Pretty sure this shouldn't have the "Not-Fanfiction" tag, Seth.
ReplyDelete^ It's not fanfiction. This is a script to an episode for next season. TRUE FACTS.
ReplyDelete"Rainbow Dash's Voyeuristic Adventure! The Wonderbolts Daily Lives Revealed!"
ReplyDeleteUh Rainbow, harassing the wonderbolts isn't gonna make them want to let you join.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteIt's not stalking. Think of it like an animal documentary... We just "observe" them...
I just noticed Tenchi wrote this.
ReplyDeleteHoly fuck I'm giong to read it now.
whats this doing on the non fanfict page?
ReplyDelete*reads first 2 comments*
ReplyDeleteWait... this is a season 2 episode script?
*opens document*
...Looks like a fanfic to me...
This is currently labled "Not Fanfiction." Fix this for those of us who use the "No fanfiction mode."
ReplyDeleteHa ha! She don't remember Fluttershy, does she?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous Was Fluttershy even IN that episode? Twilight, Dash, Applejack and Rarity were, but I'm not certain Pinkie and Fluttershy were.
ReplyDeletePinkie and Fluttershy were both in the crowd when Trixie was performing on stage, and Pinkie was also standing right next to Trixie in the scene after Twilight got rid of the Ursa. Neither of them said anything.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I say that learning both of those facts after I had written most of the chapter caused lots of swearing on my end.
The FOUR residents of Ponyville? ಠ_ಠ
ReplyDeleteWhy is this rated so low? Did a bunch of non-fanfic readers get saddlesore that it showed up in non-fanfic mode and downvote it?
ReplyDeleteI mean, come on! This is 5+ star stuff!
Wait till you see part 2 =)
ReplyDeleteNice job Toro!
See, I toldya it'd get posted right away. :P
ReplyDelete@DerpyDoopy
ReplyDeleteAlso, how is a 4 star considered a bad rating? Are bronies generally generous with their star giving?
@DerpyDoopy
ReplyDeleteExtremely.
@Anonymous-4:23am
ReplyDeleteThen perhaps we need a new scoring system or something...
@ DerpyDoopy
ReplyDeleteIt was rated about 3.4 when I made the comment. Also, ratings are always VERY high--just look at the sheer number of star-6 stories out there.
...And I just realized my first comment posted as Anon. Ah, well, I was 11:00 if that wasn't clear.
ReplyDelete@Chris
ReplyDeletePart of that is that your story has to be pretty good to make it past the pre-readers in the first place. The barrier to entry in high enough that anything that makes it over is usually good enough for a 4-star rating anyway.
The other part is that I think a lot of us refrain from "voting down." If we like a story, we'll throw out four or five stars, but if we don't like it, we'll just leave the rating alone. Just part of the developing culture.
"Green slime dumped on their heads"
ReplyDeleteGood lord, did you just make an UhOh reference?!
"it rhymed with avocado"
"computer mouse"
I don't get it. What's his name really?
One more thing:
ReplyDelete"So that the only three names that come up are Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, or Twilight Sparkle"
Learn to count, Trixie dear.
I believe it meant that there's three contestants and that the only ones allowed have to be from those four.....the sentence should be restructured to make it more clear, yes.
ReplyDelete@Escher
ReplyDeleteIt was actually supposed to be a reference to the little game shows segments that Nickelodeon used to do in the commercials for their afternoon TV shows, but I suppose that works to.
As far as the name of the colt, that was a little running gag in-joke I wrote for my pre-readers. A parody of self-insert stories, if you will.
I'm finishing Chapter 2 as I type this, so as soon as I finish everything up I'll shoot it over to Seth.
Awwww... Happy ends all around! ^_^
ReplyDeleteYou know, it's true. My first instinct when watching Boast Busters was that it was the mane cast that were the real jerks in that episode when they started heckling Trixie. I mean, that's the point of being a showman is to be big and boisterous in the first place. So finally seeing this perspective in a fanfic is really nice, and I'm glad it all worked out for everypony :)
Warm Fuzzies
"dark matter butterflies"
ReplyDeleteSomewhere, Physics Brony is proud of that reference...
Great fanfiction, I really enjoyed it a lot, especially the numerous references you made. It seemed a bit rushed in the end, but I didn't mind that and in a way, kind of appreciated it.
ReplyDeleteAgain, great story considering it was your first one. Looking forward to more stories from you. And some of the best things come from dreams.
OH MY LORD!
ReplyDeleteYou referenced a certain physics presentation... how Meta can you get!? =D
Hmm. It wraps up things nicely, but yeah... I don't know. It just feels there could have been a bit more to things. Eh, whatever. It works, I laughed at dark matter butterflies and I enjoyed the story.
ReplyDeletePinke Pie is so Meta, and I love her explanation to how she rigged the final round. It's one of those situations that the answer raises even more questions and makes you even more mind boggled.
ReplyDelete>implying Trixie will ever be anything more than a laughing stock
ReplyDeleteStretching the Pinkie Pie there.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, quite charming.
I normally can't stand fanfics as they are usually written by people who don't know how to write a good story and probably didn't pay attention in English class, but this one was very good. It would make a fine episode. It also made me realize that the mane characters and Trixie wouldn't have started off on the wrong hoof had RD not started heckling her and the others supporting their friend.
ReplyDelete@ Stephen Cawking:
RD and Applejack have already shown that they can be violent with each other. Would it really be surprising to see them get violent with someone who had embarrassed them twice.
Hmm. I didn't really like the wrapup. Pretty heavy-handed having Twilight just explain everypony's feelings aloud like that. It felt... well, exactly like the most awkward Letter To Celestia segments from the show, which are by far the worst aspect of the program.
ReplyDeleteI liked the story to that point but the ending was kind of painful.
