This is framed up at the Wayne County Public Library in Wooster, Ohio, making it the greatest library in all of the United States.
I'm pretty sure this needs to happen elsewhere. Every library needs a motivational Twilight Sparkle! Kids these days don't even bother with books anymore!

awesome
ReplyDeleteTo good.
ReplyDeleteTwilight, being my now second favorite pony, I've decided to dive into Gravity's Rainbow. Just for her.
Wish me luck.
I'm intimidated and want to read.
ReplyDeleteThat is simply AWESOME. FUCK YEAH, READING!
ReplyDeleteI want to put this up at my local library.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Reading Rainbow Dash, just sayin'.
Indeed it has become the greatest library in the US. Others should follow it's example.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the looks of bafflement from everyone who doesn't understand why they are being directed to read by a horse.
ReplyDeleteAwesome stuff. Now we need a Celestia 'Obey' poster hanging up in a courthouse somewhere.
Awesomeness, although I take umbrage at that statement. I'm a 14-year-old bookworm.
ReplyDeleteHah, that's really funny. Works for me though.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jesus! <3
ReplyDeletethis makes me want to read a book
ReplyDeleteWelp better get on the horn and call Mom
ReplyDelete(shes a librarian)

ReplyDeleteI had seen this pic on /co/ or Ponychan, I don't remember which. I don't know if it's the same library (although it would have to be either the same picture or another one, on another wall) or an entirely different building.
I want to go to Ohio now.
ReplyDeleteIn like 3 months more, that library will be full of fanfics.
ReplyDeleteREAD A BOOK, READ A BOOK, READ A MOTHAFUCKIN BOOK
ReplyDeleteAs an ex-library worker I approve of this command for people to engage in advance literacy.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteMost likely the same picture. The county commissioner in the picture next to Twilight is from Ohio, according to Wikipedia, so the different looking wall may just be from differing shades of light when the pictures were taken.
I need to get one up at my University in the Fall now. Because Ohio sucks.
ReplyDelete/Michigan Undergrad
heck! I wouldn't mind just having that poster!
ReplyDeleteI now want to go to the library. IN THE NAME OF TWILIGHT SPARKLE. :D
ReplyDeleteThat is the best thing I've seen all week.
ReplyDelete@Ivan2294 <-- Also Give this man a prize.
Broskies, I can so visit there.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is a differently library for sure, but it looks like it might be another branch of the Wayne County Public Library, based on the bag in the bottom of the picture
ReplyDeleteAnd slowly but surely, ponies are taking over the world!
ReplyDeleteThat is fracking awesome.
ReplyDeleteI wish the libraries around here had something like that.
Oh man, the reaction I would have if I saw this....
ReplyDeleteIt's apparently in the Teen room (My ex sent me the pic). I'm just glad it's not in the children's section.
ReplyDeleteBest library ever.
ReplyDeleteWhat does the small text under the Twilight poster in the second pic say?
ReplyDeleteI can totally see a guy's face reflected in that.
ReplyDeleteThat library is now 20% more literate
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Just with a glance you could tell it's way cooler and effective than the other posters on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI wanna go to this library.
ReplyDeleteThis library shall be my Mecca!
ReplyDeleteI think we all want to go to this library.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I wish I had this in my Library.
ReplyDelete@Vulcan539
ReplyDeleteI wish everyone could come see this. Mostly because I don't know any Bronies IRL and want to feel less like a weirdo.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it, yes, it might be the same. At a first glance the first one seems to be on a wood background, but it seems that's not the case. Also, the frame is the same, and looks like there are a couple of words in the bottom right, so yes, it's probably the same thing.
Ponies are slowly taking over the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd then once the human race goes extinct, we will resurrect as magical talking ponies, and friendship will become our primary mindset.
Also, *in Rainbow Dash voice* BEST. LIBRARY. EVER.
Requesting original picture.
ReplyDeleteFUCK
ReplyDeleteYES
I've never had a reason to go to a library (since the internet), but I'd go there just to bask in the glory of that poster.
