See what I did there? Apparently Seth has decreed that I'm the poster of natural phenomenon like rainbooms and lunar eclipses. I'm totally okay with this.
According to an article from MSNBC, a very long lunar eclipse will be occurring this Wednesday, the 15th of June. Unfortunately due to the timing of the event, it will not be visible in North America, but the rest of the world should be able to see it.
I know what you're thinking... Cereal, this isn't pony-related at all! Well, guess what? June 15th is now Luna Day. Bam. Done. Problem solved.

When's Celestia day?
ReplyDeleteThe day Cutie Mark Crusaders was aired?
I have no problems with this
ReplyDeleteJune 15th isn't Luna Day you silly pony /)^3^(\
ReplyDeleteFor the first time, stuff has gone completely in my favor on this trip to Europe. HA!
ReplyDeletefuck yeah! luna day! IT BETTER BE A GREAT BANNER!
ReplyDelete>Luna Day
ReplyDeleteOh hell yes
Woohoo! Europe finally getting some sugar!
ReplyDeleteShouldn't the winter solstice be Luna day?
ReplyDeleteLuna day? AWWW YEEAAAAA
ReplyDeleteI expect Luna related fanfics and drawings.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it appears that we've decided to not celebrate increments of 1,000,000 pageviews anymore (a good idea, seeing as it's been maybe 6 days and we've already added another million.). Is it increments of 5,000,000 now?
Silly Cereal. Every day is Luna Day! /)^3^(\
ReplyDeleteSeriously though. Sucks to be an American Brony right now....
Don't forget Summer Sun celebration on 21 June!
ReplyDeleteWhy the hay we are getting Luna Days?!
ReplyDeleteWe should totally get Luna night, duh!
Winter Solstice is Luna day
ReplyDeleteWhy are these things never visible from the US!? I am angry at nature right now!
ReplyDelete@Narwhals' Bend
ReplyDeleteYeah that's what I was thinking.
Woohoo Luna Day!
ReplyDelete@ZAquanimus
ReplyDeleteI too was thinking this! I think that, since June 21st would be treated as three celebrations(Celestia Day/Summer Solstice/Summer Sun Celebration), then December 21st should, too!(Luna Day/Winter Solstice/...Winter Moon Celebration? That works.)
Wait, what about the Summer solstice?
ReplyDelete@Atlas
ReplyDeleteThe U.S. had a lunar eclipse in january.
Muhahaha! (Rarity Laugh)
ReplyDeleteWe Europeans get something most American's don't for once. And it will be the best day ever as well!
Spanish user here, I will make sure to take pictures with my Eclipse photo cammera. Yes, I do have a photo cammera built in for Solar and Lunar eclipses.
ReplyDeleteNow I just have to find that bitch before Wednesday.
Awwwww yeah. Finally a benefit to being a west aussie :D
ReplyDeleteSo my birthday is Luna day? Huh.
ReplyDeleteI think Luna day should be the Winter Solstice. The longest night of the year seems to fit better.
ReplyDeleteYeah. There wont be another lunar eclipse visible from North America until 2014.
ReplyDeleteBut we'll get a lot then.
One short one early in the year, a long one late in the year. Same thing for 2015.
@Anonymous Just wait till a solar eclipse comes. THEN it will be Celestia day. That's gonna be a blast, like april fools day only you have the WHOLE day to troll someone.
ReplyDeleteStupid rest of the world. They get all the cool stuff. Like eclipses and early releases for pokemon.
ReplyDeleteSo June 15th is Luna day every year? Even if there isn't a lunar eclipse?
ReplyDeleteThe Winter solstice does seem a better choice for Lunar day.
Everyday should be Luna day! :D
ReplyDeleteWinter Solstice = Luna Day
ReplyDeleteSummer Solstice = Tro- er Celestia day
I think everypony would agree with this.
Luna Day?
ReplyDeleteLuna Night you mean! I'm celebrating that!
This requires fan art! Lots of Luna fan art! :p
Silly Cereal. This is obviously Celestia trolling. She is putting a shadow on Luna's beloved moon (see what she did there? :3)
ReplyDeleteAwww... Not even visible in Mexico... :(
>it will not be visible in North America
ReplyDeleteWell screw that, then.
''Not visible in North America''
ReplyDeleteFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
My birthday is Luna day?
