More toy news from MLP Arena! Looks like the "Fashion Style" has released Twilight Sparkle, as well as a set of both Luna and Celestia in one box.
They are using the typical models, with some added shoes and stuff for those for you who are into that sort of thing.
Unfortunately, Celestia remains pink. A sad fate indeed for our supreme solar overlord.
That's two Luna toys now. I have a feeling she will be playing a pretty big role in season two, perhaps even joining the mane cast.
You can find more images after the break.
Thanks to Sheldon for the heads up!

LUUUNAAA
ReplyDeleteHAAASBROOO!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously is it that hard to fix her?
ReplyDeleteHASBRO i am still disapoint
ReplyDeleteDem wings.
ReplyDeleteNow don't get your hopes up Sethisto.
ReplyDeleteWe would all love to see Luna back, but I'm afraid of getting me hopes up too much.
I don't know why there is so much speculation about background characters joining the mane cast. The mane six are a working formula, Hasbro's not going to mess with that. That being said, I think it is highly likely that Luna will appear in season 2.
ReplyDeleteMY EEEEYYYYEEEESSS!
ReplyDeleteI really don't like the ponies with fake hair, I wish they'd hurry up and make the rest of the cast in solid plastic like they did with the gift set. C'mon Hasbro... Pony up!
ReplyDeleteKILLT IT! KILL IT WIHT HOLY FIRE!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing poor Princess Celestia got a sunburn through her coat?
ReplyDeletethat Luna one...I need it
ReplyDelete@chessie2003
ReplyDeleteLuna has already been confirmed to be in Season 2, and your right about there being no additions to the mane six. There was no mysterous 7th element of harmony.
Sister's coat turns white for the winter. She used to dye it pink, but that just made it fall-out.
ReplyDeleteAt least this Luna has better eyes, but my god...SO MANY ACCESSORIES D8
ReplyDelete>luna joining the mane cast
ReplyDeleteyou motherfucker why do you get my hopes up. this will never happen.
I say, I think that's Rarity on the floor over there, passed out in shock.
ReplyDeleteYou know how sensitive her sense of aesthetics is, Twilight.
I'm guessing they have a warehouse full of these models of pony. You could get them for a relative young enough not to recognize or care about the difference in order to support the brand, but if you're a brony looking for something closer resembling the 4th Gen pony that fished you in, I recommend the blind bags or the 5 pack. Perfect to bring a little slice of Equestria for the cubical of your daily grind!
ReplyDeleteI will be getting these. all of them. I love dems ponies.
ReplyDeleteRarity disapproves for lack of fabulousity!

ReplyDeleteTo be honest, the elements of harmony have yet to make any news of even being in Season 2. They were barely even touched in Season 1 as nothing more then an opening plot the series. Luna though could have potential of joining the mane cast, but the biggest issue I'd say would be the fact that she's suppose to be on par with Celestia in status and it might cause difficulties.
As of now, I'll be happy if she makes regular appearences and is not just a clone of Celestia.
On a side note, I'm really favoring for well done plushes over those toys personally. I really don't care for the style off hand. But nice to know Luna's getting noticed. :D
Twilight's cape reminds me of her bad dress.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she's wearing her tiara from the pilot.
PURGE THE UNCLEAN!
ReplyDeleteFUCK HASBRO
ReplyDeleteYOU'RE DOING IT WRONG
It'd be pretty funny to see a toy with actual accessories that Twilight Sparkle would have. Half of them would be books. There'd be Owlicious, some mad scientist beakers, a couple of quills...
ReplyDeleteI would die of happiness if Luna joined the Mane Cast.
ReplyDeleteThen I could finally say I have a favorite Mane Cast pony x3
If Luna joins the mane cast, i will personally write a huge ass thank you letter to hasbro before going out and raiding target

ReplyDeleteWhy do Celestia and Luna have wingboners?
Although, Twi looks nice...
Oh snap. Gotta have. By not use Twilight's Gala dress?
ReplyDeleteThis is my face when Luna's appearance on the show is as disappointing as her appearance in the toy line.

HASBRO
ReplyDeleteY U NO MAKE CANON TOYS
No Hasbro, NO. Get them right please :D The fan-made toys look better than those made by a million dollar company. That doesn't add up :p
ReplyDeleteSIGH I don't care what anybrony says, I'm buying everything Pony and that includes both versions of Luna, I also really dig Little Celestia, now she's going to be able to blend in when visiting Ponyville better. LOL
ReplyDelete@Klondike
ReplyDeleteWhen hasn't Celestia had a wingboner?
The biggest thing holding Hasbro back from making better toys is just the huge investment needed for new molds and such. The fan-made ones are good because they've had a lot of time to put into them, far more time than is feasible to put in to a mass-produced children's toy line that already has working models.
ReplyDeleteIf talks aren't already going for toys aimed at the older fanbase, our best bet is probably to prove that there would be enough demand to cover the initial expense in making new designs and molds.
Also, Celestia IS canonically a very, VERY pale pink, so they are making progress when compared to the initial versions of her (though why they don't just use white is beyond me...).
That being said: KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!
If Celestia stops trolling, then she'll be allowed to be White in the Toys.
ReplyDeleteDamnit, these are still wrong! When will Hasbro release ponies that are modeled after THIS gen?
ReplyDeleteHAAASSSSSBROOOOOOO
ReplyDeleteWait, so then what was the first luna toy?
ReplyDeleteits nice that they are making luna toys but really they should of made a fashion style rarity
ReplyDeletenot twilight...
also what is with that fur trimmed cape she is wearing?!
@bobbin the unicorn
ReplyDeleteThere's already a Fashion Style Rarity.

