Hey there, everypony! It's comic time! Yay, comic time. Today's fare deals with the vast reaches of reality beyond the scope of our every day lives. Deep stuff! Above, please find enclosed a lovely little comic in which Granny Smith explains to three young crusaders where the stars and constellations came from. Below, please find... um... well, let's just say it's based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft and leave it at that, mmkay?

ReplyDeleteWhat was that.
@Not Creeper
ReplyDeleteThis was posted by Phoe.
...and this was posted by phoe. dammit.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is really beautiful. Really love the mystical feel.
ReplyDeleteAnd the second one, lol.
the star-swirl comic is incredibly drawn!
ReplyDeleteThat Star Swirl comic is.. wow.
ReplyDeleteAnd further that, I was listening to Genesis songs a the time.. cried a bit putting them together x.x
That first one gave me chills.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is pure, lore-worthy win.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is absolute hwat.

I don't even know what to say about the second comic.
ReplyDeleteYES, DIE, TELEVISION, DIE!
ReplyDeleteMUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHH!
That'll teach you not give poor Pinkie such horrible nightmares! *shudder* Human Pinkie... I'm going to be sick.
I need to know who made the first one, it's true to the show, has frigging good shading, excellent glowy eyes, and overall it's incredibly amazing
ReplyDeleteFirst one is cute.
ReplyDeleteSecond one is a pocket full of creepy........ >.>
What lovecraft is that?
ReplyDeleteThat first comic is so awesome, Little Scoot got a wingboner
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful illustration work in that first comic. Source plz?
ReplyDeleteCELESTIAL BEING? I am a Gundam Meister Setsuna F. Seiei..
ReplyDeleteMe Gusta
@ZAquanimusHAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteComic #2 reminded me of that part early on in "Conker's Bad Fur Day"
ReplyDelete*evil weasel doctor smacks giant choclate bar*
"OUT THE FUCKIN' WINDOW!"
Amazing first one :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Rainbow Dash, but Jeffrey Combs Pony is now Best Pony.
ReplyDeleteThe promo image for the second comic made me start singing "Move Your Dead Bones" from Beyond Re-Animator. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFG8sMzDH94 ) ...then I saw the actual comic and was violently ill.
ReplyDelete...now, I must ask, if the comic was NOT based on the Re-Animator series, but instead on a Lovecraft story, what story WAS it?
What does the text on that bottle say? I don't read Russian/Slavonic/Bulgarian.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Pinkie would worry if she was human. She doesn't worry about much anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe first one doesn't make any sense to me
ReplyDeleteOo
Little Star Swirl soon grieved she couldn't light the sky for everypony and she wanted to choose her own path. When she couldn't take it anymore, she shot up towards the heavens and like a firework exploded.
wat?
First picture needs a fanfic based off it.
ReplyDeleteIs the second one based on "The Island of Dr. Moreau?" I feel like it's that... Still. Cannot unsee. Great first comic, Too!
ReplyDelete#1 So Pretty...
ReplyDeleteDoes that shot of Granny Smith make anyone else want a Bone crossover?
ReplyDeleteDammit, now I want the Star Swirl toy. Shame she only comes as a double pack. :(
ReplyDeleteLove the fact the doctor is Russian
ReplyDeleteohgodohgodohgod little starswirl is so cute i might cry.
ReplyDeleteThe first one, the colours are just so...warm, it feels like it's actually being told to me, very awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe bottle says: "Store in a dry cool place, out of reach of foals. Use only as directed."
ReplyDelete[Translation note: The second sentence is literally "Is prescription medicine.", but "Use only as directed." is the corresponding phrase/disclaimer on American medicine.]
Source for first comic please
ReplyDeleteImagine if StarSwirl becomes the new favourite OC pony
Star Swirl is awesome
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteShe flew into the sky and exploded. What's not to get? :D
@Mr.Brony
ReplyDeleteAgh, sorry for the double post, but I need to point this out. She's not an OC; she's one of the toys. She became more widely known through a contest on Ponychan.
Actually I made the comic about StarSwirl. You can find it here: http://sakuyamon.deviantart.com/#/d3jrvnb
ReplyDeleteIt was made for a contest on Ponychan, which I won. The price was a Raritys Carriage with Starswirl.
The first comic actually kinda made me a little sad. Poor Star Swirl. :( I hope she's still out there searching for her own path. lol Also, I agree with above comments that it was very beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteI'm not certain on the exact reference of the second comic, but I know it's familiar. Pinkie chucking the TV reminds me of Poltergeist for some reason. lol
@Sakuya
ReplyDeleteWell, congrats on the win. :)
The first one: Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe second one: 0_o
Did she explode again?
ReplyDeleteThis is proof that not enough people have read Herbert West: Re-Animator, or even see the movie. Excellent comics.
ReplyDeleteOne thing to say about the second one. HAWT!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is incredibly drawn, not to mention sweet. The second one is cool too, I love ReAnimator
ReplyDelete@starcat5
ReplyDeleteherbert west reanimator lovecraft wrote the novella the reanimator series was based on
The Star Swirl one is just.... GORGEOUS. And a little sad... a fanfic with StarSwirl would be sweet.
ReplyDelete@Krass McWriter
ReplyDeleteRe-Animator
@starcat5
ReplyDeletethe original Re-Animator story, from which Re-Animator is based on.
@Blur
ReplyDeleteno its Re-Animator
@Octavia
ReplyDeletehow the fuck could you not know its Re-Animator
Wait, Pinkie's hair goes flat when she goes to bed. I thought she would just rap it into a large bun and used it as a pillow. Well, you learn something new every day.
ReplyDeleteHerbert West the Great Re-Animaretor?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThanks!
first gave me goosebumps from epicness.. not even kidding
ReplyDeleteboth were great for their own reasons
ReplyDeleteDarn, I was like "Heck yeah I know it's Herbert West-Reanimator, please don't let anypony else say it ye- NOOOOOO!!!"
ReplyDeletethe bad thing about doing a comic if the transition from pony to human... they are clothes-less as pony and would blow the rating if put into a comic.
ReplyDeletei'd like a ponyfication :P
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeletei know right?
That first one is amazing. I love the story (is that an OC pony? Who cares!) and the art.... wowza!
ReplyDeleteTHat first one with star swirl was really nice. I love mythological/fable stories like that.
ReplyDelete@ZombiePink
ReplyDeleteStarswirl is one of the pony toys.
The grammar in the Star Swirl story is atrocious, but the art is grand.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks! Makes it even better, IMO.
Hmm... that humanizer...
ReplyDelete...we must find the antidote...
YES!! There are so many Lovecraft fans within the Brony fanbase! I LOVE IT!!!!
ReplyDelete1. I like this idea!
ReplyDelete2. You go Pinkie Pie, chuck that TV!
The first comic looks gorgeous. So many colors, so many wonders <3 I am not so sure about the narrative, though.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is just hilarious XD
The one with Pinkie Pie is funnier if you imagine the science pony has a thing for humans.
ReplyDeleteFirst comic is great.
ReplyDeleteSecond comic is funny and that human version of Pinkie is quite attractive. (I've seen worser versions)
@Firleycat I'm assuming her hair deflated due to her dream upsetting her.
ReplyDeletei'm guessing that the starswirl comic either inspired the fanfic "her illustrive highness" or vice versa. not sure.
ReplyDelete1st one d,awww 2nd one O_O
ReplyDeleteCannot read... ponibooru's dead. *sadface*
ReplyDelete