ReplyDeleteLuna is Superior goddess confirmed.
The Summer Sun Celebration (Summer Solstice) and the Winter Moon Celebration (Winter Solstice) are obvious guys!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a Luna Is Awesome Day. Cereal just forgot the other two words in his rush. n.n
How should we celebrate?
ReplyDeleteI hate it when these things come along. I'm European, so I technically can see this but I live in Britain, and so the weather will be faultlessly terrible when it actually happens.
ReplyDeleteWhat I wouldn't give to be a pegasus just to beat the crap out of those clouds for all the awesome celestial phenomena they made me miss.
I'm European too but I live in Poland. In Wednesday will be rainy in my city but I believe I see this.
ReplyDeleteGlad i'm From Europe =)
ReplyDeleteBtw not pony related?! you kidding xD? We got a Moon Godess character in the ponies xD
Also i could turn everything into pony in 10 seconds flat if i wanted, remember The Lonely Astronaut? almost eveything fits with Ponies ;P
Maybe lunar eclipses should be like Nightmare moon related, at least I think it would be cool^^. Eternal Night!
ReplyDeleteQuestion for all Euro-bronies: Does anypony know when it will be visible in Austria/central europe? Moonrise, moonset, high in the sky, etc?
ReplyDeleteHow shall we celebrate Luna day :D???
ReplyDeleteBanners, Excessive Artwork, Fan Fiction, Moon Cookies & Pies :D? Another CreepyPasta Luna game? lmao
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_2011_lunar_eclipse
ReplyDelete>it will not be visible in North America
ReplyDeleteGod damn it Hasbro, won't you let anything come to America?
@lesserpoet
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not mistaken, the total eclipse will happen at 8:22PM Austria local time.
Be sure to get out there a little earlier than that though.
Should have went: I'm 0kay with this.
ReplyDeleteAWWW YEAH!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anon, I'll be sure to do just that...
ReplyDeleteso im in canada....i wont see it?
ReplyDeleteLuna Day should be when there's a solar eclipse, because that's when the moon blocks out the sun, WHO TOTALLY HAS IT COMING.
ReplyDeleteI am okay with this.
ReplyDeleteCan we just make every day Luna day?
ReplyDeleteSo it should be making its peak around 8:20 pm. Perfect, I can watch it during my break at work. For once, I won't miss the good stuff because of work.
ReplyDeleteI can uhhh...I can still celebrate luna day right :D
ReplyDeleteEvery Monday is Luna day.... Monday -> moon day -> Luna day ;).
ReplyDeleteAnd every Sunday is Celestia day
I'll have you know that this is the second of my eclipses this year. There was one at the beginning of the month, which I informed Seth of so as not to scare everypony, but that went unnoticed.
ReplyDeleteI swear, it's a thousand years ago all over again...
Great.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the moon being close to Earth is blocked by clouds, now this is gonna be blocked by whatever is blocking it.
Why does Luna mock us Americans so? T_T
ReplyDelete"Every Monday is Luna day.... Monday -> moon day -> Luna day ;).
ReplyDeleteAnd every Sunday is Celestia day"
I am for this so freaking much. 0_0 Make it so Seth!
Luna Day marks the beginning of finals for me. Yay.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThe summer solstice is on June 21 (in the Northern Hemisphere, anyway) in a little over a week.
Luna-Night, as it were. *cough*. I APPROVE. The day after my prelims! I approve deeply. Perhaps I shall celebrate with a massive marathon.
ReplyDelete*VERY IMPORTANT*
ReplyDeleteThe eclipse will only be visible near the Indian Ocean and some parts of Europe and Asia. Use the following map for reference: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/88/Visibility_Lunar_Eclipse_2011-06-15.png
Luna Day/Night? I, for one will drink to that! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd I happen to have some wine left over! >:D
Oh cool. That's my birthday. Awesum. :L
ReplyDeleteIt dont have to be a Luna day or whatnot, just let it be some "casual" visit from our favorite royal night ruller ;)
ReplyDeletecan some one tell me the time of the lunar eclipse in india time ? its starting and ending time

ReplyDeleteLet me tell you, it's looking awesome down here in Aus
Just occuring here, it's interesting, most of the moon is gone, barely visible and has a red-ish shade :P