I think Luna will be as common as Princess Celestia is in the show, not a sudden best friend of the mane six.
ReplyDeleteWhy must Celestia be cursed to remain pink?!
Finally moar Luna awesomeness<3 I don't think she'll be part of the mane cast but she'll show up here and there.
ReplyDeleteAlso fashion style Twilight? Well that only means Rainbow Dash is left and I wanna see her in her gala dress with her random grspe necklace<3
"Unfortunately, Celestia remains pink. A sad fate indeed for our supreme solar overlord."
ReplyDeleteI read the quote and I loled.
Then I saw the dolls and I wanted to tear my eyes out of my sockets D:
Why don't they use Twilight's Gala dress?!?
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the Luna, Celestia's too pink :/
I have doubts about Luna joining the mane cast. My guess is they'll have a specific Luna episode, then she'll make appearances most of the time we see Celestia in Canterlot.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if some goofball at Hasbro thinks kids will confuse Celestia with Rarity if they make her white too. I'd like to paint my Celestia toy white but am not sure the best way to do it and not leave brush streaks. Is my only real option a small airbrush?
Celestia is actually a very light pink though. Not was pink as the toy, but she isn't white.
ReplyDeleteDAMN YOU HASBROOOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can sorta appreciate the cost effective arguments of new molds for the MLP:FiM/G4 line of toys and all, but I can't help but to think of the items I used to collect a few years back, Dungeons and Dragons miniatures, made by Wizards of the Coast (actually a subsidiary of Hasbro itself, if I'm not mistaken).
ReplyDeleteThere were several dozen EXPERTLY crafted and accurate painted molds that came out in waves every few months, sold in mystery booster packs of a half dozen or so toys at $10 a pack (sorta like Magic: The Gathering cards). Now, I know that this exact 'booster pack' business model would not work at all with MLP:FiM, but this proves to me that toy molds are not nearly as "OMG, SO F**KING HARD AND EXPENSIVE" to make as Hasbro, and some of it's die-hard collectors and fans make it seem sometimes.
For those complaining about pink Celestia, etc., Lauren said a while back that it probably is a result of bowing to stores' demands - the stores tend to purchase much more of an item if it fits their idea of a "big seller".

Really, Hasbro's only part of the equation.
>possibility of Luna joining the mane cast
ReplyDeleteAs awesome as that would be, that would really kinda suck.
Every time a New Toy pops out, it makes me Wish there was a ‘Rarity’ Equivalent Designing these Toys. I may not know much about Aesthetic Appeal Personally, but know enough that she would Not approve. *Still Fumes of STILL Pink Celestia and Purple Luna*
ReplyDeleteAt least Celestia doesn't have blue wings. XP And Celestia's outline is pink, so I can sorta see her being a bit pink-ish. :)
ReplyDeleteThat said, it's been said a Canterlot playset would be out this November/December. It would be interesting if Hasbro had released revised toys for that. (Or, imagine our faces when Celestia is now pink in the cartoon, hahaha...ha. Well if it's still awesome I'd watch it. >.>;;)
"RARITY! Celestia just became tiny and pink! I need a floofy coat, 2 giant combs and a heart mirror, stat!"
ReplyDeleteLuna has two toys even though only appeared for a few seconds, but every toy of Celestia has her with a pink coat. Maybe they are trying to distract us from their design screw-ups by giving us a Luna toy for every frame of animation she was in.
ReplyDelete@bobbin the unicorn
ReplyDeleteThey did. I actually own one.
Am I the only one that noticed that Luna's tiara is the wrong color?
ReplyDeleteHasbro, you're making me sad.
I hope there will be a large Rainbow Dash at some point, even though she definitely wouldn't fit into the "fashion style" line.
ReplyDelete>luna joining the mane cast
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing, even with the original TV show, Hasbro made very few toys of the canon characters. It looks like they are just doing the same thing they've always done. But who knows? With this shifting fanbase they may be persuaded. But at this point, the toys' targeted market is still little girls.
Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy B-day is soon I can't wait!!!
(I already have the other fasion ponies)
Nice post. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE TEARING ME APART HASBRO!
ReplyDelete... Looks like the sisters come in a two-pack.
ReplyDeleteThis is INSANE.
ReplyDeleteFirst Celestia is PINK.
Second, Luna is PURPLE instead of blue and has a blue and purple mane instead of light blue!
THE NERVE!!

ReplyDelete...........where...................is............. TRIXIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis toy doesn't look TOO bad. They actually FIXED Celestia's mane color to light pink, not just normal pink.
ReplyDeleteI like accessories on my ponies, so I can present them proudly!
The ponies themselves are OK, but Celestia SHOULD be taller.
Still disappointed :I
ReplyDeleteSpotted these at Target today. They were still int he back, not due to be out out till 7/31. Pestered the clerk till he looked em up, searching for Canterlot, he found em. 6 inches tall, and $30 for the pair
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness i saw celestia and she is the wrong shade of pink she is a very white..ish pink XD
ReplyDeletei have been looking everywhere for these, online, in stores, i cant find them! :(