Normally, a sign like that would translate to "Ha! We think you're five!"
ReplyDeleteBut that sign says "We KNOW There's still some five year old in your body! READ A MUTHERFLIPPIN BOOK!!!"
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCKYEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis just made my weekend.
I'm also reminded of the recent Twilight PMV.
I'M READIN' A BOOK!
OBEY ME, read a book.
ReplyDeletechild: no. Bookz R lamezorz!
SEND THIS CHILD TO THE MOON!
*child sent to moon*
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
and this is why Twilight was chosen...
Hell yes. My library needs one of these. Or the OBEY one.
ReplyDeleteEPIC, anyone know where you can get these posters? I want some lol
ReplyDelete@Kill me, I'm a PONY
ReplyDeleteMichigan undergrad? Which university? I'm at U of M Ann Arbor.
This is amazing.
ReplyDeleteyes yes yes yes yes yes!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely the best thing ever.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteand 20% cooler
Wow. That's only 30 minutes away from me. Looks like I'm going there over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa, this is epic! I want one of those posters.
ReplyDeleteOn a more serious note, it's sad that so few kids really bother to read anymore. I've always loved reading; heck, I have more books than I do space to keep them, and I refuse to buy an eReader. Granted, I don't expect everyone to be into reading as much as I am, but I have to shake my head whenever I see my sister and her friends recoil from a book like it's the plague.
.... Squee!
ReplyDeleteWant!
This makes me proud to live in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteps I live in Medina County. That's the one north of Wayne.
Hmmm... Time to make a sorta-short road trip north.
ReplyDeleteFFS, all my school has is fuckin' Twilight posters, and everybody is somewhat fine with that.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I'm not influential enough, otherwise I'd try to get the librarians to replace them with a READ poster or two.
Yep wee need MLP fanfics in every library, i bet those will be read by people that even dont get into libraries.
ReplyDeleteBronies Forever!!!
Vote Twilight Sparkle.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAssuming you mean the original image that the poster is made from, you'll want the Equestria Election deviantArt page.
Also, this just made my day, and I want that poster in my room. And a BIDE one.
I need a judge to put up Celestia's OBEY poster right behind him. Only then will I respect him.
ReplyDeleteI know just who to call.
ReplyDeleteI am actually pretty surprised.
ReplyDeleteTotally taking a road trip to see it.
I also love how much more the Twilight poster "pops" than the other three, which are so visually busy they just fade into the wall. The bold, clean lines of the READ poster, on the other hand, draw attention much more effectively; overall, it's just a better poster. I find this both awesome and highly amusing.

>>> Wooster, Ohio
Dammit.
CONFOUND THIS FANDOM.
ReplyDeleteALL IT EVER DOES IS WIN.
My high school's library could use some pony to replace those ratty, outdated ones they have.
ReplyDeleteSo who put this up there? Did a brony offer to put it up, or did the owner/librarian do it themselves?
ReplyDeleteI work in two different libraries. Why haven't I done this already? Oh yeah, because they'd probably fire me... I'll find some way.
ReplyDeleteMy friend just got fired from his job at the library.....I missed my chance. ;_;
ReplyDeleteI almost want to drive from Columbus just to see this.
ReplyDeleteI work at a library! I MUST make this happen!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
Yes, do it! Spread the friendship.
Awesome!
ReplyDeletehttp://equestria-election.deviantart.com/
ReplyDeleteThis poster should be mandatory in all public libraries. Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteThat looks like it might be in someone's library office. Regardless, it would be a good idea and deed to print and frame one and donate it to your local library. For Bronydom!
ReplyDelete*I'm sitting in a library with this poster, reading a book*
ReplyDelete*Cute Girl sits down across from me*
*Cute Girl clears throat*
*I don't respond*
Cute Girl : "Um, well, I see you're reading one of my favor--"
Me *METAL GROWL* : "I'M READING A BOOK, BITCH! I'M READING A BOOK!!!" *points at Twilight Sparkle* "DON'T YOU EVER INTERRUPT ME WHEN I'M READING A BOOK!!!!"
