    2. It would be nice to see a sequel with the actual party. Are you going to do it?

    3. I would love to see what happens as well. Maybe just maybe one more chapter? :)

    4. Oh, I *DEFINITELY* want to see more of this story!!!

    5. It's an interesting, informative format. :)

The way it's told, alternating between book and notes is quite good.

    7. I don't want to disappoint people, but it's unlikely I'll write a followup. If there is any sequel, it won't be a party, as my only other fic idea is [Adventure][Sad] and possibly [Grimdark]. That one wouldn't have to be tied to this but I'll want to reuse some duality concepts and maybe explore Celestia's and Luna's parents.

    8. I would recommend at least four stars, and probably five. For a backstory that really should become canonical.

Daetrin has tied up the loose ends of Celestia, Luna, and what happened 1000 years ago better than any other I've read on the subject, and does not shy away from Celestia and Luna being GODS -- with all that entails.

What I found especially poignant was the choice Celestia faced as an immortal among mortals. Whether to isolate and insulate herself from bonding with mortals only to have them age and die over and over and over -- and end up an distant indifferent goddess isolated in her loneliness or go mad like Nightmare Moon -- or take the pain of loss again and again with each and every generation and "stay human".

In the old days, she took the first choice. At least until Nightmare Moon showed her where that could lead, with the isolated Celestia unable to bring back her sister, only seal her away and wait for mortals who could wield the Elements (in relationship with one another, not single-hooved).

And how neither sister could prevail completely over the other; one alone would end the world in darkness, the other in fire.

Well, that's the most highest possible praise I can imagine. Especially since I did want to write something that could be canon not just by fitting with the existing canon, but by wrapping up every loose end and using the same themes it has.

Despite my protestations above, I am doing another fic. It's not directly related to this one but kind of assumes this one happened. It's canonicity isn't as tightly wrapped, though.

    10. This post has far too little comments for such an amazing story! So I give you plus one canon and 5 stars.

    11. This story deserves far more comments then it's gotten. It's easily 5-stars IMHO, and not just for my love of backstory that Daetrin has filled in here so expertly, but for the way it builds on what we we've seen in the show of the characters of Celestia and Nightmare Moon/Luna.

    12. I agree that this story deserves more attention. The added lore on the princesses is very interesting and gives them more depth. It fits so well into the universe that I'll count it as canon myself. Definitely a 5-star fic.

    13. That was very nice. Especially the narration, I really like your style.
