How about hoeny? Honies? Like bros before hoes? Ah dammit thats lame.
VastaKustutaFemale bronies are called bronies. It's not gender-specific, despite bro being in there.
VastaKustutaThat's SO awesome! I'm actually planning making an amigurumi Spike as soon as I'm done with a current project. Very, very well done :)
VastaKustutanow I have to make this!
VastaKustutaThat's neat! I wish I knew anything about crochet, I'd make one for my niece.
VastaKustutaActually, we probably should figure that out what female fans are called. Hoeny/hony is hardly a proper title. Filly is a young female horse under the age of four (don't know what that is in horse-years), and I doubt all of them match that age level. Anyone else got ideas?
VastaKustutaHow about we let the female fans decide what they call themselves?
VastaKustutaI've seen just plain "pony" being used to refer to female fans.
VastaKustutaBut yeah, we need to figure this out.
I just prefer being called a brony, but if females should be called anything, I think Filly rolls off the tongue better...or Mareies? Argh...
VastaKustutaI love this =^.^= I just started working on a Fluttershy amigurumi, but I couldn't find *any* patterns for wings at all, plus it's got the horn so I can do my Twilight now too :D
VastaKustutaAlso, I agree that brony is gender neutral and it sounds better, not to meantion easier, to refer to the community as a whole as bronies.
Just like the word 'Bro', 'Brony' is not gender-specific. In the rulebook, The Bro Code, a woman can be your Bro. Thus, a female fan can be a Brony.
VastaKustutagirls can be bros too. hence bronies.
VastaKustutaI think a female brony could go by bronette. It sounds better since brony is the popular fandom name and it lets people know that they're a girl.
VastaKustuta'Brony'? Neigh, I am a Pony, and I will never call myself a 'brony' neighther.
VastaKustutaExcept that "bronette" doesn't have any pony in it :(
VastaKustutaI just go by brony.
Awesome job ! I must try to do this but I'm not skilled in crocheting : (
VastaKustutaI like bronies as a gender neutral term for us as a whole. But if there is a need to specify that a brony is female then I think bronette is the best of the options I have heard so far.
VastaKustutaSince filly is already a word for a young female horse it doesn't work so well for me. Although if filly could be adapted somehow...
Perhaps we need a poll for this!

VastaKustutaI thought we called them Sillies. (Sister+Filly) Because the idea of a girl liking this show is just silly. Anyway, I wish I had enough money to buy a thousand of those Fluttershys. Or is it Fluttershies?
VastaKustutaI have been dying to do an amigurumi style pon, but I'm not good enough at it to make a pattern. YAY
VastaKustutaALL of money! Take it.
VastaKustutaAnd...well, I'm fine calling myself a brony as a female brony. Brony is awesome and I call my female friends 'bro' sometimes...let's just keep it as it is.
VastaKustutaCan't we just call them bronies?
VastaKustutaEh, it'd probably be easier for everypony in the community to just go by brony.
VastaKustutaI've been dying to crochet some ponies, and finally a decent pattern! I don't think it states what hook size was used.... But I can figure it out!
VastaKustutaThanks so much for sharing!
I can't believe that first comment was the first comment. Dying of embarrassment here, people. Just call them brony. Or let them pick a term for themselves.
VastaKustutaYeah man. Everyone's bronies.
VastaKustutaChicks are just bronies.
VastaKustutaAlso, I love how this debate has taken over this blog post and nobody's saying anything about Cottonshy up there.
@Starky I like that one too, its cute.
VastaKustutaThis is amazing! I am so glad this is here, and that I've picked up crocheting last year. I have enough hooks to crochet a small army. Maybe I'm just about good enough to make this!
VastaKustutaon the brony front; I prefer to refer to myself as a brony. The fact that I'm a girl does not exclude me from the brony-fandom.
A brony is a brony no matter the gender
VastaKustutaI'm a chick and I'll go by brony. ^.^
VastaKustutaAs a girl myself, I think we should keep the term Brony so long as we get the word out that "Brony = MLP:FiM fans" and not "Brony = guys who enjoy the show"
VastaKustutaOther than that, since Brony is a masculine term for "Pony", so Pony should make more sense, but for those of us who aren't in the furry fandom (excluding the show itself of course) Pony might be a bit...well, y'know.
I just call them Brunelleschi. Or bronette.
VastaKustutaShe looks like ramen =D
VastaKustutaI think we should call us 'bronie' and male bronies are 'brony'. That way it sounds the same but you can spell it differently.
