I dig how to picture goes off the strip here.
ReplyDeleteYah, I was going to fix that bit it's kind of cool.
ReplyDeleteWhoa.
ReplyDeletethe image spilling out of frame is great!
ReplyDeleteIt's totally cool.
ReplyDeleteCelestia is breaking the Blog Wall
ReplyDeletedat celestia
ReplyDeleteDat Celestia...
ReplyDelete"Art thou furious, sidebar?"
ReplyDeleteThat picture looks epic leaving the frame.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, I broke the blog.
ReplyDeleteYay, the image is cool!
ReplyDelete@Cereal Velocity
ReplyDeleteYes but you looked cool doing it.
Problem, sidebar?
ReplyDeleteUh, nope, actually. Looks pretty damn good over here next to the edge of the browser.
...really?
Yep. Wish this had happened sooner!
Long Celestia is long.
ReplyDeleteNext time, make Pinkie Pie trot out !
ReplyDeleteWow. I am a fan of this breaking-the-sidebar thing! Also, Pinkie needs to do that, stat. :D
ReplyDeleteLong tail is loooong.
ReplyDeleteWant more-right now.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for a prologue. I'd like to see a lot more length in the next chapter.
Either Pinkie or Derpy needs to break the blog wall.
ReplyDelete@B.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being the first one to comment on the story. I'll try to make it longer but no promises, I wouldn't want to drone on. Also, there won't be another chapter until the end of June
Commenting because of that image breaking the fourth well. Swayed me to read this fanfic.
ReplyDelete@Ryan
ReplyDeleteYay :D. Thank you Cereal for getting me at least one reader.
Looking forward to seeing future chapters.
ReplyDeleteWow, did it really take a full 18 comments to get to the actual story? That's kinda sad, actually. Are people really that blinded by the slightest shiny oddment that they- OH MY GOD, THERE'S A BLUEJAY ON MY WINDOWSILL!
ReplyDelete*ahem*
Read the first bit, it's very good. I'll have more comments when I read the rest later. I'm busy looking at this Bluejay at the moment.
Just finished reading Chapter 1:
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a fanfic reader, but I'm warming up after reading a few chapters of the Luna Vs fanfics (which is my introduction to reading FiM fanfics). Like what B. said, it needs a bit more substance for us to enjoy. Something filling indeed.
Just a question or two:
Does the story take direction of telling the story of how both Celestia and Twilight Sparkle met, and go on interacting each other as the years pass by before Twilight Sparkle got her cutie mark, or after that?
How do they know each other a thousand years ago? Twilight Sparkle should've been born way, waaay after Princess Celestia's birth. There must something that has to be explained, and if it is; I would like to hear it through reading a chapter of that explanation.
Overall, I have it bookmarked now. I look forward to more of this story dear writer. Right now, I'm preoccupied with other things at this time. Tis finals!
A nice beginning. I will check back to see how it progresses.
ReplyDelete@Ryan
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it. The story will follow Celestia as she makes her first friends and, eventually, will explain the story behind Nightmare Moon's rise to power.
The Twilight in the past isn't the same as the Twilight in the present (or should that be the more recent past?).
You've got finals too? I must say that they suck.
@Cony the Pony
ReplyDeleteI like the development here, and the swap of the social awkwardness between (modern pony era) mentor and pupil. Do you have an email address you'd be willing to share (my email is linked here, I believe)?
@Sordid Euphemism
ReplyDeleteI might be willing to share, may I ask why?
NAYC
ReplyDelete@Cony the PonyI could have sworn I had posted this elsewhere, not EQD, but it's a moot point now.
ReplyDeleteThere were some small phrases and frames of reference that were confusing in the 2nd draft, but those have been resolved now.
I really enjoy this story, and look forward to its progress. Thanks for writing it!
I don't really get into fan fiction, but a month ago, I didn't think I'd be into ponies either. Anyway, I love the story, and can't wait for the next installments. Just wondering, with celestia talking about seeing twilight again, is it really the same twilight? A reincarnation or something? I was a little unsure about that.
ReplyDeleteOK, so Twilight Sparkle seems to be a sort of reincarnation of the former Twilight Sparkle.
ReplyDeleteAncient Sparkle has a group of 4 friends and now has brought a 5th into the mix, the filly, Princess Celestia. Where have we seen this???
We have Violet, the pink maned violet earth pony with impeccable styling and a haughty attitude.
There's the flustered Dragonfruit, a brown earth pony with blue mane.
We have the white pegasus with a light blue mane, Rainburst, who seems to have an impulsive mouth and need to hover even when indoors.
Finally, we have Flora, the blond maned, green pegasus who seemed to instantly realize who their guest was.
I could be wrong, but my interpretation came out as follows...
Twilight Sparkle = Twilight Sparkle
Violet = Rarity
Flora = Pinkie Pie
Dragonfruit = Fluttershy
Rainburst = Rainbow Dash???
Umm... Does that mean Princess Celestia better get buckin' them there apples???
---
The only one I wasn't sure of was Rainburst. She could certainly be an Applejack too, with her very friendly and down home style welcoming demeanor... In which case Celestia better get with raising the sun so she can get those wings. Then she can lay down some sweet tricks and pull off a double sonic rainboom, all the way across the sky!
@richfiles
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't want to ruin anything, but I did base the some of the characters on the mane six. You got two right anyway.
>We’re going to the clubhouse of the world famous-” Twilight took a moment to strike a pose, “Cutastically Fantastics”
ReplyDelete-Heh, recycling one of the other CMC's name. ;)
It does sounds good.
... and I see that ''History tends to repeat itself'' is going on here ;).
With the 6 ponies (kinda same, but swapped personalities) : 2 pegasi, 2 Earth, 2 Unicorns (2 for now ;)).
I kinda like Dragonfruit's name. :) ...
>She tried to She stared up at the moon
-I suppose there's a wording error there ?
So far, it's a nice little story. :)
@Nova25
ReplyDelete"She tried to She stared up at the moon"
Fixed, thanks
Just read, enjoyed the story!
ReplyDeleteThe story is very promising, but it's not getting anywhere yet. Is there still more coming?
ReplyDelete>“No, it says that six ponies claimed that they used the Elements to defeat the Nightmare
ReplyDelete-Huh... the Nightmare ? It's far before the events of Nightmare Moon, so... Is it a reference to one of the old pony series ?
>the guard’s name was Lance
-Hmmm... I wonder what's the origin of that pony... I mean, I heard that name quite a few times in other stories, and each time he was a guard/royal guard at the service of Celestia. Sometimes with the job to keep an eye on young-Twilight.
>Mother and Father decided to allow me to continue visiting my friends, but only if I wore a disguise
-Me think they know ''something'', and that it involves 'Celestia's 5 friends', 'the Elements', and 'friendship'. ;)
>after I couldn’t use it anymore you inherited it, so I don’t really need to tell you how it worked.
-Luna is normally, naturally Black... it is NOT because of an vulgar helmet's spell that she's black.
*IF* that's what is implied here... Surely not, right ?
Still at chapter 3? Awww…
