who made the statement retarded or "colosally ignorant." These country vs. country flame wars also get incredibly old, as do the mindless insulting. Really wards people away from this website and makes the pony fanbase seem just as aggressive and heartless as every other fanbase out there.
America is a continent, not the USA, silly.
ReplyDeleteOH GOD NOT AGAIN
ReplyDelete:stopmusic:
America FUCK YEAH!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th everyone!
Happy 4th July to you Americans. ;D
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean we can expect St George/Patricks day celebrations when they come around, Pony style? xD
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteFor starters, I'm an American.
Two, you basically just called me ignorant because I expressed the same sentiment that you just said.
Three, I've already posted "A-MARE-ica, Fuck Yeah" as my official pony celebration on two different message boards.
And I already explained in the comments above that the song was a satire but it could still be used (albeit somewhat mockingly) as a way to express genuine patriotism.
And my first comment was expressing disappointment that Seth didn't originally have it posted.
So what are you talking about?
America is best country ever. umad third world country bronies?
ReplyDelete(note: this comment is not directed toward foreigners posting friendly sentiments ITT)
America, yay. I'm pleased that our british friends are celebrating the birth of the nation I live in with ponies.
ReplyDeleteI know some of us Americans are obnoxiously ethnocentric ALL THE TIME...but I think one day for everyone to celebrate independence is certainly acceptable. AMERICA FUCK YEAR.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYep. Because we're all morons that don't know what satire is. ;)
Ex-Army here. Sorry for winning everything we do. We're just badass Americans.
ReplyDelete@BillyBatman
ReplyDeleteVietnam says hi.
Ah, also all the first world countries forced to fight your wars for you cuz you couod onoy fight third world countries (and still lose in vietnams case) say hi
The funniest thing about americans is that.
ReplyDelete1. They're the most patriotic country
2. Of all the countries, america has the least to be patriotic about
=)
@Anonymous (6:41)
ReplyDeleteFunny you poke fun at the french in regards to revolutionary wars when it was the French who fought americas revolutionary for them. Had more casaulties and everything (then again, the 'americans' who fought in that war were actually irish immigrants forced into fighting lest they be deported. Basically, yanks did sh*tall for their own war) kinda like the present day
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThe funniest thing about the rest of the world is that they call Americans ignorant bigots for bashing other countries, but it's ok for the rest of the world to bash America.
Happy Twilight Sparkles to all you bronies/ponies on this 4th of July!
ReplyDelete*Swish...Boom!*
Vote Twilight Sparkle as the patron pony of the 4th of July!
Get it, twilight is when we usually watch fireworks, they sparkle, oh my cleverness never ceases to amaze me!)
Um, yay America and all, but here in Texas we kinda got ourselves a statewide burn ban. So no KOOL SPLOSIONS YAYAYAYAYAYAY.
ReplyDeleteIn America!
Thanks for mentioning The US's Independence Day! It's great to see that despite this being a multi-national fanbase, those in charge are still willing to put geographical differences aside to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteSo let's keep the country bashing posts to a minimum, out of respect for everypony.
I love being an American, nothing says Freedom like blowing up a decent sized part of my yard every year!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I think congratulations are in order so happy 4th July to whom it is relevant to.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that the comments are mostly civil (knowing the nature of pre-ponies internet this should have turned into a flamefest by now), bronies impress me to no end.
From Stalliongrad with friendship.
@Kjh242
ReplyDeleteI ignored that :)
Then again I live in the middle of nowhere soooo....
"I hate America" ~Immigrant(Me)
ReplyDeleteI celebrated the fourth like Dash would have. Taking a million naps, only to wake up for fireworks and food...and a party!
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is having a great fourth!
ReplyDeleteStupid Florida and their Fireworks bans. It just didn't feel the same today, but got to watch Independence Day, and that's a freakin' sweet movie.
ReplyDeleteHey, Republicans rock. Some of us are bronies too. And 'twas Bush sent the Ops after Bin Laden...Obama's just sucking up the credit.
ReplyDeleteA little surprised to see all the hate coming from all the outside country Bronies out there... Shame on you! =/
ReplyDeleteIn any case, want America to leave? Fine, we'll just take our Lauren Faust and our Ponies and go.
Just kidding, love and friendship for all my good Brony friends~ ^3^
Anyways, today celebrates not only the will for Americans to stand up against oppression, but it should also be a day for ALL countries to celebrate standing up to Celes-er... tyranny!
Im talking about France, India, Australia (I think...?), Ireland, and even the great county of Equestria! Celebrate freedom today, my comrades, stand hoof in hoof and proclaim, we are free! We are free! We are FREE! It is a day for love, not hate, so enough with the bashing and put downs, we are all ponies at heart, so unite to night, my brethren, and see all our colors represented in these colorful fires in the sky!
~ Love and peace,
Red-Medicine~
hehe duck...
ReplyDeleteFriendship is Magic.......In America!
ReplyDeleteHooray for doing illegal fireworks in the middle of nowhere!
ReplyDeleteI was doing that with my family on the 3rd. *shifty eyes*

ReplyDeleteObnoxious=understatement.
ReplyDeleteI won't bash you if you remember to mention Finland's independence day. (which is 6.12)
Above anon here, that means 6th December for you backwards people.
ReplyDeletei miss when mlp was still a budding thing..... a lot less hate in the community
ReplyDelete
