^ Awww. Maybe you're just watching all the bad ones. :D
Anyway, I was just thinking that, yeah, it's really not worth saving PMVs in any sort of archive format -- UNLESS you can institute some sort of 5-star rating system, where users rate each PMV and the highest-rated ones float to the top of the list.
But that's probably really hard or maybe not even possible with this blog software.
@Sun Ray Funny. I think greengrocer's apostrophes are the most annoying shit on the internet.
Either way, PMVs take as much effort as any other form of brony artistic expression, and people are contributing to the fanbase. Dislike it all you want, whine and bitch and moan, but seriously? Saying they need to die? Those are harsh words for people merely trying to entertain their fellow fans.
The first two were quite bad. Unclever arrangement of clips set to, or at least at the same time as, music that was unspeakably terrible. The last was ... inoffensive, and had some clever bits, though it held certain shots for far too long, attempting to let the video tell stories related better in the context of the show, or relying on knowledge of the show to explain the appropriateness of the clip. Lazy. Still, a C+, which beats the first two, which were about an F+.
The problem is that most of them are just random disconnected pony imagery with a song slapped on top. There's nothing impressive about it. Occasionally there's a rare gem amongst them where the it looks like the creator put in some hard work, but most of them look like any person could mash it together in five minutes.
@Sun Ray I have no problem with PMVs, it's only that I'm getting a bit weary of them. Only 26 episodes and it's really really difficult for anyone to create something truly unique by now.
But some of them are really great. I will never forget Ponycraft2, that one is a classic :)
I love that there's a U2 PMV somewhere, even if it's not all that good IMO. Party Rock ponies were something I was just saying should be made to a friend of mine like a month ago.
