I honestly don't think Twilight Sparkle would know that word.
Maybe YESYESYESYESYESYES or 'I will now teleport Trixie to Sethisto as a sign of friendship'.
Here's what Applejack would say: Aw shoot that there billboard doesn't get my good side fer nothing.
My thoughts on what Pinkie would say: WOOHOO I'VE ESCAPED INTO THE REAL WORLD NOW VOTE FOR ME AND I'LL BE THE PARTY PRESIDENT. Or something along those lines.
I know this isn't brony-like, but I feel sorta satisfied now.
Imagine all the trolls and haters now being slammed in the face with a huge billboard of ponies ON THE ROAD, MWAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *instert mad Fluttershy laughter*
Hey Sith, Why don´t you ask for pics of all the billboards around US The Brony take over is happening Resistance is Futile Everyone will be assimilated into the herd
One more thing. This makes me want to jump out of my window (don't worry it's just 3 meter off the ground) land on the feet all matrix like, slowly looking up and yelling: "WORLD, YOU ARE BEING TAKEN OVER!! BOW DOWN TO THE BRONY POWA AT ONCE!! OR BE BRONIFIED!!!" I want everypony that feels this way to reply! CUZ WE'RE STARTING A REVOLUTION HERE!
@Lord Edward THAT'S THE SPIRIT MY FRIEND, WHOLE YUGOSLAVIA WILL BE BRONIFIED TOO, If my friends get infected, and the whole Yugoslavia is pretty stubborn, so it'll take time. But don't wory... sooon.... soooooooooooon....
@markocezar *salutes* Roger !!! I will cover your flank here from Hungary!!! We will hold our ground till the bronies take over the UK and can safely come over to the maneland !
@Anonymous I didn't know it either till someone pointed me to it. It's actually a pun for a movie this year called Bridemaids . Google it and check the poster, you will understand :) ((http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1478338/))
I live in da UP, for those of you that don't know what that means... I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan... anywhere you go is trees and nothing else... ಠ_ಠ... FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! I can never go see that in person.
Hub really is being so awesome to us. I can't help but think that this billboard is more intended to appeal to adult fans/attract new ones than it is to advertise to kids.
There is something I realized, just 80000 bronies aren't ashamed of being bronies. Here you have over 14 million hits, facebook just 80 thousand. DON'T BE ASHAMED OF YOUR RIGHT MIND, IF YOU LIKE YOU'LL SPREAD THE INFECTION MUCH FASTER! So LIKE if you want the domination. If you don't have a facebook, MAKE IT JUST FOR THIS. THIS HAS TO BE, NOT CONTINENTAL, but GLOBAL!
Yep, it's a pun - the movie poster it's based on is "Bridesmaids", and a "bridle" is a part of a horse's harness. Hence, bridle + Bridesmaids = Bridlemaids.
Ok ok for this I will take the 101 rather than I-5 something I have been doing anyway.. now I have a more legit reason... heeehehehe. This would make my day if I have to climb the Tejon/Grapevine from Colton.
Going by their size, relative to the door below them, they are about the size of a person. That is awesome. I want cutouts to stand around my house, lol.
Heck yeah! We do need one of these in Houston, so I can show all of my anti-Brony friends and watch them despair as they realize we are taking over this joint!
Right, I am so getting my dad to put on of these up in his office window, the UK needs one of these. I can imagine the faces of the chavs of Stoke On Trent now.
No one can say it is not real any more. Now we Just need one in Toronto and I would be super happy.
I just hope there are no accidents from people doing a double take looking at the billboard. And being next to a freeway exit people will have to notice it. They will say "What is this? Is this supposed to be My Little Pony?" They will be compelled to find out information about it watch the show with (or with out) their kids, become fans of the show and buy all the toys on the market. If Hasbro puts one (or one like it) in every major city they wont know what to do with all the money.
When I see this I can't help but think that Hasbro/The Hub are taking a page from the Brony handbook and creating pony mashup-parodies to advertise the show. "Equestria Girls" is basically a PMV only official. (Yes it was an act of acknowledgment/appreciation to the Bronies but it is still and ad ment to gather intrest in the show, and by extension the merchandise.) How many people here first took an intrest in the show after seeing some Youtube video?
