I am not sure if this is the same play that I linked a while back, but something is planned for the 22-23rd up in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada during the CapitalEX event.
It sounds like only three of the mane six will take part in the show. Have a copy pasted excerpt from the site!
My Little Pony…stars Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash & Applejack in a live, interactive, musical adventure. Twilight Sparkle is a light violet unicorn pony with an indigo mane and tail and pink and purple streaks, in the pursuit of knowledge. Applejack is an orange earth pony, with a blonde mane and tail, very dependable and down-to-earth, but also has a stubborn side. Rainbow Dash, a sky blue pegasus pony, with a multicolored mane and tail, very brave and bold, but also mischievous and proud. You can find the mane page here!
Thanks to Alberta Brony for the info!

No Fluttershy = Pointless Show
ReplyDelete>No Fluttershy
ReplyDelete>No Rarity
>No Pinkie Pie
Needs more Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I will take some pics and video for you guys :)
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA I Just wanna see their faces when 20+ year olds show up for the show xD
ReplyDeleteNo Rarity= unfabulous show
ReplyDeleteOkay awesome, thanks taffy. Try to get front row for us.
ReplyDeleteI remember the last time they did a musical for MLP.
ReplyDeleteTHE HORROR THE HORROR
Hahahahaahah, I SO called this things existence a few months ago!

ReplyDeleteOh god... no...
NOOOOOOOO
I live in Edmonton but might not go to this I will probably only go on the rides there only.
ReplyDeleteno fluttershy...
ReplyDeletei am not going

ReplyDeleteIt makes sense that only Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Applejack would appear in the show. Rarity will be handling the costumes, Fluttershy will try find what woodland critters are in the area for the soundtrack and Pinkie Pie will be too focused on the fact that she is 3 dimensional to take part.
ReplyDeleteAww, 2 of my favourites won't be there D=
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure this is inherently going to suck.
ReplyDeleteNo Pinkie?
ReplyDeleteWAT.
It might not be so bad...well, I shouldn't say that until at least we get a glimpse of what the show will really be like. I hope the performer costumes are decent(Dear God please).
Please let it be composed by Daniel Igram himself...
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm in awe of all the Fluttershy love going on here, whats with the suddent *Eff-it* attitude? It could still be a great show without her, Rarity or Pinkie (without Pinkie because I don't see how they'd be able to contain all that random on one stage.)
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I could be there...
ReplyDeleteOf course the west gets all of the cool stuff. Ontario needs some Pony love too.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, it sounds interesting, but whether or not it is capable of capturing the essence of the show is another thing. Hopefully it will be a good show for the Albertans nonetheless.
Yeah! I'm going to be in the show!
ReplyDeleteI hope they do it correctly or I'm going to kick some human hind quarters.
Live, interactive stage show?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go out on a limb and predict that it's going to be done like the whole 'Talk to Crush' show at Disneyland. Animation on a giant screen, while voice actors backstage monitor the crowd and animations are played to react to the kids' questions.
I cannot imagine any possible way for this not too be embarrassingly terrible. I just hope to God(and I'm an atheist)that they resist the urge to trot out 2-man horse costumes. Oh please God don't let this involve 2-man horse costumes.
ReplyDeleteI guess they went with AJ and Rainbow Dash because it's the same voice actress, no need to pay three actors.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go. Anybody with a video cammera in Alberta could be kind enough to go record it for us foreign Bronies.
Needs about 20% more Pinkie. Still a neat thing, though.
ReplyDelete@James Corck
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt this involves the official VA's
Do NOT get your hopes up.
ReplyDeleteIMO, the only way this will be at least decent is if the writers for FiM had heavy involvement in the production process. However, this seems unlikely, and knowing Hasbro's production quality (protip: It isn't on par with the show), then this show won't hold a candle to the cartoon. But then again, what do I know?
ReplyDeleteWhy I live in Poland. I was not at all important brony events. This is sad...
ReplyDeleteA musical without Pinkie Pie? Well, I guess we'll just wait and see.
