For those of you who missed out on the final night of the Artist Training Grounds, you also missed out on some pretty amazing comics. So amazing, in fact, that Seth told me I should repost some of them. So I am! As I think is standard for these things anymore, click the image to go to the full comic. The one you see above was done by Zach, and the one you see below was produced by Egophiliac, who seems to have run off with my heart and forgot to give it back. I mean, as a wise cyborg private eye once said, "Wowzers."

Those were awesome.
ReplyDeleteFirst I lol'd.
ReplyDeleteThen I d'awwww'd.
Awesome! You didn't say "first"! (I hate that)
ReplyDeleteMad Max, you got yourself some competition! Hope everything's going better, BTW...
Seen them at the last day of the event, but they are still awesome ^^
ReplyDeleteThat first one was awesome. I sure do like me some Appledash, and BttF is my favourite movie ever.
ReplyDeleteIf you view all of Egophiliac's Celestia comics in order, you actually get a touching little story out of it.
ReplyDeleteReally like the second one.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those are awesome, second one is very touching and Back to the Future reference is great in my books!
ReplyDeletePHOE! I love you and your posts, your library of references to things once enjoyed in childhood that I have forgotten about, (I haven't forgotten Inspector Gadget though) don't ever stop being awesome.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up if you didn't participate in any of the Training Grounds, oh wait this isn't that site my bad =)
ReplyDeleteDear Phoe;
ReplyDeletePlease post more often, Seth is like a posting machine gun, leading to a severe lack of Phoe posts.
Awesome comics.
ReplyDeleteDamn it Ego! Each of your comics is like a battering ram of emotions against my cold near dead Soul! Your stuff gets more feeling out of me then the Dead Island trailer blast it!
ReplyDeleteDon't stop... please.
I support a Ponies/Back to the Future fanfic. =D (Going on hiatus, won't be able to do it meself)
ReplyDeleteCROSSOVER TIME!!
ReplyDeleteI vote Gilda plays Biff!
"It's your kids, Applejack! Something's gotta be done about your kids!"
ReplyDelete"What do ya mean?"
"Your daughter marries a griffon!"
"Uh, Twilight, I think Jackie's asking how the hay we're going to have kids."
"Well, ah was, until this crazy griffon talk. How's that even legal?"
"Well, in the future, everypony is a little more relaxed about-"
"What's wrong with griffons?"
"Pardon?"
"What do you have against ponies being with griffons, AJ?"
"Well, ah, Dash, I don't have anything against them, it's just that... I mean..." *Pause* "Aw, hooey, ah put my hoof in my mouth on this one. Can we just get on with this future trip, please?"
I never fully watched BttF, but the first one made me laugh :)
ReplyDeleteThe second one is excellent! Very well done.
Egophiliac is some kind of emotional pony comic god
ReplyDeleteSo good. So good. SO Good.
ReplyDeleteThe first one- "wat" was all I could come up with
ReplyDeleteSeen them. Loved em
ReplyDeleteBack To The Future crossover fic to be written NOW
ReplyDeleteDid you know peanut butter was invented by a griffon?
ReplyDeletei love that first comic so much
ReplyDeleteWhen this baby reaches 88 miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious manure.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteA griffon also invented the traffic light signal and the modern day gas mask.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAnd a startling-effective glue recipe whose secret eludes us to this day!
Second one gave me chills.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking how neat it would be if, after the series is over, the staff got to make a straight-to-DVD production, aimed at a bit older of a crowd than FiM, chronicling Luna's descent into Nightmare Moon. Not that it would necessarily HAVE to be aimed at an older audience, but I feel it'd have to be pretty dark to really capture Luna's growing, well, darkness.
The climax would be her imprisonment in the moon, and then the action would wind down with a thousand-year passage-of-time montage, then we'd have the above scene, and then there'd be an epilogue showing Luna back with her sister in their home once and for all.
No I haven't spent any time at all thinking about this what are you talking about
The second one was amazing, and it represents Celestia's character perfectly. We don't see her being serious very often in the show, but I could definitely see that conversation happening. Celestia is very much like Dumbledore, she is powerful, but her best quality is that she sees the best in ponies, and she never gets corrupted by thoughts of power or revenge.
ReplyDeleteBecause nopony's done it yet.
ReplyDeleteDooDEEDOOOODoDoDODodoDOdoooo, DEEDOOOODodoDODodeDOOOOO~~
Egophilliac...
ReplyDeleteThose comics are so deep, and so well drawn... I teared up a little on this one...
Hope you continue making them, for a little while at least.
whats with people and apple X dash? Then again, that might be why Twi came from the future (atleast, I think it;s from the future), because in the end, it ends up horribly.
ReplyDelete@The Dread Pirate Roberts Competition?
ReplyDeleteMore like successor I'd say.
I doubt Madmax would be returning anytime soon.
"Where we're going, we don't need...roads."
ReplyDelete"...of course, we still *have* them..."
- I splorfled.
Is it wrong I want to see this continued?
and oh my gosh yes, the second one is...well it's canon to me!
Ego, I love your comics. They capture the background of MLP in ways I couldn't have thought possible. Your Celestia needs to be Canon.
ReplyDeletePony Back to the Future and an epic look of the events of the pilot from Celestia's POV. Really emotional stuff, captures a side of Celestia you tend to overlook at first glance.
ReplyDeleteHonestly the best pony related comics Ive yet seen.
ReplyDeleteRoads? were we're going we don't need...
ReplyDelete*puts on sunglasses*
Roads
YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
(HuffytheMagicDragon)
Both are great, the BttF crossover is a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteEgofillyac's though, wow. I keep thinking these are canon. All her Celly & Luna ones seem so appropriate, and this one cuts deep, it's so real.
Second one is simply amazing and it fits so perfectly to the show.
