Daniel Ingram has released probably the best interview so far. It's a full 14 minute feature explaining pretty much every aspect of the composing business from start to finish. If you skipped any of the previous ones, this is definitely the one to check out!
And as always, you can find his Twitter, Facebook, and Website below.

ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteMore OMG! Also... 30 songs? How many would that leave us for the second season?
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteFK: Thanks for the.. ehh
ReplyDeleteDI: Rainbow Dash ;)
FK: Rainbow Dash.. I like it!
Daniel Ingram = best composer ever.. because ponies!
I got that girl a Rainbow Dash. Chicks dig Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDelete>30 songs total
ReplyDeleteWe've got 15 songs in Season 1, so I guess we're gonna have an even number in Season 2.
That interview definitely was 20% COOLER.
ReplyDelete*pulls out Rainbow Dash from nowhere*
ReplyDeleteI died from happiness/laughter! So jelly!
YES! Daniel!
ReplyDeleteI realy dont like that lady... She isnt fit for an interviewer... Daniel Ingram however was AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteSimply incredible!
I'll get the bitch a rainbowdash
ReplyDeleteBitches love rainbowdash
Ingram! Awesome! And he so happens to have a Rainbow Dash figurine with his as well.
ReplyDeleteHe's done exceptionally well in this interview too. I find his speeches informative and inspiring. Go Daniel!
I actually never liked these "Disney musical parts", they always seemed cheesy, out of place and just... not that good. So when I first time heard musical-style song in MLP I wanted to take hammer and hit myself in head... Until I actually listened a bit more into it, and I had to admit - musical parts in MLP:FiM are great, inspiring and just plain awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo for me Daniel, you are already better than these Disney guys have ever been.
Oh, and interview was really cool.
ReplyDeleteGold stars!
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the only brony that doesn't think Daniel Ingram is all that great. I prefer William Anderson's background music, and I wish he'd get the attention he deserves.
ReplyDeleteDaniel is a cool guy, he gives out free Rainbow Dashes and isn't afraid of anything.
ReplyDeleteOMG!
ReplyDeleteHe's only done about 9 songs for season one. That would 21 for season 2!? no way.
@Anon 12:08
ReplyDeleteyou mean he doesn't afraid of anything.
And yes, I would like to see William Anderson get some attention as well. They both write great stuff.
Bronyism. Being mentioned on TV. Mind blown.
ReplyDeleteHe said 30 songs!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteTHERE ARE only 9-10 in the first season
ARE YOUR BODIES READY FOR A 20 SONG SEASON!?!?!?!
I cringe every time Daniel Ingram tries to explain the brony audience in an interview. I am so horribly self-conscious.
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteDaniel is fucking awesome.
ReplyDelete"If you skipped any of the previous ones..."
ReplyDeleteBut -why- would anypony have skipped his interview with Equestria Daily, Seth? ^_~
Ridiculously fantastic interview, this is. The man has my unrelenting support - and, pray hope, will receive some of my monies upon the release of an official MLP:FiM soundtrack.
This was pretty spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely left some impression.
ReplyDeleteyay
There are 17 songs in season 1, according to the FiM wiki. Meaning less in season 2.
ReplyDeletefeelsbadman.jpg
My body is ready for season 2
ReplyDeleteBest interview EVER!
ReplyDeleteLol, Fanny Queefer.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteMaybe less, but bigger songs? Still, 13 songs is pretty awesome.
@Ricky
ReplyDelete~I got that girl a Rainbow Dash. Chicks dig Rainbow Dash.
>>Bwhaahaha
:) That seemed a fair amount smoother than some of the other interviews, always good when the anchor researches the show prior to the interview - makes me wonder if they send the questions to Mr. Ingram before the interview, give him some time to prepare.
He said "about" 30 songs, no? Which can mean more or less than 30. I expected more songs in season 2 though, given how the frequency of songs increases towards the end of season 1.
