If you check out this new
Investor Relations article, it looks like a few interesting merchandising options are on the horizon, along with a few past products we already know about. Some of the new stuff includes...
- Bedding
- "Ride-Ons"
- Towels
- Flip Flops (These better have a Gilda version)
- More Tee-Shirts from Carel
I might check out those Towels at the very least.
You can find the entire report below!

>No body pillows.
ReplyDeleteGood, we don't need to alienate ourselves even more from the public.
where's my My Little Pony underwear?
ReplyDelete>These better have a Gilda version
ReplyDeleteI lost it here.
I can haz Pony bedspread, plz Hasbro?
ReplyDeleteSo a ride-on is like a Power Wheels or something? Will we get Applejack's truck? With a Twilight standee in the back?
I hope the flip flops are in adult sizes, too. :(
ReplyDeletethe hell is a Ride On?
ReplyDeleteI'm fine without the body pillow... I was going to have a pillow case made by a different company using some saucy fanart anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt's the plush series that I'm missing.
No plushies?
ReplyDeletespikenoo.avi
If your too lazy to google it.

I WANT MY TRIXIE BED PILLOW NOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs a Ride On one of those springy things in playgrounds? I kinda hope that's what they are.
ReplyDeleteTOO MANY WORDS
ReplyDeleteNot enough pony
towels?, I KNEW IT WAS MATTER OF TIME!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteDamn it, I preferred my idea.
A Ride On is a rideable toy car. I think. So any hopes of decent figurines?
ReplyDeleteAWWWYEAH TOWELS AND BEDSHEETS. I'LL NEVER BRING A GIRL HOME AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll love every single night snuggling up with my pinkie pie.
oh god what have i done
All of my everything. They can have it.
ReplyDeleteUhh...
ReplyDeleteI expect somepony to make ponies out of towel origami, now. xP
~Dark~
Yay, pony thongs!
ReplyDeletei cant wait to "Ride-On" rarity if you know what i mean
ReplyDeleteOh, boy! More merchandise! I hope there's plushies, or maybe something a bit more show accurate! I'll totally check it out!
ReplyDelete*Two minutes later*
DAMMIT, HASBRO! I can't use towels or bedsheets without compromising myself one way or another! I can't dry myself off after a shower with ponies, and I sleep in my underwear, a state I do NOT want to be in with pony sheets! Also, my feet are a tad large for the sizes your flip-flops will likely be in. *sigh* I still might buy the toothpaste, if I can find it.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteIt will probably be Rainbow Dash instead... inb4 Rainbow Dash is the town bike.
Can't fault Hasbro's diligence in making sure they license their IP to maximize their profits without creating redundancies.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the quality of their toy production leaves much to be desired.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone there... :(
I hope they'll have pony beach towels. I'd take that with me all the time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should send open letters to their investors, suggesting that they encourage Hasbro to increase toy quality, ergo company stock value. Of course this means higher returns on their investments. This would be a mutually beneficial for all three pertinant parties: The Investor, Hasbro, and the Consumer.

ReplyDeleteMerchandising! Where the real money from the show is made!
@Fenix
ReplyDeleteI imagine the 4chan dating sim will do that just fine.
With the possible exception of the ride-ons, these all sound like cheap, generic products with the word "pony" printed on them as an afterthought. Hasbro is putting as little effort as possible into this franchise. They're making me ashamed I bought the gift set.
ReplyDeleteI want a pony towel. And pony bedsheets. Those will come out a lot better than toys anyway, I'd imagine. Pinkie Pie will be my new beach buddy.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThey are only just beginning to comprehend the brony phenomana and how they can profit from it. Keep in mind that HQ merchandise like we are all hoping for takes a long time to get from concept to the shelves. It wouldn't surprise me if by the end of season 2 we see a massive spike in product quality coming from Hasbro.
I'm talking show quality figurines with accessories that make sense, plushies of the entire main cast and some notable side/background characters, adult clothing with good designs, Wonderboltz themed RC airplanes, doll houses for the figurines based on the cast's houses in the show, a line of collectible puter figurines, companion media that is actual good, and much much more. As long as we keep voicing our interests and flashing our cash, these things are sure to happen. That's the law of supply and demand.
I suppose you're right. I just get this impression of cynicism and greed when I look at the merchandise and marketing so far. As if they were trying to market the very idea of "pony" without investing any substance or value in it.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie towel? ALL MY MONEY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of pumped for the bedding, not gonna lie. I just hope it's not all PINK PINK PINK D:
ReplyDeleteIf Hasbro makes a pair of Gilda flip flops, I swear I will bow down to them.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWell when this marketing phase was launched the thought they were just mining the pockets of toddlers parents, who are all too used to shelling out a few bucks for plastic crap that their impressionable progeny have been told to desire. Children want something with the MLP label on it, and parents don't care what the fuck "pony pulls the cart" even fucking means. In fact sense parents want to spend as little on plastic crap as possible investing in decent molds and interesting concepts wouldn't even be cost effective.
But now, by complete surprise they have a massive and much more engaged and critical segment audience to market. Hopefully we can make bigger investments of labor and capital worth it.
I will at least check the towels. Gilda needs some love, btw.
ReplyDeleteAnd while I'm at it, I will start figuring ways to spread ponies when I get back to college.
get your shit together, hasbro! does somebody near the top still too busy snorting cocaine off a hooker's ass to notice what's going on!? give us some figurines! you'll be drowning in ladyboys with the money you'll get from us!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteLadyboys? I suddenly want to be a Hasbro executive.
For those of you still confused, a Ride-on is one of these:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.slotstock.co.uk/slotStock/main/jayjay-jet-plane-kiddie-ride.png
posting bawww about the no plushies!
ReplyDeleteThat's good news! Looks like there's a lot of stuff coming our- wait, no body pillows? Damn.
ReplyDeleteI remember the last time there was a post here about official toys and someone said that it took almost a year for a toy to make it from design to retail. So its going to be some time before we see merchandise that we really want. Still, we can hold out for decent plush toys to be released.
ReplyDeleteTowels and flip flops, does want.
ReplyDelete@Crazy Brony
ReplyDeleteThat's actually entirely true, that's why they don't pull the episodes off Youtube, because there not concerned about Ad revenue but rather merchandise sales

ReplyDeleteAnother update from the Vegas show. Looks like there will be MLP dressers. Are you man enough to let Rarity hold your clothes?
I hope the flip-flops will come in adult sizes, I would love to rock some pony sandals at the beach!
ReplyDeleteGood timing! I'm actually in need of new flip-flops and a towel :3 I'm gonna wait and see what they come up with.
ReplyDeleteYo quiero Fluttershy Plushie. Also, those T-shirts better come in XL.
ReplyDeleteI rather have The Great and Powerful Trixie T shirt/plushie.
ReplyDelete@DavidReinold
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say XL little girls' sizing is still XS mens'.
@Crazy Brony
ReplyDeleteSo I take it that you're holding out for the MLP flamethrower?
You know, bedding might include plushies.
ReplyDeleteI often see Spongebob and Yoda plushies in the bedding section of stores.
BE EXCITED, GUYS.
Bleh, wish they'd do ones aimed at older guys as well as little girls.
ReplyDeleteI'd by palette accurate (mens) t-shirts and towels, but only if they were discreet. The rest does not appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteThey still making those Mighty Fine shirts?
ReplyDeleteThis freaking crap wow i never knew they had allthis major MLP stufff like really i love it! its me fave shw!
ReplyDeleteI never knew they had the majors in MLP products!