Sure the billboard is not an accurate representation of the show, but it does not have to be, it IS an Ad, a billboard ad at that. Drivers are only going to get a quick look at it before driving by but that quick look will be all that is needed. Its purpose is to get your attention and make you want to find out more about what you just saw. And this billboard will do just that.
Epic billboard is epic. I would kill to have one of these on the east coast.
However, I dont need to kill. THEORETICALLY, i could save a copy of the base image, loose some sleep, and pay a visit to one of the two digital billboards around the corner from where I live. Theoretically. I have no idea how to hack into the billboards though. I hope however, that this post has inspired several nights of MLP-related billboard hacking.
Just do it the old fashioned way - print out tiny little bits of the image and paste it piece by piece onto the billboard of you choice. All you need is several days, gallons of toner, and a bucket of glue. Bonus points if you work in an office supply store and manage not to spend a dime on this endeavor!
@Anon who replied to me: That would imply that I had: A: access to a colour printer B: money to pay for printing C: glue and D: the ability to avoid the authorities for one to two days, maybe even three, while still putting up a complete billboard. So yeah, my best option would be to just hack. 'Sides, cops around here are pretty stiff. Lots of gangs in this area.
This is.. truly amazing. Not just because of, ya know, recognition by a major company of it's fringe demographic (which is quite possibly the primary audience by now), but.. think about it. We're getting a degree of love from Hasbro, whom co-own the Hub, so they're behind this.. which Transformers and G.I. Joe fans only rarely enjoyed..
>Frustrated over death of headphones. >Goes to Equestria Daily. >Sees this. >Happy now :) Also, give it a week or 2 and that town will be populated entirely by Bronies.
I'm thinking Hasbro's realized a couple of things.
1. Cartoons created as half-hour commercials for toys really don't work. 2. Shows that are good on their own merits sell merch anyway. 3. People between the ages of 15 and 30 tend to have more disposable income than people between the ages of 6 and 10.
That being said, I hope they leave the writers alone and don't try to turn FIM into Family Guy or something.
THAT being said, I don't think anyone would be complaining if they made some premiumer merch.
I think the sign is great! I love Anime and stumbled across HUB about 1 1/2 months ago. Yes I am a Broney and am 61 years old!!!! The art work, the stories, the sound effects and the wonderful ponys!!! I actually know some of them. My great aunt was Pinkie Pie! The songs are a lot of fun like Pinkie boinging around singing about the gala. I also loved "The art of the dress". Who ever wrote the song actually knows sewing!! I just busted a gut when I saw the billboard. Hara! I am in the works of DVDing the whole set of stories. I hate to tell ya how many times I have watched them already! Thank you so much Lauren Faust!!!!!!! Big hugs from all of us.I can't wait for the second season!!!!! If you would like to check some fantastic Anime look into Five centimeters per second-Figure 17-Gunslinger Girl-Samurai Champloo-Kino's journey-I My Me Strawberry eggs-Air-Chance Pop-Somedays Dreamer-Eden of the East-Oban Star racers-Spice and Wolf -Millennium actress-anything from studio gihbli. In the box sets from them is a story called "Only Yesterday" about farming in Japan. A true beauty of a story. Jeffcat
As an editor/admin on Wikipedia and trying to improve the MLPFIM article, if whomever took these images (or can take these) would be willing to release one or more into the Creative Commons (showing the board no larger than these photos have it), I can certainly use that image on the MLPFIM article.
Holy crap. They're actually doing this. They're actually consciously, actively going after an older demographic for MLP. Not just relying on our word-of-mouth, but actually advertising in a way to grab the attention of more than just 10 year old girls.
inb4 bronies moving there. The only thing they could have done to make the it better is Pinkie's head sticking outside of the billboard, breaking the 4th wall as usual :P
Man, I wish I lived in that house just behind and to the right of the billboard, I'd get somebody to take a picture from the street with me on the balcony...
Hasbro should totally offer this as a poster and a T-Shirt. And do more parodies! How about one called "Horse" (parody of "House") or of course "Dr. Hooves" (Dr. Who)?
I've just noticed something... I've been saying "That's the most awesome thing ever" a lot recently. And, for the last several weeks, every time I've said it, it's been something pony-related :P So, yes, that's the most awesome thing ever :D

