"My Little Square Dance" is definitely in the top 10 of well-timed, creative and "in the spirit of the original source cartoon"! I really enjoyed this one. A lot of work went into finding just the right pony clips to sync with the song. Thanks!
If I recall correctly, the Turrets are GLaDOS' voice actress with adjusted formants and a slight degree of pitch "correction" in a program called "Melodyne." Melodyne is _like_ Autotune but has slightly different sound manipulation controls.
You wouldn't have to throw Twilight down a bottomless pit, just drop an Aperture Science Enrichment Center Weighted Storage Cube, Aperture Science Enrichment Center Weighted Companion Cube, or another Aperture Science Enrichment Center Twilight Turret on her to force shutdown.
@Aluzird:
I believe you mean "GLaD," mate. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must get back to space.
The second one was hilarious. Twilights voice is pretty similar to a turrets as is, so I'm not suprised that somepony altered it to be more like a turret.
#1- Awesome. Code Geass was a great anime. #2- Wtf was with that ending? Twilight turret-ish was interesting though. #3- The video synced with it really well. And Looney Tunes was the best cartoon ever until FiM came around. Too bad we can't get stuff like that again; it's a product of a different time... ~Dark~
I didn't think it sounded like a turret so much as the Curiosity Core from the boss fight of the first Portal, what with the excitement in her voice and all.
I've been playing with ideas for a subtly pony-inspired contra dance (probably involving setting, which I've often heard described as a "pony step", as a transition into something) that I can pull out if I notice dancers wearing pony paraphernalia, but having seen #3, I'm thinking we need somepony to write a singing square around one of the FiM songs.
Convincing the band to learn the tune and coming up with an excuse to call it could prove difficult...

Sounds more like auto tune than a Portal turret. It might sound like a turret if you've never played Portal before though.
ReplyDeleteWhat voice program are the turrets anyway
ReplyDeleteor is it just heavy manipulation
Oh Code Geass, good times.
ReplyDeleteDown with Britania! Long live Japan!!!
@NinesTempest
ReplyDeleteThey are the same voice actress as GLaD0S, put through some filters.
That third one is pretty fantastic.
ReplyDeleteExcept for the secrets part at the end, Turret Sparkle sounded like she could fit right into Portal.

ReplyDeleteI would rather have Twilight throwing books at me than those turret shooting me, though I'd feel bad when I throw her down a bottomless pit.

Awesome voice manipulation on #2 video. They should revamp an episode and make sound like that all throughout.
ReplyDelete@BagOfChips
ReplyDeleteYou're crazy if that doesn't sound like a portal turret to you.
Agreed. That sounded 100% EXACTLY like a turret to me, and I'm a pretty avid Portal player.
ReplyDeleteVideo three was funny :3
ReplyDeleteThe third vid was excellent, but brought back awkward high school memories of square dancing o_o;
ReplyDelete#2: Damn'it, sound's like "CupCake's The Musical v3", and now i have sads.

ReplyDeleteHa ha! Number three was really well done.

The first and third video said nothing to me, but Twilight Turret is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI am with Seth here. We need somepony to make the entire season 1 with Turret voice.
I sent in a video for this batch of video submissions, but I never got a response on it. Just wondering if it's something I did wrong, or what.
ReplyDeleteLike these, though, especially the Geass one.
That third one is downright fantastic!
ReplyDeleteTurret Twilight reminds me of the "different" turret only louder

ReplyDelete#2 was AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteI see you...
Has someone noticed that Fluttershy's Stare works somewhat similar to a Geass?
ReplyDeleteThe portal one was neat for audio effects. The square dance was quite well timed

ReplyDeleteSurprising how the scenes matched the music.
@Tarvoc
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought when I first watched "Stare Master"...