VastaKustutaI've been using the term "Fan Filly", myself, both for myself and the other girls around me who watch the show, and "Brony" for the male fans.
VastaKustutaFan Filly sounds good.
VastaKustutaOh my goodness! She looks amazing! Looks like I'll have to get out my hooks and yarn stash and give this a shot! :D
VastaKustutaAw, she looks brilliant! Shame I have no crafts skills, or I'd try making one.
VastaKustutaTo add to the debate, I like the term 'pegasisters'. I heard it from somewhere I can't remember...
So, I need to learn to crochet, then use that new-found skill to make some My Little Pony figures?
VastaKustutaCan't think of a manlier way to spend the weekend.
FWIW, I vote for "Brony" being a gender-neutral term for anyone in the periphery demographic (i.e. everyone except 3-7 year old girls). With so many talented contributors in the herd, the gender of any particular member really shouldn't matter.
I've always just called myself a pony, as a female fan of the series.
VastaKustutaSince "brony" seemed to be a masculinized form of "pony" anyways, I thought it was a given. I guess not.
TOO CUTE FOR COMFORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Dot Warner you've got some competition!!!]
VastaKustutaI thought "bronette" was pretty cute, but it's true that it doesn't say anything about "ponies" in it.
VastaKustutaAnyway, this is awesome! I was thinking about making my own pattern for some amigurumi ponies, but I'll definitely have to take a look at this one. I especially love the wing options!
that looks so cute i really want one.
VastaKustutabrony is not gender specific but i can see how female fans dont like using it since it has bro and all.
Sooo cute!!!!
VastaKustutaEr, how about Sister-Brony? I suppose I wouldn't mind being called that. Though it sounds rather cult-like. I guess we are sort of cultish tho... XD
I call female bronies (and myself, hence my ovaries) just she-bronies. She-brony, she-bronies. Yeah.
VastaKustutaAlso WANT A RAINBOWDASH.
Female bronies are called bronies. Do not make me have to choke a foal.
VastaKustutaI don't like being called a brony, I consider it male specific. XD
VastaKustutaI DO like the suggestion of pegasis, or pegasisters, also considering my ponysona is a pegasus. :D
^ "ponysona"
VastaKustutaI prefer being called a brony.
"Brony" is used pretty generic for all fans of the show.
VastaKustutaI've always seen brony as being gender neutral.
VastaKustutaI am totally digging pegasister.
VastaKustutaPegasisters.
VastaKustutaThat works right?
I really don't like Pegasister. I would rather be called a Brony. Does it have to involve gender despite the Bro?
VastaKustutaPLEASE READ THIS, IT'S IMPORTANT FOR ALL BRONIES AND FEMALE PONY FANS.
VastaKustutaPlease, female bronies, do not name yourself as a Pegasister. This name technically limits you to being a pegasus only or a pegasus fan only. If the name Pegasister takes over the female brony society then the many female bronies that do not like pegasi or would rather be a unicorn, earth pony or alicorn will not have the pride of being called so. I know as myself I don't like the name pegasisters because it makes me feel like I'm limited.
SO WHY DON'T WE JUST CALL FEMALE BRONIES... MARES? IT'S COMPLETELY FEMININE WITH NO LIMITS. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE WE'LL HAVE A GOOD NAME SOON SO LETS JUST STICK WITH MARES, PEGASISTERS SHOULD BE BANISHED. PLEASE SPREAD THIS AROUND UNLESS A BETTER FEMALE NAME RHYMING WITH 'PONIES' IS FOUND SOON.
Oh, and if a female names themselves a brony, it's almost like putting the bros in charge. Or you know, we can make up a female brony name that doesn't really have to do with ponies at all... like for example; Modies.
VastaKustutaSonies?
VastaKustutaLol maybe Pwnsister would work although i do think Brony is gender nuetral and sounds pretty awesome
VastaKustutaOr Pwnsis?
VastaKustutaBy teh way I love that fluttershy. Awesomeness has been achieved

VastaKustutaPegasisters, yo!? But yeah, I'm definitely making this.
VastaKustutaIf a Brony is a Brother Pony, shouldn't a female be a Sony (Sister Pony)?
VastaKustutaBrother Pony = Brony
VastaKustutaSister Pony = Sony
Mother Pony = Mony
Father Pony = Fony
If a Brony is a Brother Pony, shouldn't a female be a Sony (Sister Pony)?
VastaKustutaFemale bronies=pegusisters
VastaKustutaFemale bronies=pegusisters