ReplyDeleteSo... is this going to be good or...?
ReplyDelete@Miles24
ReplyDeleteI hear you, brony! There's basically been nothing, not even a hint of anything pony related out this way! Well, maybe the Exhibition might, but that's 2 months away yet.
...Interactive?
ReplyDeleteRainbow: There sure are a lot of boys here..
Twilight: Why yes, Rainbow Dash! Statistics show that we've become quite popular with both girls and boys of all ages!
Applejack: Well either way, its mighty kind of ya'll to come out to see us!
Rainbow: I bet all these guys are losers.
Applejack: Rainbow! You apologize right now!
Random Bronies: We love you Rainbow Dash!
Rainbow: Huh... ok, they're cool.
Please, PLEASE upload this to YouTube! Someone! Anyone!
ReplyDelete@Calnos
ReplyDeleteIt would be so awesome if that happened.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteF*****************K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K F**K! NO! We do not discuss that! We do not even consider the possibility!
Derpy eyed Applejack!
ReplyDeletePhotos of the audience full of bronies, and (good) video of the show. Bring a small tripod/monopod please! :D
ReplyDeleteIf I had moneys, I'd almost consider going out west to see this. Any Ontario Bronies see a road trip in the future?
... mdkpz@aol.com (disposable email) if anypony wants to get a hold of me.
Anypony want to bet that AJ won't have her hat, either.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder if they'll be using the VAs from the show, or sound a likes.
ReplyDelete@Calnos
ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S what I call interactive. But since it's Hasbro... ehhh. :\
@T.O. Brony
ReplyDeleteIndeed. But perhaps some of the VA's and crew behind the show will be at the CFE, but even that is still a ways away.
The fuck? No Pinkie?
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not like I can go anyway. Canada. Hahaha.
I hope if someone goes to this they tape it and put it online, I'd love to see it but I don't live anywhere NEAR Edmonton
ReplyDeletewell this can turn out 3 ways
ReplyDeleteSo good it's awsome
so bad it's good
or so bad it's horrible
well we'll see in 3 days
What? NO RARITY?
ReplyDeleteTHIS SPECTACLE LACKS CLASS!
Good day, sirs!
*slams door on the way out*
Figures they picked the best 3 out of the 6 :P
ReplyDeleteLet us hope its not nightmare fuel though XD
Needs more Flutter shy and pinkie pie... rarity i can live without... JK the ponies can't be fabulous without her
ReplyDelete@Kurogo
ReplyDeleteI hope it's this
This show is also happening at the Calgary Stampede!!
ReplyDeleteMY LITTLE VOCALOID
ReplyDeleteOh god, are we as bad as those guys? Really?
Goddamn it...
What!? Applejack AND Twilight Sparkle? You bet I'll be there. Even if the event sucks, I'll meet fellow edmonton bronies.
ReplyDeleteWhy no Rarity?
ReplyDeleteWell, if it's decent, I can steal some of the stuff they use and put it into MLM! :U
ReplyDeleteThat last sentence in the description is not a complete sentence =/
ReplyDeleteI just have to hope it'll be cool. I'm not all Canada'y so I can't check it out personally. Please post pics or something, someone, so we can know if they did it well or not.
ReplyDeleteThis will be an epic trainwreck, and I wish I could be there to see it.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine hearing the voice actors sounding nothing like the real ones...
ReplyDeleteRainbow: Oi shoire loike dem appals Applejuck
The lack of Steven Magnet is disappointing. Fluttershy needs to show up as well.
ReplyDeleteLooking down the page, it'd be hilarious if Max & Ruby were more like Raving Rabbids.
ReplyDeletelolwhut?
ReplyDeleteI have seen clips of the G3 Musical on YouTube...
I hope this is not some moving mechanical pony show. If I were to pull a musical, I would do this the anime convention (with props) way~ (And of course with gijinka ponies 'cause going full-suit would be weird.)
>My Little Pony (Questionable)
ReplyDelete>Thomas The Tank Engine (Love the original show but this can't be good.)