*Cute Girl runs away confused and crying*
Fuckyeah.jpg
Reading Raaaiiinnnnnboooowww Dash
ReplyDeleteThat is SO awesome. Let's see if anyone notices!
ReplyDeletePriceless ;_;
ReplyDeleteI hate reading... now I want to read...
ReplyDeleteThe juxtaposition is pretty good, there's three generic posters from the 80's-90's that look encouraging, and then there's this unicorn giving you the "pick up a book NOW damn it" look.
ReplyDeleteThey Are two different posters, one has a white frame the other has a blue frame. Also..I'm calling my library in the morning to request that also do this.
ReplyDeleteThis is made out of 100% win :D
ReplyDeleteI'd say that this is making it the best library in the whole wide world, not only USA (unless we're using stereotypes and say that Americans think USA is only country in the world but I hope not)
ReplyDeleteThat is too cool
ReplyDeletesuddenly have an overwhelming urge to browse through some fanfiction.
I'm suddenly out of work, so I might just start hanging out at the library with pony on my laptop.
ReplyDeleteAs a librarian, I approve of this. I work at a Community College library, though, so this would be hard to put up in mine...
ReplyDeleteOhio confirmed for completely insane. In the awesome way.
ReplyDelete"My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic" has changed the world! :D
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! I'm the guy who made the poster. I was asked a few weeks ago by an employee of the library if they could do this. I said yes, and insisted that photos be taken. I'm very proud that my poster might just encourage someone to hit the books, and very pleased to see how much you all like it!
ReplyDeleteYou can see the original, and my other pony posters at http://equestria-election.deviantart.com/
I'm there now. It says "By Equestria-Election" and lists the web address.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I would take a trip out there, but I'd probably just get kicked out, what with all the cheering and jumping around I'd be doing. I want this in my library.
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the READ poster, dropped it into Graphic Converter (thereby making my Mac 20% cooler) and brought up the info screen.
ReplyDeleteYOW! The resolution is 1200 X 1200 dpi.
That should enlarge just fine to a reasonable poster size.
Assuming the staff at Kinko's won't balk at printing a copyrighted/trademarked character.
it will be cool if you take a tour trip on the pentagon and you see a big poster of celestia saying OBEY now that will be epic!!!
ReplyDeleteWith an Authority Figure like Twilight, who WOULDN'T want to Read... ;P
ReplyDeleteActually, the photograph with the 4 posters in a row is at the Dalton, OH branch of the Wayne County Public Library. The close-up was taken in Doylestown, I think... but all seven branches in the Wayne County system should have one hanging somewhere... including the Main branch in Wooster.
ReplyDeleteI work in that library system, and was the guy that asked Vote (a couple posts up) for permission to hang these. =D Make sure to check out their Deviant page!
Also... sup /b/ronies?
@Larva
ReplyDeleteActually, the close-up IS the one in Wooster.
WANTS DIGITAL PIC OF THIS!!!
ReplyDelete@LarvaWould you mind then telling us what is written in fine print at the bottom right of the poster?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI already posted that. It says "By Equestria-Election Used With Permission", then lists the address for the deviant-art page.
@OtakuX
ReplyDeleteOh cool. I thought that was one of the shots I sent Equestria-Election. Didn't notice you were actually here locally. Hi! =D
I think they're preparing to do some Twilight Sparkle papercraft now, at least in Wooster. (Something else they found on DeviantART.) Handouts for the Teen room, perhaps... I don't know for sure yet.
I have sucessfully infected our library with pony fever! Bwaahhahahahaha! (Now I just have to hope I don't get fired for it. Bwahaahahha--- wait... oh.)
@anon
Yep. The text is just giving credit to the artist, and their deviant url, full of pony awesome... it's been posted a few times before, but here it is again:
http://equestria-election.deviantart.com/
Where can I buy this?
ReplyDeleteSaw this in my library here in Colorado. Greatest moment ever!