ReplyDeleteCurses, I'm in LA but no where near that. Still, I feel a weekend trip needs to be made.
ReplyDeleteOh, now there is an event idea. Get a bunch of bronies to take a picture with the billboard in the background.
Everyone: "And what, bitch?"
ReplyDeletePinkie: "I don't even know what's going on here!"
Am I the only one who expects it to be burnt down by someone?
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't think Twilight Sparkle would know that word.
ReplyDeleteMaybe YESYESYESYESYESYES or 'I will now teleport Trixie to Sethisto as a sign of friendship'.
Here's what Applejack would say: Aw shoot that there billboard doesn't get my good side fer nothing.

I'm beginning to wonder how those pony haters would react when they see this billboard.

GoogleMaps: http://is.gd/zWppeT
ReplyDeleteWe need to get this on the photos/street view of that!
Nothing quite puts a smile on your face like a billboard covered in Ponies.
ReplyDeleteI honestly expected to see a lot of confused pedestrians just staring up at it like "WTF?"
ReplyDeleteBesides that point, this is just awesome!
Hell yeah!
ReplyDeleteThis is fckin' awesome.
Too bad I live in England. :(
Guys guys guys. We need to ask Valhalla Motion Pictures how they feel about GIANT FREAKIN' PONIES above their offices.
ReplyDeleteSRSLY.
For those interested, the building's address is:
ReplyDelete3201 Cahuenga Boulevard West
Los Angeles, CA 90068-1301
Awwwyeah.jpg
ReplyDeleteNow these just need to multiply.
This billboard must be put in every major city across the U.S.
ReplyDeleteAnd a few in England and Germany once the show starts airing there.
This needs to pop up around the FL cities. I'd be happy, and will get teased for it.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to tell because digital billboards are very high quality these days, but...
ReplyDeleteIs this a digital billboard or the old fashioned kind? I'm hoping the latter, which means it'll be up longer! :)
So where are all of those anon's who were calling us "fucktards" for believing this, now?
ReplyDeleteand now waiting for the news story about how the billboard misrepresents the show.
ReplyDeleteinb4 it gets burnt down.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy has the best expression.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet merciful fuck, this if the best thing ever!!! I thought they were just BSing about it being on a billboard, but....holy shit.

ReplyDeleteI've never felt bad to live in New York, until now.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit they actually did it.
ReplyDeleteI no longer love Hasbro, I am IN love with Hasbro.
They need to put up more of these.
I would pay all of my money and then some if they were to sell the print on the billboard when they take it down.
It would be excellent siding for my house.

ReplyDeleteOnce I return to Bulgaria, I shall aid you in this endeavor! In fact, I've already converted one guy from Bulgaria over the Internet.
We need something like that here in St. Louis...
ReplyDeleteThe world will know!
ReplyDeleteOne more thing.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to jump out of my window (don't worry it's just 3 meter off the ground) land on the feet all matrix like, slowly looking up and yelling: "WORLD, YOU ARE BEING TAKEN OVER!! BOW DOWN TO THE BRONY POWA AT ONCE!! OR BE BRONIFIED!!!"
I want everypony that feels this way to reply! CUZ WE'RE STARTING A REVOLUTION HERE!
@Lord Edward
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S THE SPIRIT MY FRIEND, WHOLE YUGOSLAVIA WILL BE BRONIFIED TOO, If my friends get infected, and the whole Yugoslavia is pretty stubborn, so it'll take time. But don't wory... sooon.... soooooooooooon....