>Franklin (Manure)
>Max & Ruby (Manure)
I'm gonna go ahead right now and say...
EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeNOPE
>MLP live musical
ReplyDeleteOH BOY, HERE WE GO
please for the sake of god FILM THE ENTIRE SHOW AND PUT ITT ON YOUTUBE!!!
ReplyDeleteHERE IS MY MONEY!
ReplyDeleteTAKE IT!
Someone make sure to tell us if Applejack has a hat during the show, Celestia knows she doesn't anywhere else.
ReplyDeleteOnly Twilight, Rainbow, and Applejack...
ReplyDeleteHmm...this sounds familiar...hmm...
Oh, right...
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101213063305/mlp/images/thumb/6/6b/Applejack-twilightsparkle-rainbowdash.png/400px-Applejack-twilightsparkle-rainbowdash.png
I wonder if that's why...
This is why we can have nice things?
ReplyDeletePack the royal carriage, sis. We got a two-day ride ahead of us and were not going to stop every hour because you're carriage-sick..
ReplyDeleteFor the record, CapitalEX is the best 10 days ever in this country. If anyone's interested in the musical, take off a full week and just enjoy the whole package. If the pony stuff is mindblowing, it's all worth it. If not, meet up with fellow bronies, go to Tim Hortons and get donuts with "extra sprinkles" until you pass out.
ReplyDeleteI have nasty a feeling that this'll turn out as horrid as that G3 musical. And as downright creepy for that matter.
ReplyDeleteBesides, a musical without Pinkie Pie is just blasphemy. What with her being the mane purveyor of impromptu songs in the show and all.
Most likely going to be at the Ex anyway, so might check it out, if only for the pure lulz of it and seeing a crowd full of bronies. Who knows, it might actually be good...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy are at the Calgary showing?
ReplyDeleteI hope for the best, but I expect the worst. It sucks to have that much uncertainty over a period of three days.
ReplyDeleteJust remember, attendees: you're basically ambassadors of the FiM online fandom, so do your best to kill the general media's stereotype-thing before it solidifies.
Also, y'know, politeness and love can really bring up a random stranger's day. Especially if the musical somehow ruins it.
Even if the show itself is terrible there's going to be a bunch of bronies hanging out there so I bet it'll be well worth attending. I'll do my best to make it myself, for one.
ReplyDeleteJust remember to be on best 'ambassador of the fandom' behavior, everypony! :)
Yay! I can go!
ReplyDeleteNo Pinkie makes me sad, but hey, i can live with Rainbow :D
Also, to any edmonton bronies, I'll be cosplaying Pinkie, and singing songs :D
And here I was thinking the brony numbers here in Edmonton were close to none. I guess I'll be busting out my Big Mac and Rainbow Dash shirts for this.
ReplyDelete@2007excalibur2007
ReplyDeleteThey were afraid to let Pinkie Pie out. She might destroy physics and bring about the apocalypse.
ooooooo no
ReplyDeleteI could see this.
ReplyDeleteIts on my days off. I could meet fellow peers.
I should consider it.
I really hope this gets put on youtube. I'd hate to go my whole life without seeing this.
ReplyDeleteIt be sweet for them to come to Woop-up day's too. But it's too small.
ReplyDeleteThe article needs a little fixing; the show's on July 24-25, not 22-23.
ReplyDelete@AnonymousIt;'s missing the three best characters.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous The show on June 22-23 has already happened, so the next showing is on July 24-25
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it was a date correction. Nobody's missed anything.
ReplyDeleteSo uh..did anyone record it? o_o
ReplyDeleteits the 26th where is it >:O
ReplyDelete27th... still no video. :\
ReplyDeleteno pinkie..fine.WHERE ARE RARITY AND FLUTTERSHY?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous Rarity made the costumes and is really busy working in wardrobe, and Fluttershy has severe stage fright.
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't happened yet! The June dates were a mistake. It's on July 24-25, which is after the July 12-13 showings at the Calgary Stampede. CapitalEX begins on July 22; in June, it hadn't even started!
