    2. Now I can memorize even more songs that will make my friends facepalm! =D

      VastaKustuta
    3. Hush Now, Quiet Now is in Ab Major, and it modulates to Bb Major in Sweetie's portion.

      Ha! Nope.

If we keep on the same pace we're going, in 5 years, we'll have Brony churches setup that will have hardbound copies of these as Hymns.

    5. But I like listening to there terrible singing D:

    6. What is this promotional version of the theme song that I see?

      VastaKustuta
    7. Oh, and the CMC theme is in Bb Minor, not Db Major.

Still, it's a nice compendium for those who wish to sing along.

      VastaKustuta
    8. I still don't hear "drifting" in Hush Now, Quiet Now.
      Nice compilation though.

    9. CB here.

@ B. : Making the requested key changes.

@ Anonymous (1st Post): I'll see if I can fit it in without too much trouble.

      VastaKustuta
    10. @CrayolaBrony

      Very cool!

I came across as kind of mean up there and for that I apologize.

      VastaKustuta
    11. @B. : No worries man. You guys want the best, and I want to deliver. It's a lot like the Art of the Dress (which was definitely in my head on multiple occasions as I was constructing this beautiful behemoth, hehehe).

Also, pdf updated! It's the EXACT same link ('cuz DropBox is smart like that), so that's good.

@PurpleFoxTail: Hey, its ok! They can still sing off-key (and hey, I love 'em for it, too), its just that NOW, the words are all fully available in one document.

      VastaKustuta
    12. How do you guys just know the key of various songs? Like what is there to look for?

      I'm so confused.

      VastaKustuta
    13. @Anonymous (3:36pm): I had some help from some awesome bronies who play instruments like the piano/violin/etc, and who also know music theory. They gave me a LOT of the keys.

I'm also somewhat musically-inclined myself, but I can't sight-read (hence the need for help). So, when the project was stuck in development hell (that is, remaining keys were still missing), I used an online pitch pipe and tried to match the keys as best I could, while listening to the YT vids of the songs.

Hope that's a satisfactory answer for ya! :)

      VastaKustuta
    14. Actually, it probably isn't all that good of an answer. But I'm sure there's some good online tutorials of how to find signature keys. I would imagine one wouldn't have to look too far...

      VastaKustuta
    15. Aw, come on! It's Giggle at the Ghostly, not Ghostie. Don't perpetuate this way too common error, please. :-P

      VastaKustuta
    16. @ The Crook: Alright, alright, I'll fix it... easy now... hehehe

      VastaKustuta
    17. Where can one find the Promotional version of the theme tune?

      VastaKustuta

The FIM Wikia included that version in the lyrics for the opening theme, so I thought I'd throw it in too.

      VastaKustuta
    19. Okay, Rainbow Dash's part of the Gala song is definitely not in G-Sharp Major. I can confirm this with a source from the man himself:

      http://i51.tinypic.com/2506uix.png

And the finale to the Gala song is in C-sharp major (or D-flat major, whatevers). That's just by ear, but I'm quite certain it's right.

      VastaKustuta
    20. @ Anonymous (4:12 pm):

Fixed the finale, but why does the pic you linked show him saying G#m right at the start of his comment? *Confused*

      VastaKustuta
    21. Oh, dear. Now I need to learn to sight-sing!

      VastaKustuta
    22. @CrayolaBrony

It just starts out on a minor chord. Maybe you don't know this (it is a bit confusing for those unaware) but chord names accompanied by 'm' at the end indicate minor chords.

So even though it starts out on the relative minor, we can see that the only chords that are major in that progression are B, E, and F-sharp. E and F-sharp are the major fourth and fifth (respectively) of B.

Long story short, I'd vote B major as the key, or maybe G-sharp minor (but the melody doesn't sound particularly minor to me, so that's probably not right).

Sorry if I'm coming off as sort of pedantic. I've just spent a lot of time picking apart this particular song. =D

      VastaKustuta
    23. @ Star Whistle: Not necessarily! The song keys are there for the people who happen to bring along pitch pipes, guitars, or other instruments. As a casual singer, you don't HAVE to adhere to the keys...

      VastaKustuta
    24. @ Anonymous (4:27pm):

No worries, thanks very much for your help!

Since its not all that minor, and B Major is the main key of the song, I'll just drop that key change from RD's part.

    25. @Anonymous junior speedsters are our lives skybound soars and daring dives

to someday be the very best!

      VastaKustuta
    26. I just sang the whole songbook with no background music! Must´ve sounded horrible :P
      Thanks for making this.

      VastaKustuta
    27. @ Marcoooootje1: You're welcome! Glad you like it. ^^

      VastaKustuta
    28. Now all we need is sheet music.

      VastaKustuta
    29. @ Lazarus:

Sheet music for a few of the songs (not all of them) can be found at everyponysings.com. So yeah, its happening!

      VastaKustuta
    30. Nice, but the addition of chords could actually make this useful. Thanks for the hard, tho.

      VastaKustuta
    31. @ DerpyGrooves:

The decision to not include the guitar chords was a toss-up at first. However, after seeing that everyponysings.com (and no, I'm not associated with them, I just know they're a good resource for this) has the chord sheets for a lot of the songs, I decided to assume that most dedicated guitar player bronies are already bringing their own chord sheets to meetups. Assuming isn't always the best option, but sometimes its a road you have to take if you don't want to double your workload.

      VastaKustuta
    32. Now if only there was a tempo (bpm), that's the only thing keeping me from doing all of the remixes.

      VastaKustuta
    33. @The Crook But it is "Ghosty"... Go and listen to her say it a few dozen times in a row and you'll hear there's no "L" there.

      VastaKustuta
    34. This is a nicely done project!

@CrayolaBrony I'm one of the bronies who works on Everypony Sings. I would love to colaborate with you if you wanna include guitar chords in your songbook. If you want, send me an email, and we can talk more about it. everyponysings[at]gmail[dot]com

    35. Oh mah lord, yes <3

      VastaKustuta
    36. I am so so SO happy about this! I've been thinking about beginning transposing one of these myself, and here it is already!
Now stony brook university may truly get to have a winter wrap up of its own!

      VastaKustuta
    37. Update:

      1. Chorus-2nd Version tweaked for Winter Wrap-Up
      2. Some lyrics re-formatted into columns to save whitespace/neatness reasons
      3. Result: 20 pages instead of 21.

The latest version is still in the same link.

      VastaKustuta
    39. I guess that means we need to figure out the notes for ourselves...

      VastaKustuta
    40. @Cinder

Ideally, the goal is to have a full sheet-music songbook sometime in the future. I would personally LOVE to get it done, but seeing as how I don't have the knowledge of music theory OR the skills (just the drive to organize and make words look pretty), it won't happen all that quickly.

When that will actually happen is anypony's guess, because as it stands right now, we only have sheet music for... 7 out of the 18 total songs for Season 1. And while 7 is a good number, we still need rather large resources (other bronies' help) to get it done, especially if we want to release it before Season 2 airs (which starts another, more progressive, work cycle on getting lyrics, keys and chords done for the new material).

If you're able to help with that, it would be awesome. You can contact me through the dA link in my name!

    41. The word brony is used in the full version of Equestria Girls? *hasn't heard full version yet*

      Truly awesome! XD