ReplyDeleteHub really is being so awesome to us. I can't help but think that this billboard is more intended to appeal to adult fans/attract new ones than it is to advertise to kids.
ReplyDeleteSo according to Google maps, it would take a day and 11 hours to get to this billboard from my home in Tennessee. *Ahem* ROAD TRIP!! :D
ReplyDeleteA bit strange that a billboard came up there. Is MLP made in LA?
ReplyDeleteThere is something I realized, just 80000 bronies aren't ashamed of being bronies. Here you have over 14 million hits, facebook just 80 thousand.
ReplyDeleteDON'T BE ASHAMED OF YOUR RIGHT MIND, IF YOU LIKE YOU'LL SPREAD THE INFECTION MUCH FASTER! So LIKE if you want the domination. If you don't have a facebook, MAKE IT JUST FOR THIS. THIS HAS TO BE, NOT CONTINENTAL, but GLOBAL!
dang it! i wish they displayed that here in mexico xD
ReplyDeleteawesomeness. it knows no bounds :D
ReplyDeleteI've never been so happy about a billboard before. And trust me, I've seen some pretty exciting billboards in my time.
@DJ Kat
ReplyDeleteDJ KAT!
Are you the DJ Kat from Paheal or did I just embarrass the hell out of you? If you are, thanks for all the pics.
@Anonymous Vancouver
ReplyDeleteScientologists only WISH they had this kind of power
ReplyDelete@zorinlynx
ReplyDeleteSo true. I've never been on a forum or messageboard for any tv show before now. Now, my hard drive is mostly pony fan art.
Here in Balkan we are 9 hours ahead, so... it comes... later... DUMB MATH!
ReplyDeleteJust liek dis mah bronies! http://memebase.com/2011/06/26/memes-ponies-are-contagious/
ReplyDelete@Anonymous (12:50 PM)
ReplyDeleteYep, it's a pun - the movie poster it's based on is "Bridesmaids", and a "bridle" is a part of a horse's harness. Hence, bridle + Bridesmaids = Bridlemaids.
This picture totally made my week. SO AWESOME.
Hoping to see one of these in Houston in the near future.
ReplyDeleteWorld... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbI0cMyyw_M&feature=related

ReplyDeleteI guess the next billboard above that studio should be a mix of the two!
Tis a good day to be a Bronie.
ReplyDelete@Aoshi Stark
ReplyDeleteEveryday!
:Yay!:
ReplyDeleteHonestly I think I'm stunned, I've never seen a cartoon advertised on a billboard before. And for it to be MLP...Well, thats just outstanding!

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT ONE IN DALLAS
ReplyDeleteWooooo... Or better yet...
ReplyDeleteEyup
Man... I'm some three hundred miles from LA.
ReplyDeleteWish I could, but I can't go see it...
I would die happy to see one of these in Boston!
ReplyDeleteBrony Pride Equestria Wide!

ReplyDeleteperdy shnazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis particular billboard is right next to Universal Studios. That's near the main freeway exit.
ReplyDeleteSo non-ponyfans are going to be exposed to this for months going in and out of Universal. it's BRILLIANT marketing I tells ya.
Heck yeah! We do need one of these in Houston, so I can show all of my anti-Brony friends and watch them despair as they realize we are taking over this joint!
ReplyDeleteSo show them photos of THIS one
ReplyDeleteIt IS a parody of BRIDESMAIDS, whihc surprisingly has 90% approval on Rottentomatoes.com
ReplyDeleteAll the positive reviews came from male critics. Coincidence? Maybe we should go see this movie. (Even though it LOOKS like a chick flick)
I live in Iowa. Oh god, they're never going to put something like that up in Iowa.
ReplyDelete:(
Right, I am so getting my dad to put on of these up in his office window, the UK needs one of these. I can imagine the faces of the chavs of Stoke On Trent now.
ReplyDeleteShaun, was that ENGLISH you just wrote? CHAV? Stoke on TRent? :}
ReplyDeleteat least you don't have to LIVE in Los Angeles. I hate it.
ReplyDeleteHmhmhm, I approve. ♥
ReplyDeleteI sorta miss living in LA now
ReplyDeleteThat really is one of the most amazingly awesome things ever.
ReplyDeleteWould love to see that in person!
No one can say it is not real any more. Now we Just need one in Toronto and I would be super happy.
ReplyDeleteI just hope there are no accidents from people doing a double take looking at the billboard. And being next to a freeway exit people will have to notice it. They will say "What is this? I bet they will make more
ReplyDeleteEPIC. I love everything just now. I'm having a good day.
ReplyDeleteTHE INTERNET IS LEAKING! ABANDON THREAD!
ReplyDeleteI live in the UK, but am going to LA soon on holiday. Will keep an eye out.
ReplyDeleteToo bad ponies couldn't stop the dragon from covering LA in a hundred year dark haze.
ReplyDelete*looks under the billboard.* That place is called Valhalla motion pictures, how ironic xD
ReplyDeleteIt's about time we got one of these
ReplyDeleteI agree with the 3 other guys that said we need one here in Houston. Hey, it's the 4th largest U.S. city (population-wise), after all.
ReplyDeleteOh lawdy.......
ReplyDeleteAssimilation is nearly coooommplleeettteee....
We need one in Dallas...
ReplyDeleteNow.
In the words of Rarity:
ReplyDelete"TAKE THAT RUFFIAN!"
Come on! Get one of these to San Francisco ASAP!
ReplyDeleteHopefully people won't look for a show called "Bridlemaids" on TV or something...
ReplyDeletei think this is advertising the show for adults, kids wouldn't get it. Does this mean Hasbro is recruiting Bronies?
ReplyDelete@Crimson Valor
ReplyDeleteI THINK SO
NEXT TO THAT GRAVEYARD PLACE THING
i drive by this shit daily
ReplyDeleteff- that bridge and that traffic xDDD
ReplyDeletewhoa that's awesome and that's in LA! They should also post one in every major city in the US! lol
ReplyDeletei'm extremely ok with this
ReplyDeleteEpic billboard is epic. I would kill to have one of these on the east coast.

