Aw man! I though Ponies on the Moon would be a PMV of the awesome REM song Man on the Moon- instead it was whatever boring song that was. I demand REM and Ponies!
Hey, Shiny Happy People would make a GREAT pony video!
IT got a bit annoying after awhile and most people won't understand it unless they've seen the King of the Hill boggle episode. Still liked #3, though.
This is coming from somepony who hasn't actually watched Mr. Ed before, but if you think you're the only one who has then I'm afraid you're severely disillusioned.
#1 I don't like... ¬.¬ I was so excited to see ponified Smells like a teen spirit by Nirvana, why would you do this to me... US phoe?! I'm running and cryin' now. :'(
I loved the second one. It matched perfectly. 1st was ... eh. Third was okay. Though I wasn't amused by the creator of 1 and 2 downtalking the last vid. : /
#3: Yeah, this is actually pretty good. Especially liked the Mr. Ed part, dressing in drag and doing the hula, the Desert Riders, and Rise Greymon bits. But yeah, PENCYL! was annoying.
1. Slightly humorous. 2. RAINBOWS MAKE ME CRY! The singer was kind of annoying though. 3. Pretty lulzy, but gets kind of boring as it goes along. Liked the South Park bit the best.
#1: ...Okay, see, here's the problem. With an AMV (or PMV in this case), you have to go one way or the other. You either lipsync everything (with maybe a few cutaway scenes), and make it really TIGHT, or you don't lipsync at all and try to avoid lip-flapping scenes as much as possible.
This song is lyric heavy and therefore lends itself to lipsync rather than the other, but at the same time the lyrics are slow, so it's harder to sneak by with a lot of near-matches.
The scene matching is pretty funny, but when there is a lipsynced scene, the matching is loose at best (with a few exceptions, like the "mumbling and screaming" bit), and that kind of ruins it.
^ And actually you can get away with adding a couple cute lipsynced scenes in a mostly non-synced video, like if nothing was synced except Fluttershy's aforementioned scene, it's just that doing half and half almost never really works.
I was going to say I was disappointed at the use of the Weird Al version for the first one...but clearly I'm not the only one who wanted Kurt Cobain immortalized in pony lore...I guess it doesn't need to be said...

Wow, both my videos in a single post. I must be the luckiest Brony alive. And then Mr. Ed made them look like amateur hour.

ReplyDeleteProbably musk. Very musky.
Ponies makes Weird Al 20% cooler.

I was wondering when someone would finally make a Mr. Ed reference.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that #1 managed to make it on this site make me very sad :/

ReplyDeletefriggin awesome.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteHow was I downtalking it? I pretty much said I thought the 20 seconds of Mr. Ed was better than both my videos combined.
3rd video..... does anyone know what movie the skit with the 'monsters' is from?
ReplyDeleteMy curiosity is killing me DX
Aww, Lyra can't enjoy her sandwich now.
ReplyDelete@Zanzibar
ReplyDeleteIt's from Tremors. Read the description, dude. I always give sources for my skits.
#3 Thugs-4-Less. Win. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteThe last few clips in #3 had me laughing. From timon and pumbaa on. Good job :)
ReplyDeleteNever did get the whole pencil thing...
#1: Average. Moving on.
ReplyDelete#2: Is disapoint.

#3 - Man that Digimon part got me hard XDDD
ReplyDeleteThough #1 and #2 are okay, mostly #1 though

Damn, I hoped #2 would have been Whalers on the Moon from Futurama... so disappointed.
ReplyDelete#1 was great. I love that song.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting #2 to be Man on the Moon, also. Then I watched it and came to the conclusion that it was awesome regardless.
#3 lol'd hard at Ganondorf

ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. This was first my lipsynched PMV. As evidenced by the second video, I tend to go tight with my AMVs/PMVs.
Who could steal Lyras lunch!?!
