Author: The Mysterious Pony

What she gets is an answer far more than she had bargained for. An answer that is not only great and powerful but unimaginably bittersweet. ReplyDeleteCongratulations, you just won one free straightjacket!
There's something terribly amusing over the fact that the damn thing was sitting on google docs for about a week now, but the moment it's actually posted onto Equestria Daily...
ReplyDeleteSeth and Cereal need to do away with their update time restrictions. Just post the damn thing when it appears! Why bother waiting a week just for that empty space in the posting schedule?!!?!?!
ReplyDeleteBLAHGARBL
@Crimson Valor
ReplyDeleteWasn't just the update time restrictions, it needed to be pre-read, and before that he wanted to check out what various people (including me)thought of it...
Oh, for now:

<-I found it on his DeviantArt page just now, so here's a backup link.
@Crimson Valor
ReplyDeleteThe update schedule is there to help keep stories on the top page longer. We do this stuff for a reason and because it helps the site and the authors more than just posting everything as soon as we get it. Ponies would never notice half this stuff!
But hey, this is a nice story, isn't it? How about we all enjoy the corrected link and get back to reading instead of complaining, hm?
What Esper said.
ReplyDeleteI had to confirm it was ok with the authors, and have it pre-read.
Believe me... you don't want me to dump my stories in review folder here. It's filtered for a reason.
Well, it started out really strong.
ReplyDeleteHowever, personally I feel that when Trixie starts narrating most of the emotion is drained from the story and the pace really drops. Mostly because of the vocabulary. Its understandable, Trixie is a show mare after all, but because of it the story just doesn't do much for me on an emotional level.
Wait, did someone just suggest we post everything Seth receives the moment he receives it?
ReplyDelete...hoo boy. Think I'm gonna go screencap my inbox real quick, just for demonstrative purposes.
awww.... sad fic :C
ReplyDeleteI want to see more.
ReplyDeleteConfound this series. its making me wish midnight was canon and is pushing Trixie up the ranks
*And then Rose came along*
ReplyDeleteHa-HA! I knew I wasn't the only one inspired by EsperDerek and Phoe!
I have this bookmarked now. I'll read it when I get off from work.
If you ever visit ponychan, I'm samurai jack there.
ReplyDeleteI can't write all I want to say about this right now due to lack of time but I would like to say this makes me very happy.
I shall be putting my review on this later.
Five stars for the story, but I've spotted something odd:
ReplyDelete"lay asleep when the stars of Luna's Night blazed overhead".
At this point in time, Luna hasn't been released yet, so why would it be referred to as "Luna's Night"?
You raise a good point.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is that I've always kind of assumed that nopony knew Luna and Nightmare Moon were the same entity (remember that Twilight and co were surprised to discover that Luna was Celestia's sister) and, as Luna only really came out during the night before her return, Celestia was able to keep that she was banished a secret by taking charge of night herself. Feeling guilty for having to banish her sister, she continued calling it Luna's Night to honor her. Therefore Trixie, and many other Equestrians, would assume that the beauty of each night was still being woven by Luna.
It seems like a plausible explanation to me. I don't think it's contradicted by anything in any of the episodes.But then I may be wrong. If it is, let me know.
I'm glad that everypony's enjoying this so far.
@The Mysterious Pony OH SHIT, THERE'S AN EXPLANATION FOR IT!
ReplyDeleteWell played, very very well played. I think that "mistake" might've been my only gripe with this. Looking forward to more parts.