Valhalla? BY ODINS BEARD, THIS IS GLORIOUS!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the address is
ReplyDelete3201 Cahuenga Boulevard West, Los Angeles, CA
Judging by google street view, it seems that the Hub advertises on that particular billboard fairly regularly.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDelete*PFFFFT!*
Just do it the old fashioned way - print out tiny little bits of the image and paste it piece by piece onto the billboard of you choice. All you need is several days, gallons of toner, and a bucket of glue. Bonus points if you work in an office supply store and manage not to spend a dime on this endeavor!
Ruling the world, one pony at a time....
ReplyDelete@Anon who replied to me:
ReplyDeleteThat would imply that I had:
A: access to a colour printer
B: money to pay for printing
C: glue
and D: the ability to avoid the authorities for one to two days, maybe even three, while still putting up a complete billboard.
So yeah, my best option would be to just hack. 'Sides, cops around here are pretty stiff. Lots of gangs in this area.
By Celestia, it's real! It's really real!
ReplyDeleteThis is.. truly amazing. Also, give it a week or 2 and that town will be populated entirely by Bronies.
I didn't think this would actually happen.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy =D
My question is: WHO put this up? Hasbro? Or did a fan pay big money?
ReplyDeleteCan a fan even do that?
@dark: anything is possible with enough cash...
ReplyDelete*Looks at sign below* Apparently ponies are above Valhalla. Good to remember when we're listing planes.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Hasbro's realized a couple of things.
ReplyDelete1. Cartoons created as half-hour commercials for toys really don't work.

Oh, google street view~ There's a street that needs updating~
ReplyDeleteAnd bring the Hubble cam, you're gonna need some extreme detail.
As an editor/admin on Wikipedia and trying to improve the MLPFIM article, if whomever took these images (or can take these) would be willing to release one or more into the Creative Commons (showing the board no larger than these photos have it), I can certainly use that image on the MLPFIM article.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. They're actually doing this. They're actually consciously, actively going after an older demographic for MLP. Not just relying on our word-of-mouth, but actually advertising in a way to grab the attention of more than just 10 year old girls.
ReplyDeleteI'm floored by this, I really am.
yay~
I would buy a billboard for our town out in nowhere Alberta-ville just so we could put that up and never take it down.
ReplyDeleteBrohooves all around!
ReplyDeleteinb4 bronies moving there.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing they could have done to make the it better is Pinkie's head sticking outside of the billboard, breaking the 4th wall as usual :P
Me and a couple friends are going to go down to it tomorrow and each leave one of our pony figures at the bottom of it.
ReplyDeleteok where in cali is that?
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I lived in that house just behind and to the right of the billboard, I'd get somebody to take a picture from the street with me on the balcony...
ReplyDeleteThis is the greatest thing I've ever seen
ReplyDelete@Masem
ReplyDeleteI'm the one who took the photos. What exactly do I need to do to release them to CC?
Is it real?
ReplyDeleteHoly mother of corn! :3
I can't believe it but yet the fact is exciting!

Yo quiero ir, pero vivo en Tijuana, ROAR TRIP CABRONIES!!!
ReplyDeleteHasbro should totally offer this as a poster and a T-Shirt. And do more parodies! How about one called "Horse" (parody of "House") or of course "Dr. Hooves" (Dr. Who)?

I've just noticed something... I've been saying "That's the most awesome thing ever" a lot recently. And, for the last several weeks, every time I've said it, it's been something pony-related :P