ReplyDeleteRandom Rainbow Dash from no where. lol
ReplyDeleteShe couldn't help but butcher My Little Pony with her accent :l
ReplyDeleteHAAAAAH! That was great . . . im sad for the little Dashie that lady took . . . she seemed to faine interest in her . . . I dont know . . . Im glad she looked into MLP beforehand . . . but she didnt do good enough. It was very interesting to be able to peer into the mind of the awesome musician. He said most people dont care about background music . . . I LOVE IT! Most the music on my car stereo and phone are instrumentals/background music. Im really excited to hear the new music in S2 . . . I CANT WAIT, im not soo glad they didnt feature all of the songs . . .The Gala song was NOT one of my favs at first . . . but listening to it a few times . . . Yeah it is not. Fav of all time is Winter Wrap Up. I whistle that one basically all day at work. lol
ReplyDeleteNot THAT was an Interview Worth Wathcing the Whole Video! :D
ReplyDeleteWe got conflicting numbers on how many songs there is for season 2. I want to know if the will be more songs that are 2 to 3 minutes long.
ReplyDeleteI love how every time the brony fanbase is described on some "official" website or news show or whatever, it comes off sounding a bit creeper-ish.
ReplyDelete"About 90% male, and about, you know, aged 15 to 40."
Daniel: you're awesome, but you're not doing us any favors with that description, lol.
Stay classy Mr. Ingram, stay classy.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the MLP community wikia, there are 17 songs (including the theme song) in Season 1, so we'll get 13 in Season 2.
ReplyDeleteAlso, am I the only one who thinks that Daniel Ingram looks like Keanu Reeves?
Daniel is such a nice guy x3
ReplyDelete@Tekaramity
ReplyDeleteWait... there was an interview with ED?!
I DEMAND A LINK!!!
You know he looks like he is in his 20s for a man his age. also OMG!!
ReplyDeleteWell that's just awesome! I always like seeing interviews with Mr. Ingram. And it's true, there were 17 songs in the first season, even if some were really short:
ReplyDeletehttp://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Songs
He did say "about 30" songs, so it could be more, could be less. If we get fewer songs in Season 2 but they happen to be longer, I'm cool with that. :D
Now we just need to interview Mr. William Anderson, and I'll be happy! He does rather brilliant scoring on each episode. I feel Mr. Ingram and Mr. Anderson compliment each other well. :)
I just about lost it when they actually started talking about the whole guys being into my little pony part. Just imagining those people watching it going "wait, what?" Ah, to live in our day and age.
ReplyDeleteHonestly It was during Griffin the Brush off where the backround music really got my attention. What is this rocking guitar doing here? More evidence this is a show for MEN!
ReplyDeleteFanny Kiefer into bronyism?
ReplyDeleteApplejack: .......... Nah...
@Cyberfox
ReplyDeleteHi, Cyberfox! I presume you're the Cyberfox at Precocious.
Here's the EqDaily interview (more of a Q&A). I had the tremendous honor of organizing & conducting this interview, and Daniel has already told me that he'd love a similar Q&A after Season 2. (Jubilation!)
@Tekaramity
ReplyDeleteYou presume correctly. Good to see ya!
Y'know, it's an interesting experience, meeting a guy somewhere, then getting bronified...
... and then discovering that this guy in question has had such significant involvement in the brony community that you wonder how it's possible you didn't know about it. I'm not just talking about that interview with Daniel; I've seen your name in a few other places as well. It's like... just finding out that you're pals with a celebrity or something... though, I guess to a lesser extent, since you and I have only conversed a couple of times, ever.
Sorry, now I'm just cluttering up the comments. Thanks for the link!
Who else noticed that he successfully used the phrase 'Everypony' in PERFECT CONTEXT at the very end?
ReplyDeleteTalk about an awesome all-round likable guy.
Also, big ups for opening the entire interview a shot of Derpy Hooves standing in line at 0:04.
These interviews are interesting. I want to see one with Lauren Faust.

ReplyDeleteAwesome interview. I don't really like the woman, but buck it, she's doing a good job.
